Chapter 330
Chapter 330
Isabella's POV
"I really didn't cause that snowfall," Sarah shook her head while flipping pancakes on the stove, her tone resolute, "That's ridiculous."
I leaned against the kitchen counter, raising an eyebrow, "Then how do you explain the sudden snowstorm on your birthday night? It's deep autumn now, Sarah."
I looked at Gabriel, wanting his support, "You tell her."
Gabriel nodded, scrolling through his phone, "The weather was definitely unusual. Local news is already calling it the 'Birthday Miracle'."
Sarah almost dropped her spatula to the floor, "Wait, what?"
"Admit it, Sarah. You got too emotional on your birthday, and ended up using your special abilities," Ryan said, leaning back in his chair, his eyes gleaming with mischief.
Sarah looked at each of us suspiciously, "Are you guys messing with me?"
I reached over to turn off the stove, "Actually, they're right. The media has already reported on the strange weather that suddenly hit Silver Creek City after your birthday party ended, and social media is full of discussions about it."
Sarah's face instantly turned pale, "Oh my God. I might have actually affected the environment." She sat down heavily, "I swear, I didn't mean to."
"When you get emotional, the weather around you starts acting weird," Ryan shrugged, "That's your energy."
Sarah said quietly: "This can't get out, we need to come up with an explanation."
I shook my head, "No need to explain anything. Let the rumors outside fly, this is just a secret between us."
Sarah bit her lip, worried: "What if someone discovers that we're different from ordinary people? You know what happens when humans discover 'others'."
Gabriel's expression suddenly turned serious, "I won't let anyone hurt any of you, ever."
"Besides, if they dare to try anything, you can zap them with your weather powers," Ryan joked with a smile.
Sarah and I couldn't help but burst into laughter, immediately sweeping away the tense atmosphere.
Sarah quickly recovered and served her special "post-birthday breakfast cocktails" with the pancakes. Everyone drank happily, only I pretended to take a sip, letting the bubbles touch my lips without actually drinking any, as I would never touch alcohol during pregnancy.
I decided not to steal Sarah's spotlight. Although her birthday had passed, this was still her special time.
"So," I put down my barely-touched cocktail and asked with a smile, "Was the party everything you wanted?"
Sarah's smile was genuine, "It was the best birthday I've ever had, thank you all for being there with me."
"Remember when Ryan was dancing and almost knocked over that expensive vase?" I couldn't help but recall.
"Hey!" Ryan protested, but the smile on his face betrayed him.
Sarah nodded, "The party did go on too late, I could barely drag myself out of bed this morning to make breakfast."
"But it was worth it," I smiled and said, "That chocolate cake was delicious."
"You just had your birthday yesterday, do you want to take a day off today?" Gabriel asked Sarah caringly.
"I still need to go to the hospital this afternoon, I have several patients to follow up with. Patients won't wait just because I had a birthday," she shook her head.
"Always such a dedicated doctor," I praised sincerely.
Breakfast ended quickly. Gabriel gave me a look, indicating it was time for us to return to council headquarters.
"Do you really have to go?" Sarah asked somewhat dejectedly.
"When you have time, why not come stay with us at the council headquarters for a few days?" I suggested, "We'd love to have you."
Sarah shook her head, "You just helped me buy a house, I can't impose on you again."
"Our door is always open for you," I insisted, giving her a tight hug.
As I pulled away, Sarah's gaze fell on my almost untouched cocktail. Before I could move the glass, Ryan suddenly grabbed my wrist, leaned in for a sniff, and his eyes instantly widened.
"Your scent has changed," he said in surprise.
"What did you find?" Sarah asked in confusion, following Ryan's gaze to my glass, and suddenly realized, "Oh my God! You're pregnant!"
There was no denying it now. "The secret's out," I admitted frankly.
Our departure was later than Gabriel had anticipated. Sarah hugged me while complaining that I hadn't told her sooner, and finally promised with tears in her eyes to visit soon.
In the car, I held Gabriel's hand tightly the whole way, my heart filled with bubbles of happiness. I had my Alpha mate, our son Lucian, and now a daughter on the way. Life was simply perfect.
After arriving at council headquarters, Gabriel insisted on personally escorting me back to the master bedroom.
"It's really not necessary," I laughed, "We're already home."
"Just humor me," Gabriel said gently, "For the next six months, my Alpha instincts won't let me leave your side."
"You were the same with Lucian," I teased.
"This is completely different," Gabriel said seriously, his eyes flashing, "My wolf is more alert now."
In the bedroom, I changed Lucian's diaper as he babbled and laughed.
"Do you feel any different?" Gabriel asked with concern.
"Should I?"
Gabriel said somewhat apologetically, "You just stopped breastfeeding and now you're pregnant again, you didn't get a chance to enjoy any freedom during non-pregnancy, you really are going through a lot."
"I don't mind postponing those," I smiled in response, "But after this baby is born, you owe me some crazy times."
"Deal," Gabriel grinned, "Are you already planning our third child?"
I didn't answer directly, just smiled mysteriously, "However, there is something I'm really looking forward to."
"What is it?"
"Rebuilding the nest!" I said excitedly, already starting to arrange blankets into a comfortable little circle.
"Nest 2.0?" Gabriel nodded, "What innovations and improvements do you have this time?"
"This nest needs to accommodate a wolf cub and a growing little princess," I said seriously, "I need a big budget."
Gabriel's eyebrows shot up high when I mentioned the pillow budget.
"That's just for blankets and snacks," I explained, "Pillows are calculated separately."
"Whatever makes you happy," Gabriel tried hard to hold back his laughter, "Your wish is my command."
"Do you really have to go?" I asked reluctantly.
"There's a meeting," he said somewhat helplessly, "But I'll be back early to help you hold the nest inauguration ceremony."
Gabriel handed me a tablet: "Feel free to buy whatever you need. Just don't spend all our savings."
"I can't promise that," I said playfully.
After he left, Lucian and I settled in and started shopping online. I planned to order matching outfits for Lucian and his future sister, and prepare a special post-birthday gift for Sarah. After all, being able to cause a snowstorm definitely deserved a proper celebration.
