Chapter 162 The Twin Bond

Chapter 162 The Twin Bond
Nyra's POV

The uneasiness I felt in the mall didn't stop, and if anything, it became even worse. I wasn't sure what to make of it, seeing as Viktor was already in the dungeon and our ability was still known only among a few people.

Dropping the bags I was holding, I went in search of Alyssa. But she wasn't in her room which wasn't strange since she was always with the girls except Zayne was around and he wasn't.

"Have you seen Alyssa?” I asked Aria, and she frowned.

"She should be in her room.” She replied, "I actually need to help her sort the things we got. But I think it's better we leave it for when they finally move." She continued but I was barely paying attention.

“She's not there."

“I think I saw her going to their new place." Elara said, joining us.

I immediately started going in search of her much to their confusion. But they still followed me without asking questions.

“Luna Alyssa didn't come here though." One of the men working in the nursery replied when we asked about her. The girls turned to look at me.

My chest tightened, I didn't want to jump into conclusion that something bad had happened to her but the uneasiness didn't make it any better. “Where are you?" I asked through our mindlink, something I should've started with.

"Alyssa, can you hear me? Where are you?" But there was no response and I immediately felt some kind of shift. "Something is wrong.” I told Aria and Elara who looked confused.

"What are you talking about?” Aria said, "she was literally just here."

“I don't know, I can feel it and now she's not responding to my mindlink."

Without waiting for her to respond, I ran back to the Pack house where we met Aileen and Lori pacing around. “Alyssa is nowhere to be found, have you seen her?” Aileen asked.

"No, we're looking for her too.” Aria said, “Nyra felt something was off so we went in search of her.”

Tristan ran towards us before Aileen could ask whatever question she had in mind. “She has been taken.” He announced and I froze, guilt washing over me. I shouldn't have ignored that feeling.

“What are you talking about?” Lori asked and Tristan explained that Alpha Zayne had mindlinked him to check on her in the hospital but on getting there, she was nowhere to be found.

"Jace is having the warriors search for her.” He finished.

Aileen slapped a hand over her mouth, "oh no!” She cried, “who could have done this?" She asked, but I couldn't think of anyone.

"I'm going to check the cameras."

“What about the members at the hospital?" Lori asked, “at least one of them would've seen something."

We nodded, “or her scent? We should be able to follow that." Elara said, “whoever it is shouldn't have gone far."

Tristan thought about it for a moment. “Aileen and Aria can question the members…the doctor said he let a nurse give her the IV. Find the nurse." He said, then turned to Lori. “Make sure the doctor is telling the truth." And he was gone.

Everybody ran to do what had been assigned to them but I remained in my spot. “Can't you do something?" Elara asked. I hadn't realised she didn't follow them.

“I'm trying to think.”

"You're a witch and you're her twin, which means you have an advantage over whoever took her."

“But I can't reach her,” I told her, "whoever took her must've drugged her to make her unable to reach anyone."

“Can't you do that thing where you touch something of hers and you see what actually happened?"

My brows arched, "that…I'm not sure.”

"Then you'll try.” She said, holding my hand and dragging me towards the hospital. For someone who was using quiet, she was quite strong. “My mate can be thorough sometimes, he wants to make sure that I'm never weak if I ever come face to face with danger and I'm alone." She explained as if reading my mind.

“Uhmm…"

“I spent a lot of time in the dungeon at my former Pack until Beta Jace helped me escape.” She told me.

“Can you read my mind?"

She smiled, "I wish, but I think you're pretty easy to read.” She replied and I frowned because I've always heard the opposite.

"That's a first." I admitted.

“I know you have the ability to also find your sister but you're scared of hurting her in the process because you don't trust yourself."

“And you're sure you're not a witch too?" I asked, wondering how she was able to pick that when even I, haven't been able to put how I felt into words.

"I'm sure, and it's the same way I know that you won't hurt her.” She continued, "So let's go save Luna Alyssa."

We arrived at the hospital and everyone was running helter-skelter, looking for Alyssa. We found the room where she was before she was taken.

“Try sitting on the bed maybe." Elara said and I did but nothing happened. “Touch it and think of her. You can throw in some spells too."

I smiled, "are you going to tell me what spells to throw in too?"

“Nope, that's all you.” She said, and as I opened my mouth to say something in response, I was dragged into a world that I didn't understand, one that Alyssa was lying on the bed and a small smile playing on her lips.

"A-Alyssa?" I called, uncertain if I was imagining things. “Alyssa." I called again but there was no response as a girl wearing a nurse uniform entered.

"Don't worry Luna, it's not going to hurt." The girl said, but something felt off.

"Stop!” I screamed, but she couldn't hear as she slipped whatever the content of the injection into her arm.

She frowned. "That feels different."

The girl smiled, "Don't fight it, it'll pass in a second.”

I watched as Alyssa lost consciousness and the nurse made sure she was completely out before bringing out a phone and placing a call to someone. “It's done.” she told whoever was on the other end of the call. "When can I expect the remaining balance?"

Whatever the person made her smile as she ended the call. I watched two men, whose faces were covered enter the room, acknowledge the nurse before carrying Alyssa.

Without wasting time, I followed them outside the room and saw as they put her into a car. I managed to climb in after them even though they couldn't see me as the car drove off.

We left the Pack behind and drove for what felt like forever before the car finally stopped in front of a house, hidden deep inside the forest. And the two men carried Alyssa inside.

I followed them through the entrance and watched as they laid her on a bed in one of the rooms.

"Alpha said we shouldn't hurt her," one of them muttered. “I can't believe she's the same person." He added.

"I know. We're only here to make sure she doesn't escape before he arrives."

They walked out, locking the door behind them.
I looked around, memorizing everything I could but a soft groan came from the bed.

My head snapped toward Alyssa as her eyelids fluttered open. "Alyssa?" I whispered, rushing to her side.

Her unfocused eyes slowly moved around the room before stopping where I stood.

"Nyra..." she breathed weakly, “you're here?"

I was torn between being confused and excited that she could see me as I reached out to grab her hand.

Before our fingers could meet, the world around me disappeared and I was back in the hospital room and on the bed with everyone staring at me.

"Nyra?" Elara called softly, grabbing my shoulder.

My chest rose and fell so hard it felt like my heart would beat its way out of my chest as I looked at them.

"I know where she is.”
