Chapter 261 141| Kidnapped.
AXEL
“Violet?” I tried to mind-link my mate when she hadn’t returned after a while. But I couldn’t reach her.
“Violet?!” I tried again. But nothing.
Panic engulfed my entire being, and without thinking twice, I rushed to the restroom, and I didn’t care that it was for females only when I burst inside. I checked everywhere, stall by stall, but Violet was nowhere to be found.
Fuck. I should’ve insisted on following her. Where the hell was she? Why couldn’t I reach her?
“Have you seen Violet anywhere?” I quickly mind-linked Mason.
“No. Why? I thought she was with you?” he responded.
“She was, but she had to use the restroom, but now I can’t find her anymore.”
“Wait, restroom? I checked Zara’s location five minutes ago, and she was in the restroom,” he informed me.
“Fuck!” I groaned, rage and fear coursing through me. If Zara was the kidnapper, then maybe she had taken Violet. I had to find her by any means possible.
“Track her location. Where is she right now?” I quickly asked.
“I’m on it, give me a second. I’ll...” he trailed off and continued, “she’s in the woods.”
Without wasting a second, I sprinted out of the ballroom and headed to the woods.
I mind-linked Daisy on my way, “I think Violet has been abducted by Zara. You need to come to the woods now, please.”
If she had already cloaked them, then I’d need Daisy to uncloak her. I couldn’t even fathom the emotions I was feeling right now. Fear consumed me at the possibilities of not seeing Violet again, but I couldn’t allow it to bring me down. I had to set my head straight and capture Zara before she left this vicinity. Before it was too late.
“Axel!” Violet suddenly screamed through the mind-link, her voice distressed.
I stopped immediately, looking aimlessly around in case she was near.
“Where are you? What happened to you?” I quickly asked her.
“Zara. She’s the kidnapper. She kidnapped and cloaked me. She knocked me out, but I managed to wake up while she was dragging me through the woods. I am pretending to still be unconscious so she wouldn’t knock me out again. Please help.” Her voice shook with fear.
“Can you tell where exactly you are in the woods?”
“We just passed by the lake,” she told me.
“I am coming for you, Violet. I will save you. I will not let anything happen to you.” I ended the mind-link immediately so that I could mind-link Daisy.
“Where are you? She’s around the lake. She’s cloaked,” I told her.
“I took her hairbrush and I am using a location spell to find her already. Indeed, it’s leading me to the lakeside.”
“Hurry up, please, and be careful,” I said and ended the mind-link.
“Violet,” I mind-linked her again, allowing my wolf to take over as we sprinted towards the lake area.
“Stay with me, okay? I am coming for you.”
“She has discovered that I am awake.” She suddenly screamed in panic, “she’s knocking me ou...”
She trailed off.
Fuck.
Orion pushed his body past its limit while using his heightened senses to perceive her scent and trail her.
I could perceive the scent, but it was low, perhaps because she was cloaked.
“Found her!” Daisy’s voice rang through my head.
“Where are you?”
“Just after the lake.”
Orion ran even faster than ever, searching everywhere for her until we sighted Daisy at a distance.
She seemed to be fighting with an invisible force, and I knew immediately that it was Zara.
She got flung against the tree but quickly regained her balance, pushing her hands forward and casting spells.
“If you can uncloak them, please do so that I can help you,” I yelled at Daisy.
“I am trying to,” she screamed in response.
While trying to fight with what was ahead of her, she directed her palm towards a particular place and cast a spell before immediately returning her attention to what was before her.
Violet’s unconscious figure materialized out of thin air in the corner Daisy had just cast a spell on. The spell was to uncloak Violet.
Without wasting a second, I shifted to my human form, then rushed to her and carried her in my arms, my heart beating rapidly against my chest.
“Leave with her. Protect her. I will deal with Zara!” Daisy yelled as her back collided with the tree again.
There was no way I was leaving her here to fight the battle alone.
“Mason. Indie. Where are you?” I quickly mind-linked them.
“Behind you,” Indie said, and I turned around to see them running towards me.
“Is she okay?” Indie asked, concerned.
“Where is Zara?” Mason asked.
I nodded towards Daisy. “She’s fighting her.”
“Fuck,” Indie groaned.
I quickly handed Violet over to Mason. “Please take her out of here. Get her somewhere safe. I need to help Daisy fight her.”
“Are you ready? Because I am kicking her motherfucking ass,” Indie groaned, venom dripping through her voice.
“No, go with Mason. Please. You both should protect Violet,” I quickly said.
“No, Axel. We should fight together,” she insisted.
Indie’s fighting skill was nothing to write home about. If she remained here, Zara, being a powerful witch, could easily kill her.
But Indie was strong-headed, and no matter how much I tried to explain to her, she’d still insist on staying to fight.
Sighing exasperatedly, I did what I hated doing to the people I loved—using my powers on them.
I focused my attention on her and infiltrated her mind. “You will turn around and leave with Mason. Understood?”
She nodded instantly. “Understood.”
“Good.”
Mason glared at me, as if wanting to fight me for controlling Indie like that. But he just turned around and stormed away without uttering a word.
I returned my attention to the fight happening behind.
“Don’t be a chicken and show yourself, coach!” I growled.
