Chapter 262 142| Dangerous and Powerful.
AXEL
When I suspected that it was Zara who had been kidnapping those kids, I truly hoped that I was wrong. She had been a good coach, or so I thought. I never knew it was all a façade. I am just glad that the cat has finally been let out of the bag.
Before now, I had tried reading her mind, but like always, I couldn’t. She always had a barrier up to protect herself from me even before I started suspecting her. I could’ve tried to force my way through and even command her to tell me the truth, but I was being careful in case it was just speculation and she wasn’t the kidnapper.
I didn’t want her to feel offended. Thinking about it now, I should’ve gone ahead with forcing my way into her mind and not caring about how she felt.
Daisy continued fighting fiercely with her, casting spell after spell.
“Where is she? Tell me so that I get her and twist her neck!” I growled.
“Axel, stay back. She is really dangerous and powerful,” Daisy screamed in response.
I didn’t care. I wasn’t afraid of her. I wasn’t called the most powerful Alpha for no reason. Killing me wouldn’t be an easy feat.
“Show yourself, Zara. Or are you afraid that you’ll die by my hands when you do?” I growled.
“You speak too highly of yourself, Axel!” she groaned as she suddenly materialized out of thin air. “I am not afraid of you. I will twist and crush you if I wanted. I’d still do that. But I want to do it slowly. Your father will pay for every single thing.”
“Who are you really? And why are you doing this?” I growled with rage as I started sprinting towards her.
But she lifted her hands and cast a spell that sent me flying against the tree.
Daisy immediately cast a spell that flung Zara against another tree.
She picked herself up immediately, so did I.
“You want to know who I am?” She laughed evilly, tilting her head backwards. “I am who you should’ve never trusted.”
I raised a furious brow. “What do you mean?”
“Do you think I volunteered to be the coach of the Wolves’ Lacrosse team because I care about the wolves?” She chuckled. “You are so naïve. I joined that team because of you.”
“Because of me?” I asked in shock.
“Yes,” she nodded vigorously. “I wanted to get close to you, know you inside out, before attacking you and killing you. I know killing you wouldn’t be easy, so I had to carefully figure you out.”
Confusion washed over me. My eyes narrowed. “And why are you so interested in me?”
“You are not the one I am interested in,” she spat with venom. “It is your father who murdered my father in cold blood before my eyes, and I want to avenge my father. I will kill every single person he ever loved, make him suffer, before going for him!”
“Who is your father?” I quickly asked.
“Gabriel. I am sure you would’ve heard that name before,” she spat.
Of course, I had heard that name before. The infamous witch who was Elder Kaelin’s brother. He was killed in our pack after trying to destroy it with the invisible army.
But something wasn’t adding up here. Gabriel only had two daughters, Lila and Nina. Could Zara be a hidden daughter?
“I thought Gabriel had only two daughters. Nina and Lila?” I voiced out my confusion.
She laughed hysterically, and as I looked into her eyes, I finally saw the evil that lay within them.
“You all are so naïve!” she shouted.
“Talk, Zara. Tell me everything I need to know. Tell me where the girls you have been kidnapping are. Tell me everything!” I could feel the vein on my forehead popping as I began to stalk towards her.
“The girls are gone and there’s no getting them back. I will activate the Olga with them and come back for every single one of you. I will not rest until you have all perished. Mark my words!”
“You think you can take all of us even with the Olga?” I growled as I continued stalking towards her. “You are so weak and pathetic that you have to resort to the use of such. Return the girls, return the Olga, and we might just spare you. If you don’t, then we’ll send you to wherever Gabriel was sent to. And that is hell.”
“You think you can threaten me just because you are the—” she made the quotation gesture—“‘the most powerful Alpha to exist in a millennium? You can’t…”
She trailed off and let out a loud scream when I tried to forcefully get into her head.
“Get out of my head!” she screamed, blocking me out.
But I didn’t stop, and I could swear that I saw a flicker of fear in her eyes.
“Fuck!” she shouted.
Just then, Daisy began to cast a spell, and whatever that spell was, it was making Zara roll hysterically on the floor.
“Die!” Daisy growled.
“Is that going to kill her?” I immediately asked Daisy.
“Yes.”
“Stop!” I growled. “We can’t kill her yet. We have to find out where those kids are, and she’s the only one that can tell us. Killing her now might mean losing them forever.”
Daisy stopped immediately, though her hands were still stretched forward.
Zara groaned in so much pain, holding her belly as she looked up at me. Her eyes were bloodshot, blood running down her nostrils.
“I am coming back for you, and like I promised, I will kill you all!” she groaned through clenched teeth.
Before Daisy and I could say anything, she suddenly disappeared into thin air.
I snapped my gaze at Daisy. “Can you see her?”
Her shoulders dropped, a grim look on her face as she muttered, “She has teleported.”
