Chapter 68: A new start
Nala's P.O.V
I watch him as he exits the house sadly. I rushed over to Dr. Charles and hug him as he did.
"Don't worry, I made sure that today is the last you will see him," Dr. Charles told me as one of his arms went around me and the other brushes my hair gently. "You're going to be much better off at my relative home," Dr. Charles says softly to me.
I nodded while I continue to cry. I couldn't wait to leave from here, from this land.
"Go upstairs and start taking out your clothes, I will be up there with a suitcase in a moment," Dr. Charles told me as his hands moved away from me. "We will be leaving early tomorrow."
I nodded.
Dr. Charles turns around and walks away from me.
I stop him.
"Can I take my mom ashes with me as well?" I inquire him sadly.
He nodded.
"We will leave with it tomorrow as well," he told me as he stares into my eyes sadly. Tears soon begin to fill his eyes. It too hurt him being reminded of my mom.
I nodded and went upstairs. I took out all my clothes placing them on the bed. I fold them as I did. I was feeling a bit better that Dr. Charles had decided for us to leave tomorrow. I couldn't wait to leave this land and start afresh. I needed it badly. I am miserable staying here in the land of the two wolves who had made my life hell. I just hope the alpha had made up his mind to leave me alone. I will never take him and back and he needs to understand. The feelings I had for him no longer exist. The moment my mom dies, I know I could never have feelings for him, the best thing for us both was to go our separate ways. He needs to find another love and I need to find my purpose in life and to be strong. Working along with Dr. Charles's relative is good. It's indeed a great start for me. I just hope I will be a strong lady as to how Dr. Charles had described her.
I heard a knock on my bedroom door.
"Come in," I informed the doctor.
He slowly enters my room with a large black suitcase.
I thank him and take it from him. I place all my clothes in the suitcase and lock it.
"Your mom will be proud of you," Dr. Charles told me.
I smiled.
I know she would, tears begin to fill my eyes. I was going to practice in becoming a doctor and sadly my mom won't be able to see it. She won't see me becoming a responsible and strong young lady.
I blink away my tears, not wanting to cry.
"Here," Dr. Charles gave me a small white plastic bag.
I took it from him and look inside the bag.
I was surprised to see what it was.
"Take it and use it when you need to," Dr. Charles told me.
I went over to him and hug him, thanking him for the money he was kind to give me.
"You don't need to," he said to me as his hands moves away from me.
I smile, appreciating his kindness to me. He did a wonderful job taking care of my mom before she dies. It's so sad he didn't get the opportunity to have a wonderful life with my mom. I know for sure that both would be happy and probably I and the alpha would be trying to put the horrible past behind each other and trying to be one. I doubted that I would have rejected him. I would think hard before doing so. Knowing of a kind heart my mom is. I too know for sure she would be telling me that what had happened is not Alpha Anton's fault and would want u to be together. Sadly, we could never be so. My mom was dead by those two evil heart wolves and I will never forgive any of them.
"We have a long-distance ahead of us tomorrow, I'm going to start preparing food for the way," the doctor told me. I nodded and went to sit on the side of my bed.
The night I dreamed of being in the new land and how beautiful it was of being somewhere that doesn't allow you to feel pain whenever you look around. I was new to that area, and no one knew me. It was a great start to building a new lie.
A knock awakens me from my dream.
"You should get ready now, it's time for us to leave," I heard Dr. Charles outside of my bedroom.
I got out of bed and get prepared for my trip into a new land. Soon I was heading downstairs pulling my suitcase behind me.
"Come get something to eat before you leave," the doctor told me.
I wasn't angry. I was anxious to leave. The doctor forces me to eat before we leave and so I decide to drink some juice only. Before leaving the house, I went for my mom's ashes in a beautiful white and silver box-shaped object. It was beautiful. I held it before me while tears fill my eyes and then I hug it.
"I won't disappoint you mom," I said to her as I held it tightly to my heart.
Dr. Charles came and hugged me as well and soon we were both outside of the house.
Dr. Charles had made sure everything was well prepared for the trip. He had organized an old friend of his to assist us with his transportation to Roxburghe. Before I went off, I took one last look at the house remembering my mom of how happy she was that is until Eric found us and his son, Alpha Anton had us thrown in the cell. Tears fill my eyes. Soon I was on my way.
It was a long ride, one I thought would never end. I started to feel sick. Dr. Charles gave me a bottle of water. I soon felt a little better.
"Are we almost there?" I inquire him.
"We have a long distance ahead of us we are not even close," his friend answers me as he laughs.
I soon fell asleep; I was a bit drowsy from the long-distance traveling. I fell asleep right beside Dr. Charles.
"Nala wake up," I heard Dr. Charles say to me as he shakes my body.
My eyes open and I saw it was night already. We were on a road with lights towered up in the sky. Lights that brighten the road, killing a bit of the darkness. I look around the area we were in and there I saw houses. The doors were closed, with lights on the porches, everyone seems to be asleep.
"Were finally here," the doctor told me.
"Let's go and see my cousin, Annie wright."
I nodded.
Dr. Charles took my hand and soon we were walking along the road. The man who carried us helped me with my suitcase. We soon made a turn up a stony hill. I almost fell on my face. Soon I saw a large white house with a bright light.
We got close to the house, Dr. Charles knock on the door. My heart beats quickly within my chest as he did. The door opens and there I saw a blonde lady who looks within her 40's standing before us.
"Dr. Charles," she said happily as she hugs me.
I just stare at them; nervously waiting to be introduced.
"Come inside," he told us three.
We all did and soon we were sitting in her living room on her couch. Inside her house was beautiful.
"So, tell me your purpose here?" she inquires Dr. Charles.
She spoke so beautifully and confidently. I admired her instantly.
Dr. Charles told her the reason, that he wanted her to teach me and allow me to stay here until I'm able to manage to get off my own two feet.
She agrees, I was happy. She was indeed kind as the doctor has described her.
Dr. Charles finally introduces me to her and soon he got up saying his goodbyes to me. I was so shocked that he was leaving me already. I thought he was going to stay here with me as he had said until I got comfortable with the place. I stop him right away.
"You'll be fine Nala," he told me as he hugs me.
I hug him as I cry. I wasn't ready to let him go, but I had to.
"I love you Nala and will always, I too will come to visit you sometimes," he told me making me feel a bit better.
I nodded and told him I love him as well.
He and the lady went away quietly to talk before he leaves. Leaving me and his elderly friend.
Within minutes they were returning.
"Let's go Willis," Dr. Charles told his friend.
I run to hug him one more time and watch him as he went back home in the dark.
Please protect them moon goddess so they will return home save, I pray inside of me as I remain to watch them until I no longer see them.
"You're at the right place," I heard Annie behind me. I turn around closing the door and there I see her smiling.
She came to hug me. I allow her to.
"I know how it feels to lose a mom not by natural death by evil ones," she told me as she hugs me. "And I too know how it feels to be abused by your partner," she again told me.
I hug her back crying.
"I survive it all and I promise you, I will help you too as well," she again told me.
I remove my hands from around her, staring into her eyes. I was happy than ever that I had come here. I was now with the right person. I now wanted more to be as confident and strong as her. I soon started to strongly agree that I did the right thing rejecting Alpha Anton. I need to be the she-wolf his father had prevented me from becoming after killing my dad and allowing my mom to grow me in the forest. Staying within the forest, I was robbed of a lot of things. Now being here I could learn it all with someone who seems to understand me. This is indeed my new start and I'm not going to mess it up.
