Rome.

Osaki, that name still sends shrills down my spine. I had found out about him when I was young, I had never known that I had such a creature in me. While growing up, I only knew that I had a wolf, I never knew there was a spiritual demon inside of me.

“What do you mean by the more you love me, the more the pain?” Natalia asked. I was lying on her bed.

“When Emerald was alive, Osaki never for once acted like this, it seems there is something about you,” I explained to her.

“Is he scared of me?” She asked and I nodded gently. That was the simple explanation for the way he was behaving. Which is very weird and dangerous.

“Yes, and he’ll anything in other to destroy you,” I said, she didn’t seem baffled at all by my announcement. She looked more interested in knowing about Osaki. I could hear his groans but not his words, he had not spoken to me in eleven years, so I wondered why he had suddenly returned.

“Hmm, I see.” She simply said. She got up from where she was seated and walked towards the cupboard where a cup of water was placed, she took a gulp.

“You know, your father made Rowland text me about my safety around you because of Osaki.” She said, she looked fearless and nothing like the woman I had tossed around like a ball in the past.

“They are right, you have to leave me alone, that is the only way that you’ll be safe,” I said. She smiled.

“I’m not scared of a demon, nor you.” She said fiercely while taking calm strides toward me.

“The only reason why I was scared of you in the past was that you destroyed my family right before my eyes.” She said, I felt a sudden grief wash over me.

“I’m sorry about that, but it wasn’t my fault, I think it’s time you know the truth,” I said while setting up.

“What truth?” She asked. She moved closer to me.

I stared at her calmly as she eagerly waited for me to relay the information to her. “That day, ten years ago when I had destroyed the whole Dragon species,” I said and nodded eagerly, waiting for me to say the truth.

“The black magic I had used was not mine and I wasn’t in control of it as well,” I said, she looked at me weirdly, trying to understand what I was saying.

“But you wanted revenge, what are you trying to say?” She asked.

“I only wanted to kill your brother for killing my mate,” I said firmly, I could boldly see the fire in her eyes as I uttered that statement.

“Wow, and you finally did.” She said sarcastically.

“What I’m trying to say is that Osaki was the one that destroyed the whole dragon species, and you wanna know why?” I asked, she didn’t say a thing and kept staring at me as though I was crazy.

“What are you trying to say?” She asked softly.

“Osaki destroyed the whole species because you were amongst them and he wanted to kill you because you were my mate,” I said, she still looked confused.

“So you mean he knew I was your mate the very moment he saw me?” She asked and I nodded.

“He wanted to make sure you died, and when you had returned, he wanted me to end you,” I said.

“Then he must be very dangerous to have made you end a species of innocent lives.” She said in realization and I nodded.

“And trust me, he’ll do it again, especially now that I love you,” I said, she didn’t seem moved by my words, she stared plainly at the floor, and she seemed busy trying to figure things out.

“Then how do we stop him?” She asked and I nodded no.

“There is no cure, it’s time I die,” I said.

“But you’re immortal,” she said.

“My demon is what makes me immortal, but now he wants to end it all, why not let him?” I asked she nodded no.

“Why are you willing to let him win?” She asked. I looked deep into her eyes, and I couldn’t find an atom of love in them toward me.

“I’m an evil person and I’ve caused harm to people a lot, there’s no point in fighting for my life,” I said, she sat close to me calmly.

“You think that’s the best? You have a kingdom that needs a king, I hope you still remember that?” She asked, I couldn’t speak.

“I don’t like being Immoral, it’s the worst thing in the world,” I said, she chuckled.

“Why?” She asked softly.

“Because immortality is stupid, it’s sad and useless,” I said and she chuckled.

“Many people wish to be you.” She said and I rolled my eyes.

“No, that’s a terrible decision for them to make,” I said and she chuckled.

“Don’t you wanna be with your family? Hazel and the rest? Don’t you wanna be happy with them around?.” she asked, I nodded no.

“I don’t wanna be with anyone, I’m a curse and I ruin whatever I touch,” I said, she nodded her head sadly.

“So you are going to let Osaki win and fake your life?”

She asked and I nodded.

“That means you’re sane, I won’t let you die on my watch, you’re Rowland’s brother and I shall try my very best to save you.” She said, I burst into laughter and got to my feet.

“There’s nothing you can do to save me, Princess, I’ll die soon and that will be the end of my story forever,” I said and she nodded her head pitifully.

“How long do you have to leave?” She asked.

“A month, I’ve been suffering for a long time now, the pains are a lot and I can’t take it anymore, I don’t wanna be a part of this world any longer.” I declared, leaving here aghast. She stared at me, her eyes filled with tears.

“You’re not alone.” She said.
