Chapter 58 Liam Falls Ill
The way she ran off looked quite ridiculous.
But she didn't forget to turn back and say: "Liam, I know you look down on me, but who looks up to you? Right now, you're nothing but a useless cripple!"
"Yasmin, how dare you run your mouth at me, I'll beat you to death!"
Grant yelled and chased after her.
Yasmin quickly picked up her pace and fled, looking absolutely ridiculous as she ran.
Grant wanted to chase after her and curse some more, but then Holden suddenly shouted: "Liam, are you okay?"
Grant quickly turned around, only to see Liam clutching his chest with a pained expression on his face. He was immediately scared.
He forgot about Yasmin right away and rushed back to Liam's side.
"Liam, what's wrong? Is it your chest?"
"I'm fine, I'll be okay soon."
Liam knew his own condition very well.
His body had no problems except for his legs, but after his accident, he developed serious psychological issues.
Right now he couldn't breathe properly because his condition was acting up.
Mental illness can sometimes cause physical problems too.
Grant didn't dare leave it alone. He grabbed the oxygen machine the family had used for Liam before and put it on him.
Only then did Liam feel the tightness in his chest ease, and gradually he could breathe on his own again.
"I'm fine now." He removed the oxygen mask and said: "Don't tell Mom about my episode today, and don't tell anyone else either. I don't want them to worry about me."
The Richardson family's situation was already bad enough. He couldn't add more burden to everyone else.
"You hear that, Grant, Holden."
The two had no choice but to nod.
But after helping Liam lie down, Grant still went outside and quietly called Amelia.
He didn't know why, but he just felt like he needed to tell Amelia.
At that moment, Amelia was at the factory Grant had given her, helping the Shadow Operations Division people set up and move things.
The Shadow Operations Division couldn't all transfer over at once - they had to move in batches.
But Byron and several of Amelia's capable subordinates had all come over with the first batch.
Not for any other reason, but because they hadn't seen Amelia in several days and were anxious to see her.
When they met again, everyone was very happy.
Faith Monroe was one of the few young women on the team. When she saw Amelia, her eyes immediately turned red.
"Amelia, I heard that when you went to see Piper, that evil bitch drugged you and almost sold you off. I wanted to fly over immediately to see you, but without your orders, I didn't dare come over on my own."
Amelia tucked the stray hair by Faith's ear behind it and said with a smile: "Don't cry, you won't look pretty if you cry. Besides, I'm fine now, aren't I?"
But Faith shook her head.
"But you've gotten so much thinner."
"Have I?"
"Yes. You've lost weight all around, your chin is even more pointed than before."
"That's just your imagination. My weight has actually gone up a bit."
When she returned to the Richardson family, Natalie thought she was too thin, so she had Uma make different dishes for every meal and forced her to eat an extra half portion of potatoes each time. She was really afraid she'd turn into a little pig.
"I don't care, anyway without me taking care of you, you've gotten thinner. Stay for dinner tonight, I'll make you the most lavish dinner!"
Faith was the youngest daughter of Phoenicia's famous family of chefs.
The Monroe family's pastries were renowned throughout Phoenicia, with over a hundred chain stores.
And she had inherited the Monroe family's culinary skills - any dish she casually made could be so delicious people would forget their troubles.
But compared to Amelia's cooking, she was still a bit behind.
She had been so amazed by a dish Amelia made that she pestered her until she finally joined the Shadow Operations Division.
The Shadow Operations Division never lacked talent - they had people from all walks of life.
Because of this, they could take on any job - except illegal ones.
But there were very few orders coming to the Shadow Operations Division for cooking, so Faith had nothing to do all day and would cook for the Shadow Operations Division members.
What she loved most was cooking for Amelia.
Every time, Amelia would give her pointers and help her cooking improve a little.
In her eyes, Amelia was an all-capable goddess who could do anything.
"I probably can't stay tonight. I have to attend an exhibition in a bit. Tomorrow - I'll come eat lunch tomorrow."
Faith nodded with regret, hugging her arm and saying: "Then you must come tomorrow at noon. I'll go shopping in the morning."
"Okay."
Just then, Amelia's phone rang.
It was Grant calling.
She told Faith to keep helping and then answered Grant's call.
"Amelia, are you done meeting with your friends?" Grant asked on the other end.
Amelia said no, then asked: "Did something happen?"
"It's not really a big deal, it's just..."
He quietly explained what had just happened, then said: "Liam told me not to tell you guys, but before you left you told me to tell you about anything that happens at home, so I'm telling you secretly."
"You did the right thing," Amelia said.
A smile immediately appeared on Grant's face.
He had been praised by Amelia!
Meanwhile, Amelia asked with a serious expression: "How is Liam doing now?"
"He's recovered now. I gave him oxygen and his color came back."
"If he can't breathe again, give him oxygen again. There's nothing wrong with his body - it's a mental issue causing this. Don't worry too much. I'll come back when I'm done here."
"Okay!"
"By the way, did Yasmin just come to get clothes?"
She had checked - Yasmin still had over thirty million dollars in her account. Coming back to The Richardson Manor for a few pieces of clothing seemed a bit strange.
"Yes, I was worried at first that she might take something else, but when I checked her suitcase, there were only her clothes."
Amelia acknowledged this and said: "Then let her take them. Don't mention it to Mom - I don't want her getting angry and affecting her health."
"Okay."
After the call ended, Amelia opened her phone.
Out of concern for the Richardson family's safety, she had installed pinhole cameras on every floor of The Richardson Manor.
There were two in the second-floor hallway.
She pulled up the surveillance footage from the time Grant mentioned and sure enough saw Yasmin appear on the second floor.
But she didn't walk toward her own room - she went to Grant's room instead.
She hadn't installed cameras in the rooms because she didn't want to invade her brothers' privacy.
So she could only see Yasmin enter Grant's room and come out several minutes later.
However, Amelia observed carefully - she didn't take anything, she came out empty-handed.
What was in Grant's room?
What would make Yasmin willing to endure being cursed out just to find an excuse to go in there?
After thinking it over, Amelia still called Grant.
Grant said puzzled: "Why would she go to my room? There's nothing in my room, just paintings I drew myself."
"Paintings?"
"Yes, I don't have any other hobbies, just this one."
Amelia raised an eyebrow, vaguely guessing something.
As for whether she had guessed right, she should be able to confirm it soon.
