Chapter Eighty-Two: List Of Names

A lot had been told me in the short amount of time that I could only sit staring at the wall for a moment, I knew I wanted to know the why aspect, but I didn’t want or expect it to have taken this dark of a turn. There have been so many people who have died in this tragic story and all because one selfish woman, who had everything she could have ever wanted and more, wasn’t happy and thought she could take whatever she wanted without reaping any recuperations!

“I understand this is a lot to take in ma’am, but I worry if I do not tell you all in this moment, I may not get a chance as I have this deep feeling that I’m being watched.” Wade expresses with fear on his face, I had only been around Julia a handful of times but one in particular really stood out to me in this moment.

The day we shared breakfast, and she really gave that poor maid an earful, I was worried she was going to attack her or even me! She even tried to lock me in her home when I attempted to leave, was she going to attack me if I hadn’t thought on my feet and left?! It seems as though Wade knows Julia better than most so if he’s scared, it shows me I also have a reason to be.

“Don’t worry Wade, now you are helping me, I’m going to ensure nothing happens to you. Macauley, is it possible to have guards stationed around Wade until we know this threat is no more?” I ask turning my attention to Macaulay who remained by the door, a look of pure shock on Wade’s face that I would offer to help.

“Of course, ma’am, I will arrange some guards to discreetly remain at Wade’s side until we have the green light that no danger is to present itself.” Macaulay says with a smile and a bow of his head, I just smile happy that he is always so quick to help me before turning to look at Wade.

“You ma’am, are going to be the greatest Queen we have ever seen.” Wade says with such a genuine smile as he looked at me, I once again send him a smile before he continued. “Now back to what I know, the next steps in this huge plan were easy for Julia, she had the perfect weapon at her disposal, her own son Master Griffin. She did some research of her own many years ago on what may happen if her sons were half-bloods, so she was very aware of what amount of control she would have over Master Griffin any time that she wanted.” Wade continues with his story where I once again knew this to be true, Julia would have had to look in the same books that I did, but I didn’t expect her to have done it that many years in the past, had she been planning his for some time?

“The day Master Griffin was set to be sent to stay with his uncle due to his behaviour, he waited in the car for his father to find the address whilst Julia waited behind. She sat in the front of the car and recited the chant which she had learnt and fully took control of Master Griffin. She ordered him to head into the woods and find Jared, who was waiting behind the trees ensuring that Master Griffin stay out of sight while the many searches were carried out.” He says which was the first time I had heard it this way, I was told that both Julia and Thomas went into the palace to get his address which is when Griffin saw his window and left!

“Master Griffin remained in that state for many days, which may seem like such a bad thing but in reality, that is what saved The Shadow Wolf Pack. His wolf had been in that state for so long, it couldn’t take it anymore which is when Master Griffin snapped from his trance and fled. But now their master plan had gone south, Julia knew the pair had to lay low and hope all of the blame would shift onto Master Griffin. This was when Julia began to take more interest in her true mate and her son Maxwell, she needed to show everyone that even though her son had done such an awful thing, she was not condoning it but making sure to fully support her other son as he adjust to the life which was thrown into him.” He says once again putting on that fake accent, where I had to roll my eyes at her forgery. I could see right off the bat when I arrived and started shaking things up, she hated it as she knew she lost her power and that is when she left for Scotland.

“But let’s not get it twisted, just because she had to stay away from her beloved Jared to not raise any suspicions, doesn’t mean that she didn’t secretly keep tabs on him and make sure he wasn’t finding anyone else to keep him warm at night.” Wade explains which wasn’t surprising, if she had done all of this and hurt so many people for her dearest Jared, she wasn’t going to let some minor fuck up keep them apart. “She reminds Jared any chance that she would get that the longer they wait, the better the revenge was going to feel. But the only problem they had, they didn’t have Master Griffin, the one person they needed to get this plan done in the correct way. That was until one day, Julia was looking through some old paperwork and found her brother George’s address and by the next morning, she contacted him and explained how the family were coming down to see their son.” Wade confessed which is what made their sudden urge to come see their long-lost son make sense, Griffin said that night before that it was all a little sudden.

As I sat there shaking my head, my heart ached for Griffin and all that he was forced to go through due to his mother's weird obsession with another man! This is why I have no choice but to ensure this woman pays, let her feel the same way she made her son feel for something he didn’t do! But as I sat there boiling in my own anger, I realise something.

“But Julia isn’t here anymore, her and Thomas left for Scotland a couple of weeks ago once I told her I was in charge now. She can’t care that much about her precious Jared if she has run off and left him.” I say with a shake of my head, why would you do all of this for someone just to leave at the drop of a hat? But when Macaulay steps forward, I could see he also had some things to disclose.

“If I may ma’am, sorry for interrupting but I have some information for you on that matter. I have with me one of the photos from our guys who were stationed outside of the restaurant when Jared met Richard, you may want to see this ma’am.” He says reaching into his jacket pocket and pulling out a folded paper, handing it over to me I couldn’t believe my eyes!

Walking right beside Jared like nothing was amiss was Julia! How can she casually, walk around the street with Jared?! But what also caught my attention were the other people with them, it not only caused great shock to ripple through me but also, fear. Nearly all of the officials which I have to work with were walking behind Julia and another young man, have they seriously, been working for Julia all this time?! Whatever I have said in that meeting or what Max continues to tell them, it’s all going back to Julia!

“Ma’am you must understand the amount of people which are littered around this palace who really work for Julia, she uses them as her type of spies telling her every single thing which takes place. This matter only become more important to Julia once you took full control.” Wade explains after seeing how shocked I truly was, so whatever I have been doing in this palace and any headway I believe I’ve been making, has all been going back to Julia? “She is aware that you went to visit the Alpha and spoke more about the case, how far you are getting on this case but the only thing she isn’t aware of, you have Master Griffin here.” He says with a smile where I have to whip my head around to look at him, he knows about Griffin.

“You know Griffin is here?” I ask feeling a little worried that someone else may know this also, it appears we weren’t as discreet as I would have hoped.

“I do ma’am, but you need not worry, as I have said, Julia and I were friends since we were little so when the time came for her to pick a Beta, I was the first choice. With that being said, I have much experience, and nothing gets past me when it comes do this place. Don’t worry ma’am, no one else knows and I will take that information to the grave.” Wade reassures me placing his hand to his heart telling me he swore, I simply nod my head with a smile but in my mind, we were running out of time to get this done.

“What are we supposed to do now, whatever happens in the place and any updates on this case are all going back to Julia and now Jared! Any progress we have been making has all been in vain! I have no idea who I’m able to trust anymore!” I exclaim feeling a little lost on what I was to do now, I thought I had this in the bag and was making so many huge steps that I was so close to those guys, and they didn’t even know it! But it turns out it’s been the other way around!

“That is also something you do not need to worry about ma’am, as I have said countless times now, I was Julia’s Beta and one of the very few people she trusted. Once she left the palace and couldn’t keep tabs on those who work for her herself, she put me up to the task of ensuring they all play ball. I have the list of every single person in this palace who aren’t showing their full hands. I’m talking maids, butlers, cooks, gardeners them all! I was only going along with it to ensure I still had a handle on it, I could hand you over the list.” Wade explains with a smile where in this moment, I wanted to give him the biggest hug! “But in saying that I must warn you, as soon as you begin to take in each of Julia’s people, she will notice and realise that her time is running out. It’s in my experience, that is when Julia becomes her deadliest.” He says with such a serious look on her face, I simply nod my head understanding how dangerous this situation had become, even more than when I was nearly killed!

“Must I remind you what is happening tomorrow ma’am, your coronation.” Macaulay speaks up from the side of the room again where I have to look at him shocked, I had forgotten about that little fact and now thinking about it, I was terrified!

“That is a blessing in disguise ma’am, it will give me time to get the list together of all the people but also, show Julia and the rest that you have been far too busy with Queen matters to look into the case any further. They will let their guards down where you will be able to strike!” Wade chimes in with the one good aspect of this, I guess that was true.

“Macaulay, I know this is a lot to ask but you are one of the only people that I trust. Whilst I am busy tomorrow with my coronation and all-around Queen business, will you help Wade get this list together and make up plans to get this done?” I ask looking over at him with hopeful eyes, I knew how much of a huge task this was and how much work he does for me already!

“Of course, ma’am, you know I will always be the first to help you anyway that I can.” He said with a smile bowing his head, I could only nod my head before staring at the wall.

Tomorrow was the day.
