CHAPTER 18
"Good evening, everyone. I am glad to have you here today. It is an honor to be your alpha, and I would like to welcome our guests to the capitol. The heart of the fire kingdom This is where you will be pushed to your limits and have all of your weaknesses tested. The only question that I will have for you is whether you are ready to face that challenge. Are you ready for what awaits you? There are those of you who may think that coming here will be like a walk in the park and that it would be so easy for you to take your place beside me as the luna, but you are wrong. It takes more than a pretty face and a dress for you to be enough to rule over the largest place in the land." He spoke as his words echoed through the room.
Amelia felt her breath hitch in her throat at the way that he spoke. He made it seem as though he were a dictator. "I know that not all of you came here of your own free will, but when it comes to making our world the greatest, we must realize that there are sacrifices that must be made and that in order for you to be able to survive here, you must be ready and willing to make those sacrifices. You will go through with this weather out of your own free will of mine. And your journey starts now". He said.
She froze, not knowing what that meant, and she was about to ask Nora when she watched as several doors at the side of the room were pulled open and several men walked in. They held trays in their hands, but she couldn't entirely make out what was contained in them. They said that curiosity killed the cat, but as they stopped before her, she felt as though she was being led to her death.
She was pulled out of her thoughts when she watched as a plate was lowered towards her. "You must take one. Maybe when you do, your true colors will start to show, she heard the alpha say in her head.
She gulped at the sound as she was left even more confused than she was before. She didn't know what would happen, but she didn't think that she would be a problem when she knew that it couldn't be anything good .
She looked towards the sweet, which appeared to be like hell. It was blue in color, had been cut into cubes, and had a powder that was rubbed on it. Okay, this is actually delicious. If you don't want yours, you will just have to give it to me." She heard Nora call out from beside her. She gulped as she shook her head slightly at her words.
She didn't know that she had been phased by her words. It didn't even seem ridiculous to her ears. She felt a detachment of eyes that were trained on her still, and she couldn't help but gulp. She sucked in a deep breath, knowing that she would simply have to suck it up.
She knew that he wouldn't kill her, and she knew that he had most likely only been playing tricks on her and that the side effect was most likely to be as bad as he made it out to be. She let out a sigh as she took it into their hand before slowly placing it into her mouth .
She swirled it around on her tongue for a dood minute, and she realized that Nora had been right, and it did taste quite delicious and much better than she had thought.
Once all of the girls had had their tale, she watched as the men moved away. "Now that that is done, we can start with the dinner. To start, we have dishes from the air kingdom. We will be having a four-course meal, one from each of the nations. It will be my way of showing my respect to him. He said to them.
She watched as Nora sauealed, and she looked towards her in confusion. "Okay. He is starting with me. I know that he would have a soft spot for me. I hope they give monk bean soup or one of those taster tots". She mumbled.
Amelia looked towards her with a small smile on her face before she slowly shook her head. She realized that she would probably have to get used to her weird behavior now. If she wanted to be friends, she would have to deal with her friends weird habits as well.
She wasn't really complaining, though she felt as though she was finally having someone that she could communicate with and that understood her to some extent. She had never had that before.
She was pulled out of her thoughts as she watched as several bowls were placed in front of them. She heard her friend squeal as she realized that she really was getting what she wanted. Sook enough, the thoughts of that sweet had left her mind as she dug into her food. She couldn't help but moan as she relaxed about how delicious it was.
She was pulled out of her thoughts when she heard one of the girls in the corner squeal. She looked towards her side in bewilderment and saw a girl with auburn hair stand up abruptly from her spot.
"What the hell is that". She squealed.
