Chapter 53 Ciara
Elena’s POV
I laughed as a boy pulled me as we both ran.
“Where are we going, Kylan?” I smiled as I ran with him.
“It’s a surprise.”
I didn’t care much as long as I was with him I was happy.
“Okay, so I know you said—” a scream caught him off in whatever he was going to say.
“Mama,” I muttered as I pulled my dress up and ran back to the village.
I didn’t look back to see if Kylan was at my back because I knew he was.
Fear filled my heart, we were too far from the pack.
We got closer and I stopped. The entire village was on fire.
No. I ran to my house but it was already in flames.
“Mama! No!” I used my strength to push the door but it was budging.
“Ciara! Oh thank God,” Mira ran to me.
“Mira, my mother—” I said as my voice cracked.
“No Ciara, she’s not there,” Mira grabbed my hand and took me to where she was.
“Mama!” I gasped as I saw her, she was lying on the floor, blood was everywhere.
I ran to her.
“It will be okay mama, I just need to get you to the healer,” I looked around and froze when I saw the healer laying still on the ground in front of her house.
I shook my head. “It will be fine, Kylan” I turned my back but Kylan wasn’t there.
“Listen to Ciara, you will be fine,” Mama touched my cheek. “Don’t worry about me and run away, these people I think they want you.”
I frowned because nothing was making sense. “If I’m leaving, you are coming with me.”
“Be good Ciara, no matter what, be good,” she said and her hand fell from my face.
“No, No!” I screamed and cried as I held her.
“Ciara, we need to go now, they are back,” Mira shook me and I looked up and saw men with silver knives coming towards us again.
“Stay away from her,” I had Kylan say as he rushed towards them.
But the leader was skilled and Kylan was only with an axe.
It happened so fast.
One minute Kylan was running towards him and then the next, there was blood everywhere.
Kylan fell to the ground and I looked as he bled from his stomach.
He looked at me one last time. “My little flower.”
And then he didn’t move, I didn’t move.
No.
This was all a dream and I was going to wake up any minute.
“Stay away from my friend,” Mira stood in front of me as I was lost wherever I was.
A girl who looked like my age spoke.
“Move girl, or I will crave you up.”
Mira picked up a stone and rushed the girl.
“How dare you come and attack us in our own land!”
She held the stone and hit the girl in the head hard and I thought she was going to win.
The girl was also very fast and she brought out her blade.
Just when Mira was coming for her, she stabbed her in the side but she didn’t stop.
She kept stabbing Mira. “Please stop!"
I screamed but she kept it up until Mira’s body was lifeless and leaning on her.
“I warned you,” the girl said as she threw Mira’s body on the fall.
I looked around, my mom was dead, my mate was dead and so was my best friend Mira and all because me.
No. It was all because of them. My wolf said.
I felt power like I had never felt before.
“I will kill you for what you've done, I will kill you all!”
I woke up immediately and saw a worried Sarah staring at me.
“What happened?” I said, my head felt like I was hit by a car.
“You were shaking, I wanted to call Liam but I couldn’t leave you.” I tried to understand what she was saying but my head was aching too much.
“What happened?” Liam asked as he walked into the room.
“It’s nothing, I was just having a bad dream,” I said quickly.
Liam didn’t believe me, he looked at her. “Tell me what happened.”
“I was sleeping and then I woke up and she was just shaking like she was in pain.”
“But I wasn’t,” I snapped and Sarah moved back.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do that,” I muttered.
“Elena, your eyes were black just now,” Liam said and Sarah h nodded.
“My eyes?”
“Yes, maybe it was your wolf,” Liam said.
But it didn’t feel like it, it felt the same way with how I felt in the dream when I wanted to kill people.
I froze. Was I about to kill Sarah just now?
“Elena, what’s on your mind?” Liam frowned.
“Nothing,” I lied.
“Sarah, can you go downstairs? I want to talk to Elena,” Liam said.
“Okay, see you in the hall,” she said as she left.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” I said.
“I can see that you’re lying,” he moved closer. “So tell me what it is?”
“It’s nothing, I’m just having a really bad headache from the dream I had,” I muttered.
“What dream?” he frowned.
I had planned to tell Liam everything immediately I woke up but after hearing what Liam just said about my eyes, I held my tongue back.
“I don’t really remember much but I keep seeing a woman,” I lied.
Liam’s face softened. “Do you think you know this woman?”
“I don’t think so but I’m fine, I always have weird dreams.”
Liam stroked my hair. “Okay, let’s go down and have breakfast, after that I have something to tell you.”
My stomach dropped. What did he want to tell me?
“Okay,” I said as I took his hand and we went downstairs for breakfast.
