Chapter 61 Family
Elena’s POV
I knew I was going to see them eventually but I thought that I would be more prepared then.
What was I thinking? I laughed at myself. I really thought that maybe they would feel sorry about what they did or at least dad would finally speak up. But as unless he didn’t and mom was always the bitch would lie and say she did it for the family.
My mind went back to the times I spent with the Stone family.
Now that I think about it we were never a family. Mom would never celebrate my birthday because she said she didn’t think I had one. Dad never took me to watch his tennis games with Alpha Derrick but he always took Ashley.
I was never a jealous child but now that I have finally grown up I realized I never actually had a family.
We got to the pack grounds quickly and I got out of the car.
“Elena?” I looked into the car.
“Yes.”
“Get in, I need to talk to you,” he said.
I knew he was angry but I thought he would wait a bit.
I got back into the car.
“I really sorry Liam, I know I should have told you and I know I shouldn’t have snuck out but I needed to see her. You weren’t there Liam, that day when I looked back at her, she was so still, she wasn’t moving at all, I thought I had lost her,” I said.
Liam took my hand. “What you did was very reckless but I’m not angry, I just wanted to let you know that my grandparents are in town.”
I was confused now. “But I thought that Sarah was the only family you had left?”
“She is, those two people in our home are just people I share the same blood with,” he gritted his teeth.
“Can you tell me what happened between you too?” I asked. I wanted to know, if it was a little issue I was sure they could resolve it.
“My mom was the one who had the lycan blood in her and her family had always tried to preserve that connection. So they would marry their children off to the strongest Alphas they knew. They would tell them it was to save the bloodline,” he scoffed. “But I think it was a load of crap and my mom thought so too, she was in college when she met my dad, he wasn’t an Alpha’s son but he had a strong beta blood in him.”
I nodded, understanding where he was going. “Her parents didn’t agree.”
“No they didn’t, they said it would ruin everything their ancestors worked for. My mother begged them to let it happen that my dad was strong enough but they refused. They tried to get her sold off to some Alpha’s son but it didn’t work and then they tried to use their Alpha’s command on her and that’s when one of my mom’s many powers showed. She wasn’t affected by any Alpha’s aura or command.”
Wow, that’s really something. I thought.
“They finally gave up, my mom was too strong and she was the only heir to the lycan family, they had tried many times but it was only my mom they could give birth too.”
He looked disgusted now. “My grandfather had slept with other women with alpha blood just so he could get a pure line but it didn’t work for some reason, they weren’t strong enough. When my mom grew older, she became the Alpha of Blood Moon Pack and my grandparents left the pack, saying it now a disgrace to what it once was. After my parents gave birth to us, they tried to reach out to them but they said they didn’t want anything to do with weak and hopeless children.”
I squeezed Liam’s hand.
“I’m telling you this because, now that they are back, they mean trouble and they are going to come for you Elena. Please do not let them get to you.”
“I won’t,” I said but I could already feel the fear settling in.
“Good,” he reached over and kissed me slowly.
I melted into his touch, I pulled him closer.
“I have missed this,” he said in between the kisses.
“Me too,” I whispered.
My whole body was on fire and begging for more.
But I knew we needed to face the problem waiting for us inside first.
I pulled back and Liam stole one last kiss again.
“Let’s go,” he said.
We both came out of the car and walked to the pack house.
“There’s my grandson,” a voice said and I turned to see a handsome old man with gray eyes walking towards us.
“Hello grandfather,” Liam clinched his jaw.
“Why the face Liam, aren’t you happy to see us?” a woman who looked as beautiful as the man was handsome said.
“Grandmother.”
I looked around and saw Sarah with a big frown on her face. I’m guessing she hated them just as much as Liam did.
“We have been here for hours, waiting for you. Is this how you treat your grandparents?”
Liam laughed. “Forgive me but I didn’t think I had any family apart from Sarah.”
Their faces changed. “You will not speak to us in such a manner, boy,” the man said.
“Or what? You are in my pack, my territory, I think it should be you who should be careful with your words.”
The tension in the air was so thick.
Liam’s grandmother touched her husband’s arm.
“It’s alright Marcus, we don’t need to start a fight,” she said in the last part and looked at Liam.
Not once did they look my way and I was honestly happy for that.
“I think we should all go to the dining hall and have dinner, it’s been a long journey and I would like some good food,” she said.
She didn’t wait for anyone to reply before she dragged her husband with her as they went to the dining hall.
Liam looked like his wolf was about to burst through.
This day was not looking good.
