Chapter 267 147| Promises.
AXEL

“No!” I screamed at the top of my lungs when Zara disappeared. Rage and frustration blasted through me.

Zara, Nina, or whoever she was, had been within my reach all this while, and I had no idea who she was. I would find her and end her no matter what it took. Of that, I promised myself. But first, we had to find a way to save the innocent girls lying unconscious on the floor.

“What did she do to them?” I quickly asked as I rushed towards one and felt her pulse. Her pulse was barely noticeable, but she was still alive. However, she would die soon if no measures were taken to save her.

“The spell she used to activate the Olga drained them of their blood. They would die any minute,” Lila said, shaking her head disappointedly.

“No, we cannot let them die.” Fear was evident in Violet’s voice as she moved to feel one of their pulses. “They are still alive. There has to be something we can do about it.”

“Unless you can carry all hundred of them to the hospital and get over a hundred people to donate their blood within minutes, they are all going to die,” Lila sighed.

“Then we are going to save as many as we can,” Mother groaned as she rushed towards two girls and picked them up, ready to rush them to the hospital.

“I’ll contact Alpha Richard now and see if we can get students to donate blood,” Father muttered.

“Wait,” Daisy suddenly said.

We all turned to look at her.

“I think I can help,” she said.

My eyes narrowed. “How?”

“Magic.” She stretched her hands forward and started chanting something in their witches’ language. Her voice grew louder and louder, using her strength to cast the spell. Until suddenly, all hundred girls gasped awake.

“What did you do?” The Alpha King asked, confused.

“She increased their blood volume,” Aunty Amelia muttered in amazement.

Lila also looked astonished as she spoke. “You might just be the most powerful witch to ever live.”

Most of the girls jerked up in panic, fear radiating through them as they attempted to run away. But Father quickly assured them.

“It’s okay, girls. You have been saved,” he said with a calm voice.

But that didn’t seem to calm them as they continued scrambling around.

“They are disoriented. It’ll take more than that to calm them,” Daisy said and chanted another spell. All of them collapsed to the floor again, losing consciousness.

“What did you do?” I asked her.

“I simply put them to sleep. It’s best you take them to their various homes so that they’d wake up surrounded by those they love,” she said.

“What the hell is happening here?” We suddenly heard Alpha Richard’s voice, and we all turned to look at him.

“Alpha Richard.” The Alpha King inched closer to him and folded his arms across his chest. “I was going to come and explain everything to you.”

His eyes remained fixed on the girls on the floor. “Are those the missing girls?”

“Yes,” Father replied, “and they have been here all along.”

The rage that burned through him was evident in his features. “Who did this?” he asked with so much venom in his voice.

He became even more enraged when he learned of the culprit, his growl reverberating through the forest. He went on to narrate how the school had to be shut down with all students being returned to their respective packs. He had tried to contact Father earlier to tell him about it but couldn’t reach him.

Alpha Richard looked at Violet. “Your father has been looking for you. You should let him know where you are.”

“He doesn’t need to know,” Violet grumbled.

“If you don’t, I will. Because I made sure that every other student got handed over to their parents. You aren’t an exception.” He pulled out his phone to call Silas, but I quickly stopped him.

I was next to him the next moment, snatching the phone from his hand.

“Hand it over, now!” he groaned.

“Alpha Richard. Please. Don’t. You do not know what would happen if we are not together,” I retorted.

“Axel, he is right. Her parents need to know where she is,” Mother muttered.

I turned to look at her. “You do not understand. We cannot be apart. We would both fall ill and possibly die if we stay apart for too long.”

Confusion spread across her face. “What do you mean? Being away from your mate would weaken you, yes. But it’s not a death sentence.”

“For some mates, it is,” Uncle Lucius said. “It’s very rare, but it happens. Some mate bonds are that strong.”

Dread washed over Father’s face. “So it’s either they are together forever or die. They cannot reject each other.”

“Till death do them part,” Uncle Lucius muttered.

“What should I say? Interesting or terrifying?” Aunt Amelia said, folding her arms over her chest.

Just as she finished saying this, a rolled piece of paper suddenly dropped before her.

Confusion crossed her features as she leaned in and picked up the paper.

She gasped in shock as she read it.

“What does it say?” The Alpha King quickly asked.

She looked up, darting her gaze between all of us. “It’s a message from my father. Nina has succeeded in completing the activation process. She now possesses unfathomable powers and is on a killing spree of witches’ elders. She kept mentioning that she was going for my father, the Witches’ clan leader, next, before going for the Alpha Kings. She’s promising to take over the world.”
