Chapter 107 Untitled Chapter
I’ll destroy you utterly.”

The sorceress had said and she’d meant it. Soon after she’d said those words she had strode over to the wooden table and cupped a black goblet in her hands, clutching it almost reverently.

“Very soon my dream will come to pass.” She whispered, staring mesmerizingly into the swirling contents in the cup.

Then with one swift movement, she drank it completely, closing her eyes in bliss as the brew went down her throat.

When she turned back to glance at Rina, she almost shrank back at what she now saw. If she’d thought that the witch had looked terrifying before, it was nothing compared to what she looked like now.

Her dark eyes were now turned into a startling green, and something swirled in it as if a dark creature now inhabited those irises.

But that wasn’t all. Black spider-like veins started appearing all through her pale skin, like the ones that had appeared in Kai’s during her possession with one of the sorceress shadows.

She released a dark chuckle. “Goddess, I feel stronger already.”

The wall sconces flickered. The air grew thicker. Darker. Denser. And Rina could sense a dark, malevolent presence all around the room. It caused the hair on her nape to stand up.

The others could feel it to, judging by the uneasy looks on their faces and they gave the sorceress a wide berth as she began walking around her creepy altar where Rina’s wolf had been shackled, with her arms and legs splayed wide

She didn’t stir once.

Not when Renee started murmuring some ancient, unknown language under her breath, her voice rising with each cadence until Rina was sure that no one inside the cavern could not hear her.

With every word, her movements grew more erratic, her eyes blown wider in twitching excitement.

“Yes… yes… yes.” The words were more hisses than anything. “I can feel it.”

Her arm raised high, the cool blade of the ceremonial dagger reflecting the flickering light as she brought it down hard.

On the center of her palm.

Instantly black blood began to spill out. But the sorceress didn't flinch.

Instead she walked again until she stood at the head of the altar and stretching forth her hand, the blood began dripping onto the forehead of the unconscious wolf.

“What the fuck?”

Rina tried to move, to stand up and do something, anything, instead of watching helplessly as her literal destruction took place but it was like she’d been spelled. Lifting one arm felt like she had the weight of the world on her shoulders and even if she could, the two mercs had come close to her, not touching but close enough to warn her not to try anything.

But luckily for her she should still speak.

“Stop!” She ordered, her voice ringing sharp and clear in the cold space.

Surprisingly, Renee did pause, her brows drawing together in displeasure.

“Yes, what is it?” She snapped, all guttural like, like her vocal cords were on fire.

Good question. Just what could she say that would stop the sorceress from destroying her?

Nothing.

Out of the corner of her eyes, she could see the bitch Samorah smirk, like she found Rina’s fear amusing.

And all of a sudden, Rina wasn’t afraid anymore.

No, she was blazingly angry. Seething, in fact.

“If you do this, Lyon will come after you. He won’t stop until you’re dead.” She made sure to hold eye contact with them all. “He will destroy each and everyone of you for killing his mate, I promise you that.”

Samorah’s smirk erased. The others shifted uncomfortably. Something like fear flashing across their features.

Good. It was good for them to be frightened.

“You’ve heard of him, of his beast, of his power. He single-handedly fought against a thousand wolves and won. Do you really want that kind of power against you?”

“You still have a chance.” She told them imploringly without cracking. “You can stop this and walk away from here with your lives intact. You don’t have to die for another’s stupidity.”

There was a beat of silence as feet shuffled.

Suddenly Renee chuckled. “Well then, what are you all waiting for? Do it. If you date.”

When no one moved, she chuckled, thoroughly amused. “As you can see, Rina, they are more afraid of me than your absentee mate.” Her eyes darkened angrily . “Now it's time to end this. For good this time.”

She raised the blood stained dagger high, aiming for Rina’s heart this time when the doors to the cavern suddenly opened with a bang and palace troops swarmed into the room.

And leading them was one furious man.

Lyon’s beta and best friend.

Cain.
