Chapter 268 148| Alpha Kings.
AXEL
Buses were used to return the rescued girls to their families, and they were all excited to see them again. Daisy had mentioned that the girls would wake up within five hours, so all they needed to do was wait.
After all the victims had been returned to their respective homes, all Alpha Kings, with their Gammas, Betas, and Lunas, gathered in the conference room at our pack in the north. The Witches’ clan leader was also present.
Zara acquiring the Olga’s power had become an emergency that needed us to join heads to fight. She had been wreaking havoc through every kingdom, killing everyone that came her way. It was only a matter of time before she destroyed everything and everyone. Before she did that, we had to stop her.
“Elder Kaelin, you are the witches’ clan leader. So I believe you are in the best position to tell us more about this Olga and how we can stop her,” the western King, Alpha King Theron Westeron, muttered.
“The Olga is very powerful, and it has been in existence before any of us here were born. Before even our grandfathers were born. It was sealed away in an artifact and had been under the protection of every clan leader that ascended the throne.”
“Then how did it come to be in the possession of the witch that’s causing chaos around the world?” he asked.
“That’s because my brother, who was supposed to be the clan leader, stole it before he went rogue with the intention to use it for himself. And Nina is his daughter,” Elder Kaelin explained.
Alpha Theron nodded his head slowly. “So what’s the way forward? How do we capture her?”
“The Olga’s power is very powerful. It is a very deadly spirit that causes nothing but ruin and havoc. It destroys everything that comes its way. If it hasn’t already consumed her, it soon will. It will push her to the deepest part of her mind and take control of her body. And once that happens, we might never be able to stop it. It will destroy us all.”
“Then we kill her before that happens,” Silas groaned.
When he arrived here, he was so pissed to see Violet, but he didn’t act on it and only promised to return with her to the south. I was never going to let that happen. Her place was right here, beside me and nowhere else.
“We could only kill the body. But the spirit cannot be killed. It could jump into the next available host,” Elder Kaelin darted his gaze between everybody present in the room, his voice holding a sense of danger. “The Olga cannot be killed. It can only be trapped.”
“Even if we trap it, where would it be kept? We cannot trust the witches with such anymore,” Emmett spoke.
“Where else do you want to keep it? In the east?” I snapped at him.
His nose flared, and he clenched a fist. But he didn’t act on his emotions and flicked his eyes away.
Motherfucker.
“He might be a young Alpha King, but the boy is right,” the western King said.
“I understand your concerns, but trust me, the safest place for it is with the witches,” the northern Alpha King chimed in. “The wolves cannot handle such power.”
“What if we just throw it into the ocean? That way, no one would be in possession of it and no one would steal it,” Emmett gave his stupid suggestion.
“And risk it being found by some random person?” Elder Kaelin shook his head. “We cannot do that.”
“I think I have an idea,” Daisy suddenly spoke, and we all turned to look at her.
Her gaze alternated between her mother and grandfather. “The Olga cannot be destroyed, right?”
Elder Kaelin nodded. “Our ancestors had tried everything possible to destroy it, but couldn’t. Until they resorted to sealing it into that artifact.”
Daisy then flicked her gaze between the rest of us. “What if it gets sealed into something that can be detached? Then we share it among all leaders to be the protector of each fragment? That way, it would be more secure. To activate it, it has to be whole again. And with each part being protected by different leaders, making it whole again would be a difficult feat. What do you think?”
“That’s incredible!” Uncle Lucius muttered, seemingly proud of his daughter.
“All those in favor of what she has just suggested, raise your hands,” the northern King said, and went ahead to be the first to raise his hand.
I raised my hand, Violet was next, before every other person in the room did.
“Now that we have all decided on what to do, how do we execute it?” the western King asked.
“We lure her out,” Lila muttered.
The western King turned to look at her. “How?”
“With nightmares. With magic, we could make her have disturbing nightmares. She’ll know it was induced, and she’ll know where to come,” Lila explained.
“She’s extraordinarily powerful right now. How do we know she will not destroy us all within the blink of an eye?” Emmett asked.
“We’ll be prepared for her. Once she arrives, we’ll waste no time in locking her into the new artifact,” Elder Kaelin said, darting his gaze between everyone in the room. “Whatever was discussed in this room remains in this room. This must not reach anyone else’s ear. Nina must not find out about our plans. We’ll only be successful in capturing her if we use the element of surprise. Are we on the same page?”
“Yes,” voices echoed through the room.
“Very well then. Amelia, Daisy, and I will go ahead and have the new artifact prepared. You’ll all be notified when it is done,” he told us.
“I believe Alpha King Maximus would not mind accommodating us in his pack until then,” the western King turned to look at my father.
Father nodded his head. “Sure. You are welcome to remain in this pack until the Olga has been captured and sealed.”
