Chapter 52 Rescuing Sarah
Liam’s POV
I was shocked for a minute but regained myself.
My face was blank now. “What do you want?”
The man gave me a sly smile. “Aren’t you going to ask how I got into this man’s body, it’s a neat trick isn’t it?”
I signaled my men to let go of him.“Thank you for that, now about what I want, you know what it is,” she said as she moved around, my men looking like they were ready to transform.
“You can’t have her, I won’t let you,” I said.
He laughed hysterically. “You won’t let me, I don’t think you know what you’re dealing with here, give me the girl while you still have the chance.”
“No one is going to touch what’s mine, come for her and it will be your death.”
The man’s face twitched. “Suit yourself,”
I took my position getting ready for a fight.
“Oh please, do you think I would fight you here in this body?” she glared at me. “I will be back, but for now farewell.”
The man put his hand into his pocket and brought out a knife, a smile still on his face as he slit his own throat, Lady Grey had left his body and now he was crawling to me for help until he stilled.
No one spoke or even moved for a while.I pulled myself together as I returned my focus to Sarah.
“We need to move now, Sarah, can you walk?” I asked.
She looked away from the dead man on the floor and nodded her head.
I reached to ask her friend but she flinched. “Hey, it’s okay, I won’t hurt.”
She looked at me. “Please, I just want to go home.”
I felt bad for her, she didn’t look like she was handling this well and she was clearly in shock.
Sarah spoke up. “That’s where we are now, home. Right Liam?”
“Yes, now let’s get these chains off you.” Luckily the chains weren’t silver, so I had no problem touching them.
“Oh thank God, you found them,” Josh said as he and some of my men arrived at the scene.
We worked quietly and got ready to get home.
I looked back in the car, Sarah and Amara were holding on to each other as they shivered. We got to the pack gate and the guards opened the door immediately.
We drove in and I saw two people I barely recognized waiting for us. The man had a worried look on his face and the woman was crying.
We got down.“Amara!” the woman shouted as she ran over to us.
“Mom? Mom!” Amara let go of Sarah and ran into her mother’s arms.
Her father joined them as they shared a private moment.
Elena and Clara rushed over to Sarah and gave her a big hug.
“You really scared us Sarah,” Elena said as she looked at Sarah.
“I know and I’m sorry,” she said as she held back a cry.
“Alpha Liam?” I turned around, it was Amara’s mom.
“Thank you for saving our daughter, we are really grateful,” she said.
“It was nothing,” I said.
She nodded as her husband walked over. “Thank you for everything but if you don’t mind, we will be leaving now, it’s been a long night and we need to get Amara to a hospital,” he said and I agreed with him.
“I don’t,” I said.
“Bye Sarah,” Amara said from where she stood.
Sarah waved at her as they left.
“Come on, you still need to see a doctor,” I said.
“Okay,” she said. I really thought that she was going to argue with me.
I felt like killing those assholes again for whatever they were trying to do to her.
We got to the pack clinic, Elena and Clara came along.
I asked Doctor Lila to check on her.
“Nothing serious apart from minor bruises and scrapes to her knees and arms. But she might not show it but there’s a chance that she might go into shock from what happened, so I suggest she stays in the hospital.”
Sarah shook her head. “No, I’m fine Doctor, I really don’t want to stay here,”
I was about to say no.
“Doctor, is it a problem if Sarah stays with me in my room, I will watch over her since she doesn’t want to be here.”
“It’s not a problem since someone is watching her.”
Sarah looked relieved and smiled at Elena.
I realized she was just scared of being alone.
We went back into the pack house.
Scott was waiting for us. “Hey Sarah, I’m really glad nothing happened to you,” Scott said nervously.
“Thank you Scott,” she said and looked at me.
“I will head up and get cleaned up,” she muttered.
“Okay,” I said as I watched her go up to her room.
I was about to go to my office when Elena held my hand and looked at me. “It can wait, I think you deserve to rest.”
I wanted to argue but I knew she was right.
I followed her back to her room.
And she hugged me immediately we got in.
She didn’t say anything but I knew what she was thinking.
I hugged her tightly as I breathed in her scent.
She was here, Sarah was here and they were safe.
“I wish I could stay with you but I need to check up on Sarah,” she said as she moved back.
“I know.”
“You come join us if you want,” Elena said. I knew she meant it but Sarah had just been through a lot today and I knew she hated when I treated her like a child.
“It’s okay I will just sleep in my room,” I said.
“Okay, Goodnight,” she said as quickly kissed me and ran out of the room.
I smiled as I went back to the room and took a shower.
I laid down on my bed but I couldn’t sleep, Lady Grey was still on my mind.
I got up and went to check on Sarah.
I opened the door quietly and saw her and Elena wrapped around each other.
I smiled.
“Liam?” Sarah raised her head and looked at me.
“Sorry, I didn’t know I woke you up.”
“It’s okay,”
“Okay, goodnight then,” I said.
“Wait,” she said and I looked at her. “I’m sorry for going out even when you told me not, I put myself and Amara in danger and I’m also sorry for being a brat.”
“It’s okay, I think I have a little too hard on you and I’m sorry I haven’t been paying much attention.”
She nodded. “That is enough sorrys for one day.”
I smirked.
“Yeah, goodnight then.”
“Good night.”
She said as I closed the door and went back to my room feeling a little better.
