Chapter Eighty-One: Heartless Monster

“And how exactly was Julia the mastermind behind that all, from where I’m sitting, Jared and his mate Remi, went into that pack for reasons I’m still unaware of and engaged in an altercation with the Alpha’s son where Remi died?” I ask with a raised eyebrow, I want to make sure Julia pays for everything she did as much as the next person, but throwing accusations around that she somehow killed Remi, it isn’t right.

“It is just how I said, Julia was and still very much is obsessed with Jared and not in the way of some crush, she quite frankly, pictures herself with the man and will do anything that she can to keep anyone else from touching him. To her, she’s his mate.” The man explains sitting back in his chair, I know from experience how possessive mates can be, Max is a great example of that, but Julia has a mate! Why would she obsess over one man when the person she was gifted is right in front of her?!

“But as you can imagine, when the time came for Jared to find his true mate, Julia was beyond angry and hated Remi to such a degree, it was inevitable that she was going to turn deadly. That hatred and jealousy would only grow in the cesspit of her mind when she would see the pair all loved up acting how mates should but for Julia, that is exactly what she wanted with Jared, but she couldn’t have it.” He explains where I couldn’t help but wonder if what he was saying was true after all, I mean you wouldn’t write in an old notebook you had to get rid of someone if you were the best of friends.

“For Julia, she was the Queen and before that, the Princess. She had come accustomed to getting everything that she wanted at a drop of the hat and if not, she was easily able to find a way to get it. But to see the man who she wanted more than anything with another woman and she could do nothing about it, that caused the rage to grow even more and by the end, in her mind, the only way to deal with the problem was to get rid of Remi all together.” He says where I have to sit for a moment and do realise something, she was Queen.

“But as you said she was Queen; I’ve only took this role not that long ago and haven’t fully been crowned yet but even I know my every move is being watched so closely. Everyone knows what I’m doing when I’m about, if she would have done all this and gotten caught, isn’t the risk too high?” I ask thinking logically, wanting to get rid of someone isn’t what a Queen should do, they’re supposed to look after their people not put them in harms way!

“You’re correct ma’am, she was Queen, she didn’t care if people knew what she was doing because in her mind, she could get away with anything that she wanted because of her title. This is when she hatched her plan to get her precious Jared. Enlisting the help from her most trusted maids, she sent them out to a well-known potion maker and had her make an effective tasteless poison she could use.” He goes into explain where I held on his every word, it seems as though Julia had some connections whilst she was Queen and wasn’t afraid to use them!

“During the weeks leading up to Remi’s tragic death, Julia would invite the couple over to the palace to have dinner. She was very clear that not a single person was allowed in the kitchen whilst she prepared dinner, something she had never even done for her family let alone some friends of hers. It was in that kitchen where she would put this tasteless poison into Remi’s food adding more and more with each time she would eat. No surprise, Remi began to get very sick, and no one knew why, apart from their dearest friend Julia who was as worried as everyone.” Wade explains putting on a caring voice at the end playing the part of Julia, where I was in complete shock and didn’t actually know what I could say.

“She told me on one occasion that Remi would die eventually anyway but what no one saw coming, Remi and Jared arrived at the dinner as planned with marvellous news, Remi was pregnant.” Wade expressed where I couldn’t help but let out a uh-oh, causing Wade to nod his head. “As you can tell this tipped Julia over the edge, she was the person who should be carrying Jared’s children so she needed to ensure this baby could never be born. So that day, she poured all of the poison into Remi’s food and watched as she eats it. That night, Remi was beyond sick where Julia pulled Jared aside, she tells him it must be the baby that is making Remi sick and if he wanted to help her, she knew of one man who could.” Wade says where I just shake my head in anger, all because of her sick obsession, Remi and that beautiful baby that she was carrying never got a chance at life.

“I’m going to assume it wasn’t a doctor.” I say clear annoyance in my tone and on my face, Wade once again shaking his head at me.

“She told him how this sort of illness can happen when a woman is pregnant, most sadly die due to not having the right medication but there was one pack where women almost never. But the Alpha was a selfish man and would never give the cure to anyone who wasn’t from his pack, anyone else had to die. Jared, who loved his mate to death told Julia that he would do anything that it takes, she knew this and pointed the pair in the direction of The Shadow Wolf Pack.” Wade explains where I had to sit there in shock, this was the missing piece that I was missing!

“That is why the pair were there?!” I exclaim as though I had finally, cracked the case, but according to Wade, it was common knowledge among Julia’s group.

“Julia knew the Alpha never had the remedy to the pain that the Julia was causing Remi, so when Jared returned alone telling Julia the horror of his mates passing, she acted shocked and surprised but, in her mind, she had him all to herself just like she had wanted. She acted normal those first few weeks, she didn’t want Jared to see her coming onto him so soon, but that soon left her mind when she found her beloved Jared, trying to hang himself.” He says where I couldn’t help but start to feel bad for Jared, yes, I know he’s done some bad things and has even killed my own mother! But it seemed he loved his mate to death and trusted the wrong people well, person.

“She knew she would have to do something or the man she has wanted for so long would be gone, she tells him killing himself isn’t the answer. Those bastards who took Remi away from him need to pay and she was going to ensure that as Queen, she makes them pay the full price. Which is when she suggested they set their sights on The Shadow Wolf Pack, she made it seem as though she was as heartbroken and he was and only wanted to make sure her dear friend gets the revenge she deserves. But in actuality, she was the one who had planned it all from the very beginning.” Wade sighs where I’m soon overcome with such anger, Julia is a full-on heartless monster, she doesn’t care who it hurts to get her own way!

“In her mind, if Jared saw how much she deeply cared about him and Remi, he would somehow see how much he loved Julia and throw himself onto her, giving the love that he showed Remi to Julia! But as you know, her little plan didn’t fully go the way she would have hoped.” Wade smiles sitting back in his chair where I nod my head, happy that Julia hadn’t gotten what she wanted.
