Chapter 60 - Surprised by Three Mates
April POV
“Yes.” The words left my mouth without hesitation.
“Thank the Gods,” Alexei said. He reached into the box and pulled out the ring. My hand shook as Alastair took my hand and held it out for Alexei.
“It’s beautiful.” My eyes filled with tears as I looked down at it. They could’ve proposed with a ring pop and I would’ve been just as happy.
“You like it?” Klaus asked with a smile.
“I love it,” I said. I gave each of them a passion-filled kiss.
“Their gifts!” Iris pushed.
“Oh yes! I’m so excited! This is perfect!” I said.
“Now.. open your gifts,” I said to them.
“Who first?” Alastair asked.
“Rock, paper, scissors over it.” I teased. I began rolling over in laughter when they actually started playing rock paper scissors.
First, Klaus lost to both Alastair and Alexei. As they both pick the same thing over and over, I clutched my stomach and continued giggling.

Alastair POV
“Aha, I win.” I bragged. Alexei rolled his eyes at me.
I grabbed my bag and held it close to me. I looked up at April and smiled before I started pulling the green tissue paper out. I reached in and pulled out the item on the top.
“Oh, my goddess.” I held the box of assorted snacks in front of me.
“There’s even gummy worms!” I didn’t hesitate to open the box and pull out a bag of gummy worms. I opened the bag and put one in my mouth before holding the bag out for everyone else. April grabbed one as well as the other guys.
“There’s more.” April smiled. I saw another box in the bag and grabbed it. When I opened it a smile grew on my face.
“It’s a pocket watch..” she said.
“It has the date we first met, the date you found out I was your mate, and the day of your birthday.. the day we all found you,” I said.
“Do you like it?” She asked.
“I love it,” I said.
“There’s one more thing..” she said.
I reached into the bag and pulled out a black leather box. I flipped it open.
“April..” I said softly. I pulled out the chain and looked at it closely. It’s a white gold chain, with a little wolf pendant.
“Look closer.” She said. I examined it and when I flipped it around.. my heart almost stopped.
“Marry me?” I read the inscription out loud.
“I was planning to propose to all of you.. tonight.” She smiled sheepishly.
“I’m glad we asked first.” Klaus joked.
“I love it. I’ll wear it forever.” I said. I gave her a peck on her soft lips.
“You really like it?” She asked.
“Yes! It’s the best gift I’ve ever been given. I love you.” I said.
“I love you too.” Her face turned red. Goddess, I love that.
“Me too.” Callum purred.
“Hey don’t start getting in the mood just yet.” I joked.
“Your turn, Alexei,” I said. He grabbed his bag and smiled really big.

Alexei POV
I pulled the tissue paper out of the bag and saw a flat wooden thing first. I grabbed it, and when I pulled it out my heart stopped.
“Do you like it?” She asked. I didn’t have the words to describe how I was feeling. In my hands, I’m holding a framed painting. A painting of my Sylvie under the moonlight.
“I..” tears filled my eyes and I tried to hold them back. This is.. amazing.
“You did this?” I asked. I sniffled as I looked up at her.
“Yes. Now that I’ve met her, I could paint her for you to keep forever.” She said. I smiled the biggest smile ever. I was given the best woman as a mate.. in the entire universe.
“I love it.. thank you, April. It’s really amazing. It looks just like her.. I didn’t realize you were so good.” I said.
“I used to love painting. I guess I just fell out for a bit. There’s more!!” She teased. I chuckled and sat down the beautiful painting.
I reached my hand in once again and pulled out a leather box similar to Alastair’s. I could feel April's excitement through the bond.
I opened the box and saw a white gold chain, except the pendant wasn’t a wolf. Instead, it’s a black rose. Black roses symbolize vampires. I saw the similar inscriptions saying “marry me?”
“If we didn’t already ask.. I would’ve said yes in a heartbeat.” I said. Her face turned a bright shade of red and it made my heart leap in my chest.
“That’s good to know.” She smiled. She leaned in and kissed me softly.
“These are the best gifts ever. Thank you.” I said as I pulled away.
“You’re welcome.” She said.
“Your turn.” She turned to Klaus excitedly.

Klaus POV
I grabbed the bag and pulled out the tissue paper. The first thing I saw stuck out to me quite a lot.
“Is this..” I pulled out a box similar to the one I gave her on our date. This one though is black and says “my love.”.
“Open it.” She smiled. I opened the box and saw a white gold bracelet. It has a single pearl, like the one on her necklace, and a black bead next to it.
“Look into the black bead.” She said. I furrowed my brows in confusion but did as she said. When I looked into it the light reflected through it, showing a set of constellations and a date.
“It’s the night of our first date. What the sky looked like that night.” She said. I looked up at her in shock.
“It is?” I asked. She nodded her head.
“I’m not good at carving boxes. So “my love” was the best I could do. The pearl, I went and searched for like you did with mine.” She said. My heart is so close to exploding.. I love this woman so much.
I looked into the bag and saw the leather box. I reached in and pulled it out.
When I opened it, I fell in love with her all over again. It’s a white gold chain, with a white gold Lycan that matches the one on her necklace. When I flipped it over I smiled really big at the “marry me?” Inscription.
“We have the best mate in the world.” Lev purred. He wanted to take over but I wouldn’t let him. He would try to mate with her right here, right now.
“Yes, we do,” I said.
“Thank you, April. You are by far the best gift-giver.. ever. I will cherish them forever.” I said. I leaned in and gave her a deep kiss.
“You guys really like them?” She asked.
“We love them,” Alexei said. They both had already put on their necklaces.
“Let me help,” April said. She took the necklace and moved behind me and fastened it around my neck.
“Now, that’s not all of your gifts.. but you all can find out about that later.” She smirked deviously.
“Please be s*x.. please..” lev growled hungrily.
“I can’t wait,” Alastair said. We spent a bit talking about our gifts, all while April stared at her ring. I can feel her happiness through the bond.
“More movies?” Alexei asked.
“Yes!” April said.
We all moved our bags and got situated back onto the floor pallet.

April POV
“They loved them. We did well. I was worried.” I said to Iris. The amount of happiness I’m experiencing at this moment is insane.
“They proposed! I can’t believe it.” Iris purred happily.
“And to think, you told me that I should propose first.” I teased.
“Hey, girls are allowed to propose, too.” She said.
“We have fiancés,” I said. Is this real life? It doesn’t feel like it.
I placed my head on Klaus’s shoulder. Alastair was between my legs with his head on my thigh. Alexei is on the other side of me holding my hand. Could this be any more perfect?
It’s been a while since I’ve felt this good. Everything is going right.. it almost makes me nervous. I’ve been so used to everything going wrong.. I keep waiting for something to happen.
“Just enjoy it. Everything’s fine. We will rescue the forsaken, kill Catherine.. and it is going to be wonderful.” Iris said.
“You’re excited for her to be gone, aren’t you?” I asked.
“Aren’t you?” She asked.
“Goddess, yes. I can’t wait for it to be over so we can enjoy our lives together.” I said.
“I can’t wait for the wedding!” Iris purred.
“You know Mom will make sure that it’s the biggest event of the century.” I giggled.
“Which is why it’ll be so amazing. It’ll be a day we’ll never forget.” She said. I looked at my mates and my skin tingled with excitement.
My mind wandered to the life we’ll have. Marriage, pups.. our own little family.. I suddenly get so excited at the thought of pups.
“That’s probably because our heat is coming back soon,” Iris said.
“Yeah..” I said.
I shook it out of my mind and curled into my mates. They are my happy place. My home. I never imagined being so blessed by the moon goddess. So blessed to have them.
“I love you all,” I whispered.
“I love you, too,” Alexei whispered back. He leaned over and kissed my cheek.
“Of course, I love you too,” Klaus said. I looked up at him and kissed him.
“Hey! I love her the most.” Alastair jumped up and tackled me, planting kisses all over my face.
“You wanna test that out?” Klaus asked jokingly.
“Come at me, bro,” Alastair said.
