Chapter 67: The hardest thing I've ever done (Alpha Anton P.O.V)

I slowly begin to go downstairs. I stop at the first step and look back at the door of the room my mate was in. I didn't want to leave. As much as I hurt her. I had high hopes coming here that I could win over her heart, and she would forgive me, but in the end, it was silly thought within my head. A thought that will never happen. I broke her heart and she'll never forgive me. I could see it in her eyes. The pure hatred when her brown eyes look at me. It's so strong that I feel my wolf howling inside of me in pain. It's so painful to see my one true mate angry with me and wanting nothing to do with me.

I don't want to give up on her love. I want to continue to fight for over love. There must be some feeling for me deep inside of her heart drowned by anger and rage. I could pull out and remind her that she still cares for me. I remember the day we kiss within my small cottage in the woods. I could feel that she felt the same way for me but was too afraid to show me. My head turns away angrily, I was mad at myself for hurting her all along when the feeling I had for her were all true. She is my one true mate, my true Luna.

I won't stop fighting for you Nala, I thought as I went downstairs. I'm going to make you want me again.

I headed to the front door to leave the house. Sadly, I didn't want to leave her side, but I had to. Being next to her was too painful for her. She hated seeing me after all the madness my father did to her family, and I foolishly ended it believing every word he had said.

"Alpha Anton," Dr. Charles stops me before I could leave.

My head turns to his.

"I need to leave this land tomorrow for business purposes," he told me.

I nodded.

'I won't be long," he told me.

"Don't worry," I respond to him. "Another doctor is on his way within our land, so you won't be filled with work dealing with many patients from now on," I told him. He too needed time to heal after losing another love of his.

"Thank you," Dr. Charles acknowledge me.

He walks away.

"Will Nala be alright being alone?" I inquire him.

He froze and slowly he turns around to face me.

"She will be coming with me as well, Alpha," he responded.

I stare at him puzzled. Why was he taking Nala from this land on a business trip? I had to know why; she was my Luna after all.

"Why?" I inquire him.

His body begins to shake nervously.

"She wants to leave sir," he answers.

"His that's why you're leaving tomorrow and lying to me about a business trip?" I inquire him angrily.

"You look me in the eye and lie to me, your alpha!" I shouted at him.

"No, no alpha," he stutters as he shakes even more.

I got closer to him staring into his eyes gravely.

"It's business I assure you, alpha," the doctor told me.

As he was about to explain everything to me, I heard my Luna mouth above the stairs.

"Dr. Charles and I business is none of your damn business!" my Luna shouted at the top of the stairs.

Slowly she begins to come down the stairs. Her eyes stare at me gravely.

She stops at the last step remaining to stare at me.

"You should leave, you're not welcome here," she told me.

"Why didn't you tell me that you're leaving?" I inquire her.

"As I have said, it has nothing to do with you," she again told me angrily. "You don't own me."

I stare at her sadly. I was not getting anyway with her. She'll never forgive me.

"I have to know where you're going so you can be saved," I told her.

"I'm not even save here with you," she said to me angrily with great disgust on her face.

"Just leave us, can't you see I don't want you; I don't love you!" she shouted at me.

"What do you plan to do to me again force me to do whatever you want by abusing me, for that will be the only way I'll be with you," My Luna said to me as she got close to me and gave me both of her hands.

I pull away from her immediately.

"I hate all the times I have hurt you and I will never do it again," I told her.

It hurts me knowing that she thought I would do so to her again.

"Just let her go, Alpha, if you love her," the doctor told me. "Sometimes the best way to show someone that you truly love them is to let them go," the doctor says to me.

I didn't want to. The thought of her being away from this land frightens me.

"Don't worry Alpha I'm taking her to Roxburghe to be with a relative of mine. She is good a person and well-known doctor. Nala needs to be around ladies like her in practicing to become a good doctor and too a strong woman," Dr. Charles told me where he was taking my mate.

I disagree with him. My Luna was much safer here.

"Just please let her so, if she wants you back let her come to you and don't force her," Dr. Charles soon begin to beg him

Nala and I both stare at each other. Her head soon went away from mine sadly.

I didn't see any love within her eyes for me. As much as these words with my head were hard. I realized that I had to let her go. Dr. Charles was right as much as I hated he was. I should let her be the one to come to me when she's ready to be my Luna and to be by my side.

I nodded to the doctor and exit his home as I took one last look at my beautiful she-wolf. Tears fill my eyes knowing I had decided to let her go. I didn't want her to think I was forcing her. I pray to the moon goddess as I cry hoping that she will come back to me one day. I don't know how I will continue to live my life knowing that she's far away from me but I know I will forever love her. I will love her until the day I die.
