Chapter 331

Chapter 331
Isabella's POV

I was carefully laying the sleeping Lucian into his bed when I heard Gabriel's familiar footsteps approaching. His stride was always powerful, but today there was a hint of fatigue.

"Hey." I whispered as he came through the door, noticing that he had already loosened his tie.

The moment he saw us, Gabriel's expression immediately softened. He walked over in a few steps and gently wrapped his arms around my waist from behind, resting his chin lightly on my shoulder. Together, we gazed at Lucian's peaceful sleeping face.

"How was your day?" he murmured in my ear, his warm breath brushing against my earlobe.

"Peaceful," I replied, leaning back against him. "Lucian was especially good today. But I still can't help thinking about that snowstorm after Sarah's birthday party last night. The weather forecasters are still confused about it."

Gabriel chuckled softly. "When we told Sarah this morning, her expression was priceless. I've never seen her so shocked."

"Yes," I said, turning to face him with a smile. "Do you remember what she once said? The Moon Goddess had prophesied that our children would have special abilities too. I keep wondering..."

Gabriel gently tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. "You're wondering what talents our children will possess?"

I nodded, taking his hand as we quietly left the room, leaving only a crack in the door. "What special ability do you think Lucian will have?"

As we walked slowly down the hallway, Gabriel's lips curved into a mischievous smile. "Actually, I already know what his ability is."

I raised an eyebrow, half-doubting. "You're talking nonsense again."

"I'm serious." he said, his eyes sparkling with playfulness.

"Well, tell me then." I said, crossing my arms and pretending to look at him sternly.

Gabriel puffed out his chest dramatically. "His superpower is—being exceptionally handsome. That definitely counts as a superpower."

I couldn't help but laugh. "That's ridiculous, Gabriel. How can being handsome be considered a superpower?"

"Are you sure it's not?" He pointed toward Lucian's room. "Look at our son, that level of good looks is practically supernatural."

I gently tapped his arm, pretending to be exasperated. "You're hopeless."

"I'm serious!" Gabriel continued his theatrics. "Remember the vision the Moon Goddess once showed Sarah and Ryan? They said adult Lucian was strikingly handsome, and all females would probably fall for him."

"That's because he looks like you," I added instinctively, immediately regretting it when I saw his smile grow even more smug. "Oh god, I shouldn't have said that."

"So you admit I'm handsome too?" Gabriel stood up straighter, looking pleased with himself.

"That's exactly what I'm worried about. With you two father and son, this home will eventually be drowned in narcissistic atmosphere," I rolled my eyes.

Gabriel laughed heartily, putting his arm around me as we continued walking to the bedroom. "Just wait, he'll have the entire pack enchanted by him in the future."

I called softly toward the room: "Don't listen to your father, Lucian! We want to raise a good child with substance, not a little narcissist!"

Gabriel pulled me into the bedroom, still laughing. "Can you imagine what he'll be like in high school? We might need to install a special phone line just to handle all the calls from girls."

"Stop it!" I tried to hold back my laughter, pretending to be serious. "I really am serious! I hope our children value character more than appearance."

Gabriel leaned against the bedroom door, his smile not yet faded. "If handsomeness isn't a gift, then it's a curse. He might need to carry a stick around to drive away his pursuers."

The image of Lucian waving a stick to chase away a group of girls appeared in my mind, and I couldn't help but collapse into Gabriel's arms, laughing so hard I couldn't straighten up.

"Maybe his real superpower is being able to sleep through anything," I said while catching my breath. "Have you noticed? No matter how noisy it gets, he sleeps soundly. He didn't even wake up when Ryan dropped the plate this morning."

Gabriel shrugged. "He's probably used to having a noisy mother."

"What?" I glared at him, pretending to be angry.

I walked to the bedside and bent down to whisper in Lucian's ear: "Don't listen to your father, he's the one who talks nonsense."

"I heard that!" Gabriel protested loudly from the walk-in closet. "And I'm not ugly!"

I leaned closer to Lucian's ear and whispered: "Your good looks come from your mother, that's the truth."

Gabriel came out wearing his pajama bottoms, his upper body bare, and said sincerely: "I can't argue with that. You are indeed beautiful, Isabella."

"Smart man." I said, rising on tiptoes to give him a kiss, which he returned while pulling me closer, his hand playfully patting my bottom.

Our movements revealed the intimacy that comes from living together for a long time. Gabriel gently kissed Lucian's forehead and carefully placed him in the crib.

I hesitated, my gaze lingering reluctantly on our son. "Maybe... tonight we could let him sleep with us? While I can still hold him as he sleeps."

Gabriel's expression softened. "Isabella, we can't bring him into our nest every night."

"You can try to stop me," I said challengingly, crossing my arms. "I might just let all our children sleep with us until they're sixty."

Gabriel growled softly and pulled me back onto the bed. "Then they'll need psychological counseling in the future."

"How about twenty then," I giggled, compromising.

He lay on his side, his palm gently covering my flat abdomen. "How is our daughter doing in there?"

I smiled and placed my hand over his. "She's great. I'm always imagining what she'll look like."

Gabriel propped himself up on one arm, gazing at me tenderly.

"Do you think she'll have your green eyes or my amber ones? Your brown hair or my blonde? Either way, she'll be beautiful."

"Just like her mother." Gabriel said softly.

I couldn't stop smiling. "She'll definitely make all the Alphas fall for her."

Gabriel shook his head, laughing. "That's different, female werewolves usually don't have that kind of aura."

"Our daughter will be special," I said seriously. "She might have her own charm, a kind of... presence that can't be ignored."

Gabriel's expression softened. "Whatever talents she possesses in the future, we'll be by her side, guiding her growth."

"I know she'll be amazing," I said softly, nestling into his arms. "Just like her brother."

As night deepened, we fell asleep in each other's embrace. In my dream, I returned to that familiar forest. Transformed into a wolf, I ran through the woods, with Gabriel's huge wolf shadow running alongside me. I playfully bit his flank, urging him to speed up.

He suddenly sprinted forward, followed by a joyful little wolf cub—Lucian, his small paws barely touching the ground as he excitedly chased his father's tail, making pure, happy cries.

Then, I sensed her presence—our daughter. Though not yet born, she appeared as a semi-transparent white wolf cub in the morning light. She lifted her small nose toward the sky and let out a clear howl that seemed to make even the air tremble.

I lowered my head to lick her face, and she looked at me with eyes full of happiness. Together, mother and daughter, we ran through the forest, immersed in the freedom and kinship that belongs to the wolf kind.
