Chapter Forty Four - Acting Up Due To Shopping's Stress

Kimberly and Kellie have returned from the supermarket. It is 7pm exactly. The pack house is being illuminated by different sets of light. Kimberly finds the nearest parking lot before the pack house and luckily, she gets one. She drives inside and stops the car from moving through the gears. Kellie gets down from the car with her feet thudding as she makes sighs of relief from stress. Kimberly also gets down as she motions to Kellie to get the food stuff from the booth. Kellie doesn't respond though, she only keeps sighing, calling for her mother’s attention. Kimberly ignores the attention she’s trying to get, as she packs all the goods down from the car. Once she does that, she sees Kellie squatting and staring at her. She gives her the look, and Kellie gets the tip. The look of, ‘don’t let me repeat this.’ Kellie rises to her feet and obeys her and they both walk down to the main gate.

“It’s very tiring to go to the supermarket." Kellie comments as she heaves sighs of confusion. “I don’t pray to be such mother that would stress her daughter since she knows she’s going to be stressed as well.”

“Kellie, this is what I’m telling you. Respect is reciprocal. I won’t say more than that. When you return to this pack after you’re done with your college days, you would have had a pup and I would love to see her but know that she is bound to always disrespect you.”

“I thought you said you wouldn't say more. Once I go in now, I’m going to my bed to rest. Then, you help us with cooking so I won’t get worn out. Mum, you know we would take off by 5am.”

“I know.” Kimberly replies. “Also tell George once you get in, okay?”

“Sure.”

And then, they get to the main gate. Seeing the gate on latch, they barge in and move faster to avoid notice. They move quicker and finally get to their doorstep. Their house isn't far from the main gate at all. Did you notice that?

“Hey, welcome, mate.” George meets them first as they jerk the door open. “Let me help you with these.”

“Sure.” Kellie whispers. “I’m damn tired.”

“Welcome, Kimberly.” He greets her but she doesn’t reply, she only goes straight upstairs and straight into her room this time around. Not the joint room.

“Why is she acting up?” George scoffs, asking Kellie. “I only greeted her. She should be apologizing to I and Charles instead for leaving us without notice.”

“Don’t ask me questions.” Kellie splutters. “Just shut the door and pack these into our room.”

“I don’t understand?”

“Now!” Kellie yells, and gasps for breath. “Just fucking go!”

George becomes a bit confused about the actions Kellie and Kimberly are putting up but he reserves his comment and climbs up the staircases, going straight to their room. He packs the load Kellie dropped though there are still more in the car, and takes them to Kellie’s room as she instructed. But, he doesn’t follow all her instructions since he forgets to shut the door. Kellie, seeing his silence and cooperation with something called humility and or love, shuts the door in front of her but this time around, she doesn’t lean on the door. She sighs and clenches her fist and grins as she climbs up the stairs and wobbles into her room.

George opens the door for her, knowing fully well that she’s very tired for shopping for over two hours. Kellie can be called an extrovert. She can be called an introvert as well. Joined together, Kellie is an ambivert.

“I know you must be very tired. But, tell me something, did anything happen between you and Kimberly?” George asks, after making sure she lays in bed and dozes for few minutes.

“George.” Kellie calls in a shrill tone. “When I’m interested, I’ll talk to you instead. But, note that we are taking off by 5am tomorrow except you don’t want my security.”

George scoffs, “I do. I surely do. I will get ready and get you prepared tomorrow morning. And oh, I can see you’re missing home already.” George chuckles. “Charles will miss you most, I guess.”

“That’s not it.” Kellie retorts in a tiring tone.

“It is.” George repeats, and chuckles though much softly.

“George! I said I don’t want to talk.”

He doesn’t say a word anymore – he gathers his backpack and hers together in a corner and after that, he sprawls those goods on the tiles and sighs as he sees those that would be much more necessary for him. By the way, he stares back at Kellie to be sure if his deep sigh didn’t get on her nerves but he chuckles again when he sees that she’s fast asleep.

“I’m going to bed as well.” George soliloquizes. “I’ll manage three hamburgers.”

Kellie hits him with her legs and pretends to be asleep again.

Then a knock comes throbbing on the door. George stands up quickly, leaving a slightly pulling effect on the bed, as he creeps to the door. He stoops low to be even with the doorknob, and then he whispers, “Who is it, please?”

“It is me. Let me give you the feedback from the Alpha.” Charles replies. George creaks the door open, and follows him behind, leaving the door on latch. After he goes away from the doorstep, Kellie springs up from bed and starts to reorganize the goods sprawled on the ground. She cusses at him but arranges other things like the portable boxes and sharing the items bought. Now, 5am tomorrow morning is meant to take off at once. After all, 5:30 is the slotted time the airport officers gave as the maximum. Any further extension, they take off without hesitation. She doesn’t lay back in bed: instead, she jerks the door open and walks out of the room, heading straight to Kimberly’s personal room. She gets there after few minutes of moving and stopping halfway.

“Mum, open the damn door.” This is what she says first when she gets there.

“If you are going to keep cussing, then you have to stand right there till dawn.”

“Mum, it’s Kellie.” She says, shallowly,

“I know it’s the darned girl.” Kimberly replies, and her voice drops into whispers when she discovers that she just used a cuss word.

“1-1.” Kellie says. “Now, open the door.”

The door opens and Kellie gets in, shutting it behind her and leaning on it as her ritual demands.

“George, for real, you have to get set and move out of this house as early as possible tomorrow morning. Festus’ so-called Betas are vexing at Alpha Marin’s room. They claimed to stop you from moving. First, you didn’t help them get to the pack house down there at America. Second, they felt something move out of their bodies and I discovered it is the demon’s power.

“I was scared at first when you said I should move out. I was wondering what I did wrong. But after your explanation, I now understand. If they are going to vex, they should vex well and to the brim. We are leaving by 5am exactly tomorrow, we already agreed on this. I and Kellie and she must have heard that from her mother.”

“A gamma was seen discussing with Kimberly, actually, I was the one seeing them. They talked about Kellie getting lost again tomorrow evening. That was why I called you here. George, please..” Charles pleads and sobs. “Kellie is my only daughter. Please, do to her as you want them do to you.”

George scoffs, seeing him sob seems funny to him.

“In what case exactly? Seems you’re kind of insinuating that. I smell rats.”

“I know you love her but also, I notice you really like some other things she has.”

“Okay Sir. I understand. I’ll do just that.” George deadpans, sounding disinterested in having the conversation with him.

”The car at the parking lot opposite the pack house has some other necessary stuff in it. I dropped two more cellphones there should you need to contact us without having battery in your personal sets. Just wake up, bathe, tuck in reasonable clothes and take off. No need to see any Alpha, we’ve talked this over. He’s damn busy. I and Kimberly would see you off to the airport.” Charles rants.

“Sure. Anything for dinner?” George asks. “I feel a bit hungry. Kimberly is too tired to cook anything.”

“Don’t mind her.” Charles replies. “We males will prepare our food ourselves.”

“Funny.” George remarks. “That doesn’t really need any more. I can sleep this way or better still, go to the refrigerator and digest pizza.”

“Alright, George. Take care and sleep tight.” I can’t wait to see you fully dressed and clad in out rightly neatly, decently and modestly attire.”

George scoffs and moves up the staircases as he heads into Kellie’s room. He sees Kellie smiling and beckoning to him to come over to bed. As he approaches her, he notices that it’s not Kellie but Clarissa.

“Fuck!” He exhales and Kellie barges into the room, Clarissa waning in thin air simultaneously.
