Chapter Forty Five - Making New Friends In The Aeroplane
"Attendant 15, right?" The lady in red asks Kellie who has bag clutched to her back, one hanging loosely behind her while two with her in her hands.
"Yeah. My parents are right here." She replies while George and Kimberly with Charles are still approaching them, slowly.
"Okay. Go into the plane now. We are taking of in the next fifteen minutes." She tells her, and stamps a paper. "Take this with you. Make sure you don't lose it."
"Sure, ma. But am I going to have this alone since we are two?"
"Dammit." The lady cusses. "I thought you are going alone. No wonder, I got confused when I saw double names here but can't figure out the other one."
"I'm sorry, madam." George apologizes as he approaches. Kimberly hugs Kellie from behind as she waves at the lady. The lady waves back at her and Charles winks at her.
"Let them both stay in the plane. You can stay with them though, pending the time we take off." The lady announces.
They all smile as they head towards the very big plane.
"Hello." The lady suddenly says. "There's a problem here."
"What!" Kellie exhales. "What is that?"
"George Leo and Kellie Leo are registered here but his name contradicts what's is in his identification number." She says as they all walk back to her desk. Charles, though he didn't register them through the form, knows what Kimberly would have done. He realized thats Kimberly had registered George Matt with George Leo since he doesn't have any parents anymore but before he lost his parents, he had reached an age he can be eligible to have an identity card.
"Ma'am, please can I say something?" Charles mutters, seeing her fellow officers approaching. "Before those officers come here. Please, just forget about the name difference, we are sorry, it's just a mistake."
"Mistake?" She retorts. "This guy can't fill his name correctly. Please maybe I'll consider another reason but not the mistake. Leo, he used Leo as well. That's not a mistake, don't trick me."
"He didn't register himself. I did everything myself." Kimberly speaks up. "I apologize."
"What's going on here? It's nine minutes left to take off." The other official approaches and tells them. "These dudes should be inside the plane now."
"Claire, can you imagine what embarrassment!"
"What?"
"Don't bother." The lady in red says. "You can all go into the plane. But don't repeat that anywhere, you might not get away with it."
Kellie sighs as she holds onto George and gets inside the plane first. She sees other students chattering and rejoicing inside the plane, glad to resume college in an entirely different country. Some are still dozing off as the plane master knocks on the oval shaped window.
"Please, make sure you're good to go. Wear your seat belts and be on the alert." He says and fastens his seat belt as he enters the driving operation centre and starts the engine.
"Mum, I guess you'd have to go now." Kellie says and sobs. "Mum, I'll really miss you. Im sorry for being rude."
"Attendant 15 and 16, the plane is taking off. Make sure none of your relatives who didn't register aren't in the plane." A woman speaks through mic, from the inner rooms in the plane.
"Dad, I'll miss you!" George lets out a tear from his eyes as he hugs Charles affectionately.
"It's hard to say goodbye." Kimberly says, her voice breaking. "Please make sure you take care."
She sniffles as she waves at them and exits the plane with Charles.
"Miss you guys!" She throws kisses at them as she alights the plane.
"Moving now." Another voice says from the inner rooms.
Then the plane lifts up off of the ground as the Pilot presses different switches and buttons, making the plane move. Two more people soon join the Pilot but one sits at their back while two remain in the front.
Kellie clogs onto George as she feels herself rising up.
"I'm scared." She mutters. "Please."
George chuckles softly and the other students at their back mimick her mutters.
"I'm scared." One of the three students repeat. "Please."
"Those are bullies. But note, I'll be right there with you. Don't you worry about that." George takes her into a hug tightly as he kisses hee forehead.
"I guess they are mates." One of the students snickers. She's named Amanda. "How lovely, oh, oh, they are even kissing."
"Keep your voice down, idiot." Brutus, the fourth student from another high school tells Amanda. "Don't be a local asshole."
Amanda grins but doesn't talk. If she does, she would end up shouting and screaming, much to her disadvantage as she would be used as a scape goat and much to Brutus's advantage as he would be thanked for correcting her.
"Hello." George waves at Brutus and he smiles in return. "Can you.."
Before he concludea his request, Brutus moves over to him and sits beside Kellie.
"Hello, how are you?" He replies. Why they are able to change seat easily is that there are some vacant ones - those that didn't come on time and those that didn't even register or made a mistake while registering like George's case if not for mercy.
"I'm Brutus from Higher Ground high school, Houston, Texas, US of A." He scoffs after saying and seeing Kellie smile.
"Can I know you as well?" He asks.
"Oh, well, I'm George Leo and she's Kellie."
"Kellie Leo?"
"No, just Kellie." George retorts, not wanting him to know their relationship or friendship or relativity.
"Oh ok." He chuckles. "Fine. We would meet at Ukraine in the next six hours."
"Oh wow." Kellie remarks. "I thought it's ten hours."
"Bush girl. Village dumbass." Amanda mutters to her friends as they all burst into laughter.
"Don't mind the stupid folks." Brutus says. "Can I have your number, Kellie?"
"Oh, why?" George asks. "She doesn't… she can't.. you know, she's… she's in going." He doesn't know what to say; he ends up stuttering, turning Brutus off.
"I guess I have to return to my seat. I apologize, Kellie." He says and moves back.
"I hope I didn't annoy you." Kellie tilts her head and tells him. "I'm sorry if I did."
"Oh, no. You didn't." Brutus says and smiles. He subtly throws kisses at her. Kellie purrs and whispers into his ears, "That guy threw kisses at me. Whatcha think?"
"Wanna go for him?" George asks in response.
"Nope. Don't be like this. I'm only putting you on the alert."
Silence.
"Or do you think we can call him and discuss things related to wolves." George asks Kellie. They both clutch to each other so anything they say or do are being done secretly.
"What if he ain't a wolf?" Kellie replies.
"No. Not possible. He surely is. That girl said 'mates', and not 'lovers." George replies.
"No. What if she means school mates?"
"No, she does not."
"And what if she understands Werewolves but isn't one?"
"I give up." George sighs as they both sit up and recline their backs to the seats.
"Kellie, can you imagine?" George tells her. "Alfred and his guys went to report to the Alpha, claiming they would not let me go if I don't help them to the pack house at America."
"Festus'?"
"Yes."
"They are nuts. Thank goodness we are now free from all their sorts of clutches. I really am happy about this. At last, we are going to Australia."
"Ukraine, idiot." Amanda remarks.
"Don't retaliate, Kellie. If you feel like, call Brutus and tell him. You don't have to act same." George tells her.
"Alrighty then. Fuck her to hell"
Suspcious Silence
"It's six hours now." George waves at Brutus who is seen dozing off from the chair and as he wants to drop to the plane ground, Kellie rises to her feet and blocks his connection with the ground. Brutus tilts his head and his lips go straight into Kellie's. He stays glued and subtly affirms Kellie to her claiming that's the most convenient way. George looks back and helps Kellie up.
From now on, he starts to hate Brutus since he's been noticing his creepy moves towards Kellie, which one could outrightly say it's the reason for him approaching with his nice gestures.
And who knows if Amanda and her friends would later turn out to be good ones indeed. You know, there are some kinds of revolution that occur in this life.
"Please, are we getting there now?" Kellie summons the courage to ask Amanda. "Please."
"In the next hour." Amanda deadpans but chuckles almost immediately.
"Thank you." Kellie says, and faces front, feeling embarrassed.
It's the next hour now. The plane alights in an airport as Kellie and George see new faces walking up and down the street. Kellie wants to feel happy but then she remembers she would always get lost and those in this country might not understand.
