Chapter 91 CHAPTER 91
Xavier's POV
I needed something strong. My fingers hurt from all the struggle and hitting. I turned the key in the lock and pulled it out. I had no idea what I was going to do anymore, perhaps I was wrong all along thinking I loved her. She was just too much problem.
I heard her pounding the door and screaming loudly as I took the stairs down to the living room. I looked around the room.
“Fucking bitches.”
There was also the problem with the nurse in the other room. She was an extra burden that I had to get rid off.
I looked outside through the window. It was quiet, just like every other morning in the estate. The lawn mower was still mowing a few houses away. I pulled down all the curtains and shut the windows lock. I needed a new game plan.
I poured myself a drink and sat on the sofa. I didn't plan to leave Barcelona anytime soon. This was supposed to be my permanent place. I'd bought the house to make sure there was little or no disturbances. A lot of my savings had gone into this movement. Only for that ungrateful bitch to waste it.
I was the one saving her and giving her life a new chance. How could she not see that? Women didn't deserve love. It was the same way my mother had moved on from my father before his body went cold in the grave. But this one was mine to deal with.
I called Kyle.
“Hey,” I said.
“Hey,” he responded. “Xavi?”
“Yes. I need you to send some more money into my account, Kyle.”
“Some more?” He repeated. “You just took out a large sum recently. “
“I know,” I said, impatiently. “Stuff came up. I'll tell you about it later. Send the same amount you sent last time and make it as discreet as possible.”
“Alright, Xavi. I hope you're enjoying the air in Barcelona?”
The air had just gotten polluted. It might be time to leave.
“Yeah. I'll talk to you later.”
Now I needed to know just how much damage that witch had done. I took out her phone and opened her browser history again. Her search had started the previous day. From the words she was typing it was obvious her memories were back. Or at least a significant part of it.
Then I saw the questions about the nine tailed fox. There were a couple of questions from identity to special abilities.
“Why the fuck is she asking about nine tailed foxes?”
I scrolled on and on and the undeniable truth faced me, she was one of them. I suddenly remembered how my mother would warn me about moving close to her when we grew up together.
“She's a witch,” she'd say. “She can use magic on you.”
I chuckled. She really was a witch. Were the stories of her using black magic on Alpha Michael true then?
“A fox,” I said out loud. “You sly bastard.”
There were a lot of scary legends about foxes but like every human variation form, they had their weakness.
Iron.
A loud ringing sound startled me. It was Nurse Gwen’s phone. I grunted and flipped the phone down. Then i placed it on silence mode.
I finished my drink and pushed the stool away. There wasn't any evidence that she had contacted anyone. I guess I had caught her just in time. She really played me for a fool.
Since I knew little about nine tailed foxes, I decided she might have some others means of communication I didn't know about. It was better to leave.
I returned to her room by afternoon and unlocked the door. She was lying on the floor, asleep. I stepped into the room carefully. I wasn't familiar with the extent of her strength yet but I'd read a few things that could keep her weak.
I walked to the large mirror. With a powerful swing of my hand, I crushed it and the pieces crumbled to the desk and the floor, she woke up frightened.
“What are you doing?” she asked, moving away.
I walked closer to her. “Ensuring you don't outsmart me,” I said.
“Get away from me,” she cried out.
I grabbed her hand and placed an iron chain around it.
“Let's see how you'll be able to do your black magic now,” I said.
“I don't…”
“You thought I wouldn't find out your little secret, huh? A fox. Is that how you managed to twist Alpha Michael around your finger? You've been pretending to be the victim while you're the villain all along.”
“I didn't do any such thing,” she said, her voice low. I could tell that she was weak. “Please let me go.”
I walked to the window and looked outside. The mowing man had stopped working.he was taking a break under a shed. I could see a car parked in front of him. A man was talking to him. I clenched my fist in frustration. I needed this man to be done so I could move without any suspicions. Was he going to use the whole day mowing lawns?
“You know, mother used to warn me about you,” I said, facing her. “She said your mother was a witch snd I believed it. But I didn't believe it when she called you one. I looked into those eyes of yours and thought, a witch can't be this beautiful.” I pulled her head up. She winced. “I was wrong. Perhaps you cast those spell on me too. You made me yearn for you all my life.”
“I loved you only as a brother,” she said.
“You used your evil powers to taunt me and then you said no to me to mock me. Not anymore,” I said, letting go of her. “I'll make sure i cure you of that demon and make you mine.”
Just then, the doorbell rang. I looked up. Who the fuck was that?
“I'll be right back,” I said to her, leaving the room. I locked the door and walked downstairs.
