Forty seven

Natalia.

I honestly do not understand what is going on, but I don’t wanna get myself worked up. Rome and I have a meeting to attend and I have to try my best to keep my composure.

I was seated in the car and staring at Rome speaking on the phone, he was standing outside while I and the driver were inside. To say I wasn’t terrified about Osaki is an understatement because I can’t imagine how a creature will be the cause of one's suffering, I know he’s going through a lot. Eden wasn’t here at the moment, he got cut up in the place Rome had sent him to, so I have been stuck here alone with him.

He suddenly entered the car and sat next to me, while the driver ignited the car. “Why do you look stressed?” I asked. He snapped his hand, I didn’t get why though.

“My dad wants me to return to the werewolf territory, he says it’s too dangerous for me to be here.” He explained, my mouth went wide as I stared at the driver, hoping he didn’t hear any of what Rome had said.

“He can’t hear us, I blocked it,” Rome said, I took in a deep breath.

“Are you going back then?” I asked and he nodded.

“That’s the only way to save these people, or else if Osaki takes over, he’ll destroy them.” He said, my heart skipped a beat, Osaki must be more dangerous than I thought.

“Okay, if that’s the best,” I said, I felt my heart breaking as I uttered those words, for some reason it hurt me to think about it.

“Will you come with me?” He asked.

“No, I have a lot to do over here,” I said, I could see the anger in his eyes as I stared into them, he wasn’t at all happy about my revelation.

“What is it that you have to do over here?” He asked, I didn’t respond to him. I kept staring outside as the driver drove, I didn’t wanna be around him, that’s why I said that.

“Answer me, Natalia.” He slowly began pulling my chin over to face him, I looked down and then back up.

“You and I both know why, I want you away from me,” I said. I could see the hurt in his eyes but I dare not show that I care about him.

“You are right about yourself Rome, you ruin whatever you touch,” I said, I knew my words pierced his heart dearly. He didn’t say a thing, he stared into my eyes deeply.

“But your eyes and emotions say otherwise, you care about me.” He said and I cackled.

“Yes, you’re right, I care about you, but I shall never let you ruin my life the way you had in the past,” I said, I placed my arm gently on his and tossed it away. In a swift motion, he grabbed my face and crashed his lips onto mine.

“Mhm,” I tried getting free but he didn’t let go, I found myself falling for the kiss and letting him get access to my mouth. I suddenly started hitting up and he immediately let go of me, I instantly landed a slap on his face.

“Don’t you ever do that again!” I yelled, I was extremely pissed off that he tried to force himself on me.

“But you liked it, you’re mine, no matter what you might have to say.” He said he wasn’t at all sorry about what he had done he looked pleased with himself.

“I might bear your mark, but I’m not yours! Get that into your fucking thick skull!” I said sternly. He didn’t say a thing and then sat upright in the car while snapping his finger.

“Sir, should I take the shorter road? It seems there’s a holdup over here.” The driver said once the spell was broken. He soon realized he had blabbed nonsense and immediately apologized, though Rome did not say a thing but stare at me with great anger and betrayal in his eyes, I didn’t care what he felt, I disliked everything about him, from the way he spoke down to his ego, he’s too full of himself and thinks he can have whoever he wants.

The car came to a halt in front of a tall building, I didn’t Rome a glance and immediately hopped out of the car. He also hopped out and we walked alongside into the building, he wasn’t and so was I, I had a straight face all through our journey into the office until we reached where the secretary was seated behind a tall slab.

“Where is the meeting being held?” Rome asked arrogantly, the lady had a shocked expression on but as soon as she saw Rome, her eyes turned into dreamy ones and she began to speak calmly.

“Upstairs sir, but the lady isn’t going to be allowed in there.” The secretary said and stared at me as though I was some sort of a whore.

“She’s my assistant, wherever I go, she goes.” He said he didn’t for once let go of his ego.

“I’m sorry sir, but my boss ordered me not to let anyone else in except the name he had given me.” She said, he nodded and turned to me.

“The meeting will be boring anyway, just sit here and wait for me, okay?” He said to me calmly, his eyes softening. I nodded, not wanting to create a scene. I decided to sit in the place where he had instructed, I ignored the secretary's look and brought my phone out of my pocket in other to go through some things. Suddenly, I saw myself standing up, I wasn’t in control and I found myself moving in a direction unknown to me. I tried to fight it but I couldn’t, I walked until I reached a dark area of the office.

“You’re mine now!” Said the voice, her voice calm and dangerous, it was the last I heard before I passed out.
