Chapter 59 Charming Arrogance

Chapter 59 Charming Arrogance

"She probably just went in to have a casual look around. There weren't any valuables inside, right?" Amelia asked.

"No, I'm not into luxury goods or anything like that, but I do love buying you luxury items," Grant said with a silly grin.

Amelia said, "Good, as long as there's nothing valuable. Next time she comes, we absolutely can't let her in again. And go change the password at the front gate too, so she can't come back and upset Liam."

Only those close to someone know which words hurt the most.

Yasmin was cold-blooded enough.

She'd heard that Liam used to treat Yasmin well too, yet she could still hurt him with her words.

She would make Yasmin pay for this.

"Okay, I'll go change the password right now."

"No rush," Amelia said. "I'll give you an address. Change your clothes and come meet me there."

Grant didn't ask why, just agreed directly.

"Okay!"

As soon as he finished speaking, another call came through on Amelia's phone.

Amelia hung up on Grant and answered the new call.

It was Samuel calling.

"Amelia, you haven't forgotten our agreement, have you?" His voice was gentle, low and attractive.

"Don't worry, I haven't forgotten. I'll be at the exhibition in an hour," Amelia said.

"Let me come pick you up now? I've prepared an outfit for you, I can bring it over."

Amelia refused directly.

"No need to pick me up. I'm not home right now. I'll come straight there when I'm done."

"Where are you? I can come get you there."

"Mr. Crawford, you're being a bit too controlling, aren't you? I said I'll come on my own."

Samuel sensed that Amelia on the other end was getting impatient, so he said, "Alright then, call me when you arrive and I'll have someone come out to meet you."

"Okay, I'm hanging up now."

Amelia hung up directly.

Just then Byron came over to ask where to put some materials.

"Put them in the innermost room."

"Yes!"

After another busy spell, when Amelia finished up, there were only twenty minutes left until the exhibition.

She didn't delay any further and had Byron drive her to the exhibition venue—Luminance Art Gallery.

This place had Goldenvale's largest exhibition hall, and countless people in the art world wanted to hold exhibitions here.

Amelia remembered Luminance Art Gallery because the gallery director had called more than once to invite her to hold a painting exhibition there.

But painting was just one of her hobbies when she had nothing else to do, so she hadn't agreed.

At the same time, Yasmin arrived at the entrance of Luminance Art Gallery with a friend who had kept begging her.

Looking at the quadrilateral-shaped exhibition hall, her friend was immediately excited, grabbing Yasmin's hand and saying, "Yasmin, you're amazing! My dad couldn't even get tickets, but you got them for me. You don't know how envious my dad was when he found out I could come."

Yasmin curved her lips and said casually, "It's nothing."

Her friend looked at her with even more admiration.

Yasmin's vanity was greatly satisfied.

She dialed Geraldo's number and said, "Mr. McGinnis, my friend and I are at the entrance."

"Okay, I'll come get you."

Soon, Geraldo walked out from inside.

As soon as he appeared, he immediately caught the attention of the crowd waiting to have their tickets checked at the entrance.

"Isn't that the oil painting expert Geraldo? He's actually here today. If I'd known, I would have given my ticket to my grandfather—he's a huge fan of his."

"He seems to be coming out to meet someone? I wonder who's important enough to have Mr. McGinnis personally come out to greet them."

Yasmin heard the discussions in the crowd.

She pressed down her rising smile, raised her hand and waved at Geraldo.

"Mr. McGinnis!"

Geraldo looked through the crowd and saw her, nodded slightly, then came to Yasmin with two security guards accompanying him.

Everyone's eyes looked over with envy.

Some people recognized her at this moment.

"Isn't that the Richardson family's daughter, Yasmin? Mr. McGinnis is personally coming to meet her? Could she be Mr. McGinnis's student?"

"Didn't Mr. McGinnis stop taking students a long time ago? Could it be that this Yasmin has exceptional talent in oil painting, so Mr. McGinnis made an exception to take her as a student?"

"It must be that."

"Wait, did you say the Richardson family? That Richardson family that went bankrupt?"

"Yeah, I heard the Richardson family found their long-lost daughter from the countryside a few days ago, and then Natalie kicked Yasmin out."

"What?" The person asked in shock, "Someone good enough to be Mr. McGinnis's student has an unlimited future ahead of them, and the Richardson family actually kicked someone like that out?"

"Yeah, so the Richardson family ending up like this—their vision was too narrow."

"I heard all six sons of the Richardson family are useless. I guess that daughter they found from the countryside isn't anything special either. Throwing away a treasure and treating rubble like a gem—their judgment is really terrible."

"Exactly, if the Richardson family doesn't go bankrupt, who will?"

Everyone was talking at once.

But without exception, they were all mocking the Richardson family.

Yasmin heard some of the discussions.

She acted as if she heard nothing, smiled at Geraldo and said, "Mr. McGinnis, thank you for saving a ticket for me."

Geraldo was old and his hearing wasn't great, so he didn't hear the surrounding discussions.

He stroked his graying beard and said, "When I saw your painting that time, I thought you had exceptional talent. I'm honored that you're willing to come."

"Mr. McGinnis, you're too kind."

"Not at all, you have more talent than both of my students. I have high hopes for you in today's competition."

Yasmin asked, "Will you be competing yourself?"

"I'm too old. I'll leave these opportunities to you young people. Besides, I'm one of the judges."

I see. Yasmin nodded and said, "I'll try my best not to embarrass you."

Geraldo smiled and said, "There are many talented people here today. Don't put too much pressure on yourself. Even if you don't win first place, just treat it as good experience."

"Okay."

"Let's go, I'll take you inside."

"Okay."

Yasmin responded, brought her friend along, and went into the venue with Geraldo.

The ticket checking time hadn't arrived yet, so those without good enough connections could only watch enviously as the three of them went in.

Once inside, the interior design was even more impressive than it looked from outside.

All the paintings and calligraphy that would be used for the charity auction today were hung using special tools that made them appear to float, giving them a very high-tech look.

"The venue is decorated so beautifully today," Yasmin's friend exclaimed while scanning the area with her eyes, searching for Samuel's figure.

Finally, she spotted Samuel in front of a floating painting.

She quickly tugged at Yasmin's sleeve and said in a low voice, "Yasmin, look, Mr. Crawford is over there."

Yasmin looked in the direction her gaze indicated and indeed saw Samuel.

Today he was wearing a midnight blue suit with a strong sense of design, with an obsidian-decorated brooch pinned to his chest—luxurious yet understated, making Samuel look even more distinguished.

There was no denying that Samuel was eye-catching wherever he went.

Even setting aside his status as the head of the Crawford Group, that face alone was enough to draw people's attention and make them want to look a few more times.
