Chapter 59 - Surprised by Three Mates

April POV

“This place is nice!” I said. Alexei pulled my chair out and I sat down.

“They kept trying to tell me I couldn’t make a reservation for tonight. I had to have Alexei call them..” Alastair rolled his eyes.

Our waitress walked up to our table with a smile on her face. The guys ordered a bottle of wine while I continued searching the menu.

“We could’ve just gone to the pizza restaurant,” I said.

“No, because tonight is special,” Klaus said. I looked up from the menu confused.

“How is it special?” I asked. No one answered me, they just all exchanged looks.

“That’s not suspicious at all,” I mumbled. The waitress came back with our wine and took our orders.

“Have you heard from your family today?” Klaus asked. I nodded my head as Alexei poured my wine.

“Yeah. Just the usual, everything’s going okay, no attacks or anything.” I said.

“Catherine would be an idiot to even try,” Alexei said.

“Guys, come on. Let’s enjoy tonight and not talk about this. Tonight is our free night.. no one is allowed to mention Catherine or anything that falls in the same category.” Alastair groaned.

“You’re right. Let’s enjoy this. It’s Christmas Eve, snow is falling, and Christmas lights are everywhere.. it’s the perfect night to just relax and enjoy.” Alexei said.

Ahh, Christmas. I can’t wait to give them their gifts! I just have this huge feeling they’re going to love them. I can’t wait to see the looks on their faces.

I fought with myself over and over.. should I give them their gifts tonight at home? Should I wait.. wake them up super duper early and give them the gifts? I’m so impatient when it comes to gift giving.. that’s why I can’t shop too early.. because, by the time Christmas comes around, I’d have already given everyone their gifts.

The waitress brought our food and we thanked her. The food smells absolutely amazing, my mouth watered the second the food scent hit my nose.

“Wow. This is delicious.” Klaus said with a mouth full of steak. I giggled at him and nodded my head.

“It is.” I took a bite and almost melted onto the floor.

“That good, huh?” Alexei gave me a toothy grin.

“Goddess, yes. It’s so good.” I said.

“As good as Maria’s cooking?” Alastair asked. I thought for a moment before shaking my head.

“Nothing beats Maria’s cooking, but this.. this is pretty close,” I said.

We spent the rest of dinner laughing and eating. Thankfully, the restaurant wasn’t horribly packed, so we didn’t get many stares when I kissed each of my mates. Which honestly, I could care less if they did or not.

“Are you guys ready?” Klaus asked. We all nodded our heads and began to stand up.

“So, a walk? Where?” I asked.

“You’ll see.” Alastair smiled and grabbed my hand.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••

We walked outside and took the car. We drove for at least 30 minutes before I saw Christmas lights in front of us.

“Wow,” I said as I looked out of the car window.

“You like?” Klaus asked.

“Yes!” I said. Alexei pulled the car over next to several others and got out.

Klaus opened the door for me and held out his hand, I gripped it tightly as I pulled myself out of the car.

The Christmas lights go on for as far as I can see. All colors of green, red, blue, pink, and white.

“It’s a Christmas light walk,” Alastair said. This is amazing! The farther we walked the more decorations I could see. There are reindeer decorations, Santa, and elves.. everywhere! I’ve never seen so many lights in my entire life.

We walked for a few minutes before stopping at this massive lit tree. I could see a big lake behind it, with lights reflecting off the water.

“That’s one big Christmas tree,” Klaus said.

“You think that’s big? You should see the one mom puts out every year.” I giggled.

“My Mom is the same. I don’t even know how she gets that d*mn tree in the pack house. We have a joke in the family that Mon is part fairy, and she shrinks the tree and flies it in.” Alastair said.

“A fairy?” Klaus asked. He shook his head and chuckled.

“Yep.. I think Iza is the one who started it.. we were very young and she swore up and down for months that mom was part fairy. She was even mad at Mom because she didn’t pass down the “fairy gene”.” Alastair said.

“I’d be mad too.. fairies are cool.” I said with a laugh.

“Mom never had Christmas until she met Dad, so I think that’s why she goes all out. To give us what she never had.” I said. I will forever be grateful for the life my Momma gave me, she didn’t let the bad things that happened to her ruin everything.

“Our pups will be spoiled on Christmas! I love Christmas, it’s the best holiday. Gifts, music, lights, trees, family..” Klaus said. Ohh.. pups. I have what, half a week left before the elixir doesn’t work anymore?

“I can’t wait for pups.” Iris purred at the thought of mini versions of our mates.

“I.. don’t know how I feel about the idea of pups.. just yet,” I said.

“That’s okay. You don’t have to be ready. And we don’t have to get pregnant. We can be careful.” Iris said. Though, it’s a slim chance that a female Lycan won’t get pregnant by her mate during heat. Very, very slim chance.

“You know as well as I do it’s a difficult thing to do,” I said. I tried to imagine myself with a massive baby bump. It’s hard to imagine, but I can see it. A part of me is almost excited..

“Halloween is my favorite,” I said.

“Mine too.” Alexei kissed my cheek.

“I like thanksgiving the best,” Alastair said.

“Of course you do. The day literally consists mainly of food.” Alexei teased.

“And it is truly glorious.” Alastair sighed.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••

We walked for a while until the cold started to become too much. The heat from my body melted any and all snow that fell on me. So now I’m wet and cold.. on the verge of freezing.

“Goddess, let’s turn that heater up!” Klaus shivered as he reached for the heater button. The warm air felt amazing, my nose, lips, and ears were burning from being so cold.

“I think I’m done with the cold for a while.” Alastair shivered. He wrapped his cold arms around me and pulled me closer.

“Goddess, you’re an icicle,” I said. I rubbed my hands together and used my magic to help warm us up quickly.

“Gods that’s amazing. Why didn’t you do that out there? Or at least use your Phoenix gifts.” Alexei asked. He backed the car out and we began our drive home.

“I was,” I said. It’s just THAT COLD.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••

“April, love. We’re home.” Alexei’s soft voice broke me out of my sleep.

“I didn’t mean to fall asleep.” I smiled. I felt his arms wrap around me and he pulled me out of the car. The cold air made my n*pples hard enough to cut diamonds.

“Do you still want to watch movies?” He asked as he carried me to the front door. One of the guards opened the door and Alexei walked in.

“Yes, of course. You didn’t think you were getting out of the matching pajamas.. did you?” I smirked.

“Just thought I’d ask.” He smiled.

“I’m just ready to sit by the fireplace.” Alastair rushed past us and ran towards the stairs. Alexei put me down and we began to follow.

By the time we got upstairs, Alastair and Klaus were already halfway dressed. A huge smile grew on my face when I saw the pajamas. They’re flannel onesies without the feet.

“Here’s yours.” Klaus handed me my pajamas and socks.

“They’re so soft!” I ran my fingers over them as he smiled.

I quickly got dressed, I’d never felt so comfortable in my life! They’re soft, warm, and comfortable.

“These are my new favorite pajamas,” Iris said.

“Mine too.” I giggled. I followed my mates back downstairs and to the main hall.

“Oh.. I forgot about the couch.” I chuckled.

“That’s why we’re making a pallet in front of the fireplace,” Klaus said. He threw several blankets and pillows on the floor and began to arrange them neatly.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••

“And here’s your hot chocolate.” Alastair handed me a piping hot cup of hot cocoa.

“You even put extra marshmallows!” I said happily.

“I remember you told me you liked extra, extra marshmallows.” He said. He kissed my forehead after he handed Alexei and Klaus their mugs.

“You make a mean cup of cocoa,” Klaus said as he took a sip.

“Why, thank you.” Alastair puffed out his chest with pride. I rolled my eyes. Weirdos.

“I didn’t miss their first kiss, did I?” Alastair asked as he watched the screen.

“Nope, they got into an argument.. now she’s going back home.” Klaus shook his head at the tv.

“What?!” Alastair furrowed his brows. He really gets into these movies.. doesn’t he? I giggled to myself and shook my head.

Once the movie was over and I was looking for another one, Alexei disappeared out of the room.

“Where’s Alexei?” I asked as I looked around.

“Oh, he’ll be right back,” Alastair smirked.

“What time is it?” I asked.

“1 in the morning.” Klaus looked at his phone.

“Ohh!” I shot up and ran to the bench with their gifts inside. Thankfully, the cashier gave me the option to have them placed in gift bags. I HATE wrapping gifts.

“What are you doing?” Alastair asked.

“Getting things.” I opened the bench and grabbed the bags.

When I turned around Alexei was back in the room standing by the doorway.

“Merry Christmas.” He said.

“Merry Christmas.” I turned around.

“Merry Christmas!” Klaus and Alastair said at the same time. I ran back over to the pallet on the floor and set the gifts in front of me.

“Come.” I motioned for Alexei to come to me.

He took his seat next to me, though I could tell he was hiding something behind his back. It made a smile come to my face.

“Here.” I handed them all their bags and waited excitedly.

“You want us to open them now?” Klaus asked. I nodded my head quickly.

“I can’t wait. It’s too hard.” I said.

“Wait. You first, April.” Alastair said.

“Yes, you first.” Klaus smiled.

“Close your eyes,” Alexei said. Oh, goddess. I’m nervous.

I heard shuffling then silence.

“Open,” Alexei said. When I opened my eyes I was at a loss for words. All three of my mates kneeled in front of me, Alexei in the middle. He holds a small black velvet box in his hands.

Oh, goddess.

“You are the most perfect mate. None of us could’ve imagined how amazing it would feel to finally be with our soulmate. You’re strong, beautiful, kind, and funny.” Alexei said.

“You’ve forgiven us, you’ve loved us.. you’ve fought for us and cried for and with us.. you’re the person we call home. The person we want to wake up to for the rest of our lives.. the person we wish to have pups with.” Klaus said.

“You deserve happiness. Love.. you deserve it all. We’ve already marked you.. accepted you.. claimed you.. so we know you’re ours.. but it would mean the absolute world to us if you’d marry us.” Alastair said. Alexei opened the box. A beautiful dainty ring was staring dead at me. A massive black diamond in the middle surrounded by smaller white diamonds.

“Will you marry us, April?” Alexei asked.

Oh, goddess.
