Chapter 19 : First kiss

Tani is wandering around in her room. And thinking how to get out of the house. Once she went downstairs to check but she did not get any such opportunity. Suddenly it came to Tani's mind that if she tells her mom that she has to stay up and study tonight, then no one will come to call her to her room.

She decided so and went to downstairs and told everything to her mother. Then she came back and locked the room from inside. She quickly got ready and put on her clothes. But this time the issue is how she will get out? At that time her eyes went to the window. She quickly smiled and took her bag and bicycle keys in her pocket.

She slowly opened the window shutters and climbed up to the window and carefully placed one foot on the lower cornice. She slowly lowered the other leg. She had already thrown the backpack on the cornice. Now she took the bag on her back and closed the window carefully, leaving it slightly open.

Then, keeping her balance, she slowly descended down the pipe. The moment Tani gets closer to her destination, she finally loses her balance and falls to the ground.

Tani hit her elbow as she fell to the ground. She quickly got up and picked up the bag and ran to the bicycle. She silently opened the outer gate of the house and went out.

Anushka's Room :

The room is dark, only the reading table lamp is on. Anu is sleeping with her head on the diary as before. All around her room is quiet.

As the night approaches, the outer world is becoming almost silent. Tani arrived at the door of Anu's house riding her bicycle through the almost empty road. Tani carefully opened the outer gate of the house noiselessly. Silently took the bicycle inside.

The house is dark, only the light is on in Anu's room on the second floor. "Is Anu alright? Why is only the light on in her room at this time? What happened to her?", Tani said to herself.

"No, I have to go upstairs to see what she's doing so late at night. And why did she switch off the phone! But I have to climb the pipe one more time.. Ugh", Tani thought to herself. She kept her bicycle near the garden. Then slowly she started climbing up the pipe.

"This time you can't fall again, if this happens, you go straight to the hospital. And your love will not be expressed anymore.", Tani said to herself.

After some time, she reached the balcony of Anu's room. Tani carefully stepped onto the balcony. She saw from outside that the whole room was dark, and Anu was sleeping on the study table. Tani tried to open the balcony shutter but it was locked from the inside. Seeing no other option, Tani started calling out Anu's name in a low voice and kept tapping the shutter intermittently.

Anu was in deep sleep. But for a few moments her sleepiness eased. She suddenly heard Tani's faded voice several times in her sleep. As her drowsiness passed, she distinctly heard a knock on the shutter.

Anu raised her head with a throb. After looking around, her eyes fell on the balcony. Anu's eyes were drowsy due to sleep. She noticed someone like Tani standing outside.

"Am I dreaming or is she really out there? Maybe I've been thinking about her too much these days, that's why I'm hallucinating now.", Anu was thinking in her mind looking at the balcony.

"What exactly is she doing? She is looking straight here but not moving from her chair! What is happening to her?", Tani thought to herself.

"Oh.. I'm loosing my mind." Saying this Anu went towards the balcony with her hands on her puffy eyes.

Anu went to the shutter, Tani, made a little loud noise. Anu looked startled with wide eyes. "Anu please open the shutter, it's me. Since when am I calling you.", Tani started saying.

Anu became normal now by hearing Tani's voice. "She is actually here!" Anu thought to herself. She opened the shutter quickly.

Tani walked inside and said, "Anu, you have switched off your phone! But why? How many times have I called you. I was worried! Oh there is no light in the room... I can't see properly..", saying these, Tani crossed the bed, went near to the wardrobe and switched on the light. Anu closed the shutter.

Turning on the switch, Tani looked around, and she saw that there was a bag on the floor and the phone was on the corner of the bed with a cracked screen.

Tani picked up the phone and bag from the floor and asked in a soft voice, "Anu what did you do? Why did you do this?"

Anu ignored Tani and asked, "What are you doing here at this time? It's almost 12. 30. And it's not safe to be out so late at night."

"Look, I came here because your phone was switched off and I was worried about you. You left my house like that and then your phone kept saying switched off, so what option did you leave me with?"

"You don't have to worry about me. You have your best mate. Your soul mate exists in your life. So, how am I, what am I doing these shouldn't matter to you, isn't it?", Anu said angrily.

Tani recongnized Anu's anger. She went to her and took her hand. But Anu jerked her hand away and said, "Please Tani, what are you doing? If your gf finds out that you've come to another girl's room so late in the night, you'll be in trouble. And I never want to cause trouble in anyone's life. You've met me, now you can leave." Saying these harsh words, Anu turned towards her desk and her eyes filled with tears.

Tani didn't say anything, she knew that Anu was angry with her and whatever she said a while back was because of her anger.

"But is it her anger or something else she's hiding? What else could it be? If what I'm thinking is true, then she has to reveal it. I'll make her do it, now. She has to confess.", Tani thought to himself.

Tani tricked and said, "Fine. Maybe she is the one who actually understands me. I thought you were my half mate, but no I was wrong. You are such a mean and jealous woman. You have wasted my time all these years. I wish I could have met her earlier... Bye."

Tani intentionally angered Anu by saying some absurd things and started walking towards the balcony.

Anu couldn't help herself after hearing all those words. Tears are constantly falling from hér eyes. She turns towards Tani and saw that she is heading towards the balcony.

Anu held Tani's hand tightly and turned her towards herself, and placed her lips on her's. Tani was shocked but the feeling of happiness was not diminishing.
