Chapter 196
Connor
Lori had arrived five minutes ago and Collin was already surrounding her and her cub like a surly, protective wolf that had been ripped from the comfort of its den. Susan noticed this and purposely asked to hold little Jasper. She cradled the newborn in her arms and walked over to the couch to sit down. Only then did Collin seem to relax a little. Susan was the Alpha and was holding her son in her arms now. Wrapped in a pink blanket that was probably supposed to be Jasmine's.
I opened a smile.
Knowing that Collin respected my partner's place and trusted her made me extremely satisfied. And seeing my female with that puppy in her arms made me extremely emotional and anxious. It was impossible not to see that scene and not think about what could happen from now on.
Our first heat together was crazy and Susan seemed to accept the fact that she could be a mother at any moment. If I said I wasn't going crazy over this news, I'd be lying. My dream was, and has always been, to be a father. And when Susan appeared in my life, giving me this opportunity to form a family, I was more than happy and with the feeling that things were finally getting back on track. That this was happening to me too. Because I always thought that the duty of being Alpha would be my only responsibility in life. That my pack and my wolves would be the only ones I should care for and protect.
I'm happy to say I was wrong.
“You're drooling, Connor. You better get this here.” I looked to the side and saw Dominic holding a napkin.
"Shut up idiot." I whispered and hid my smile.
Susan was still distracted looking at Jasper while talking to Lori. Our wolves were chatting around the house and enjoying the warmth of the fireplace while Joseph paced around restlessly. With his shirt showing sweat on his back and collar. He ran a hand through his hair as he stood as far away from the fireplace as possible.
I furrowed my eyebrows. Matheu had already left and the matter had already been resolved, so that couldn't be a concern. It could?"
“Why is Joseph like that?” I asked Dominic still beside me.
"I don't know. I was surprised when I saw him too. I asked what was happening, but he said he was just hot.
Joseph walked and crossed the room, breathing deeply until he went to the balcony door and left.
“I’m going to see what’s really going on.” If he was feeling sick again because of what Philip had said, I wouldn't know what to do.
I got up and followed the same path as him. When I walked out the door, I saw Joseph lying in the snow, his arms buried in it, his breathing ragged.
"What are you doing?" He looked at me quickly and looked away.
“Refreshing myself.
“Joseph, what’s going on?” Do not lie to me. Never for me.
"I'm not lying. I’m dying of heat.” I closed the door behind me and leaned against the stone column.
"Just that?" You’re not thinking too much about what happened earlier, right?”
“I’m not, I swear. I woke up dripping with sweat and with my heart racing. It's not a fever. That won’t happen again.” I sighed a little more relieved.
But then the other alternative came into my head. Of course... They were obvious symptoms.
“I already know what this is.” I crossed my arms. They were the same symptoms I felt a few days ago. And the same symptoms I felt when I was his age.” You are coming into heat and need a female.
"What?" He got up from the snow so fast that the snow on his arms flew into his head.
Connor
“You’re coming into heat and you need a female.
"What?" He got up from the snow so fast that the snow on his arms flew into his head.” No. No. No. Obviously not.
“You're already sixteen and transformed a few weeks ago. You knew very well that your heat was going to arrive at some point, didn’t you?” Did Sury talk to you about this?”
“She said something like that.” He covered his face with his hands and bent his knees. Probably distressed.” What the fuck... What the fuck!
"I know how you feel. During my first heat I locked myself in the room and waited for it to pass for three weeks without seeing anyone. Did not pass. Much less improved. My father forced me to wake up to life and said it was just a passage.” I looked at him still desolate.” It's something natural to our species, Joseph.
"I do not want it." I smiled, but then scratched my nose to hide it.
“I know you don’t want to. I’m your Alpha, I’m just trying to help you.” I heard him mutter a bad word.
"And what did you do?"
"What do you think?" He shrank even more and I pressed my lips together to keep from laughing.” I had a friend at the time.
"For. Enough. No." I shrugged and let go of the column.
"What do you know." I spoke and turned, opening the door again before entering.
Dominic was sitting in my seat when I returned.
"And then?"
“He’s fine, he’s just going into heat.” I responded and went to the kitchen.
"Shit!!" Dominic got up and followed me.” Remembering that time gives me goosebumps to this day.
“Was it difficult for you?”
“It was shameful. I don't remember anything about what happened during my first heat. All I remember was that the next day the wolf simply ran away from me and never spoke to me again.” I poured two glasses of juice.” Thanks." I growled as he reached for one of the glasses.
“It’s for Susan, idiot.” Then he quickly pulled his hand away.
"Sorry." He smiled and poured his own glass.” But anyway, what are you going to do?”
“I'll talk to Sury.” I took the glasses and headed towards my female. She looked at me as I sat next to her and handed her the juice.
"Thanks.
She returned the baby to the mother and I looked at Sury sitting a meter away from me talking “actually arguing” with Alaric who had just arrived and was apparently teasing her. Something about his slanted eyes “which he loved so much because he had already told me “they were always in a bad mood.
“Sorry to interrupt your love talk, but I need to talk about Joseph.” Sury looked at me at the same time Alaric did too. He had a smile on his face that then slowly disappeared.
"What about him?" He asked.
“It’s coming into heat.” I replied.
“That’s why the nervous breakdown…” She mumbled.
"Yes." I spoke and felt Susan’s hand grab mine.” I thought maybe you could talk to Sophia or her parents.
“They're still new to the pack and I don't know if they'll want their daughter...
“I know, but she’s the only one who can help him now.” Sury looked at me and nodded.
"Okay I will try.
