Chapter 157 To Identify a Body Belonging to Miran Saira

Chapter 157 To Identify a Body Belonging to Miran Saira

“Evelyn, why won’t you wake up?” Adrian said sadly.

Alexander looked at him.

“Don’t worry, her body is just weak. She is having a hard time opening her eyes and goes back to sleep. The bottle was contaminated with rust, and it’s dangerous. If it enters the human body, it causes sudden and severe exhaustion. Luckily, the injury wasn’t that serious. Don’t worry, she’ll be fine.” Alexander said as he injected one of the shots into her arm.

Adrian held his head, extremely angry about the call. He went out and walked downstairs, thinking about the meaning of Kai’s words. He found Martin and Jack standing in the garden, practicing shooting. He walked toward them and said directly, “I want the security around the mansion tightened.”

Jack looked at him, as did Martin.

“Did something happen?” Martin asked.

“Do it.” Adrian looked at him coldly.

Adrian looked angry, so Martin avoided a long conversation and agreed right away. Adrian left and got into his car, heading toward someone, someone who had helped him greatly.

“What happened to him?” Jack asked.

“It must be something related to Kai or Miss Evelyn.” Martin sighed.

Martin went to carry out the order, leaving Jack to train alone.

Adrian arrived at a house by the sea. It was in a very quiet place. He knocked on the door while lost in thought, and the door was opened for him. An older man in his sixties stood there and smiled as soon as he saw Adrian.

“Adrian... I haven’t seen you in a while.” The man said in a rough voice.

Adrian walked toward him and hugged him directly.

“I’m very tired, sir.” Adrian said tiredly.

The man was surprised by his hug, but he patted his back.

“It’s okay if you’re a little tired... in the end, you’re the one who won.” The man said with a smile.

Adrian pulled away from the hug.

“I’m sorry for coming without warning.”

“It seems you missed me hitting you. This is your home, Adrian.” The man smiled.

Adrian smiled.

“Come on, let’s go inside and talk while we have some warm tea.”

Adrian agreed right away. He entered the house and sat on the sofa. The house was small, with the living room connected to the kitchen and two rooms on the side.

“I saw the news.” The man said calmly as he prepared the tea.

“Looks like I’ve become famous.” Adrian sighed.

The man laughed and said, “I’ve waited a long time for this day, but I don’t see you happy.”

Adrian sighed and held his head.

“Sir, you know what happened to my father. I already got revenge for him, but...” Adrian said, stopping himself.

“Do you love that lady?” the man asked.

“She has nothing to do with this.” Adrian said in broken words.

The man picked up the tray and walked toward Adrian, placing it on the table.

“Adrian, you need to be careful. Kai is still out there somewhere.”

“He called me and threatened to take something from me that I can’t get back, and I’m very confused.” Adrian said with a sigh.

The man poured tea for Adrian and handed it to him. Adrian took it.

“When I worked at your father’s company, Kai used to come because he was the vice president. He was very bossy, and everyone hated him.”

“One day, everyone was shocked when he walked into the company and said that it had become his. All I could think about was your father.”

He looked at Adrian. Adrian was sad, his eyes filled with tears. He wiped them away before they could fall. He was still weak when it came to this subject.

“I promised him at his grave that I would take care of his son, Adrian.”

The man messed up Adrian’s hair and continued speaking. “I searched for you like a madman and found you that day.”

“If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have finished my studies.” Adrian said as he drank from his glass, remembering the painful past with him.

The man looked at him, pride shining in his eyes.

“I’m proud of you, Adrian, and your father would be proud of you too.”

“If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have made it this far.” Adrian looked at him and said.

Adrian was in his office thinking about Evelyn. He had put his SIM card in another phone because his phone was broken. He had a second backup phone, and as soon as he inserted it, he received a call. He answered the unknown number.

“Who is this?” Adrian said coldly.

“Mr. Adrian?” someone said.

“Yes, who is this?” Adrian said coldly.

“Mr. Adrian... this is the police. We would like you to come to the hospital to identify a body belonging to Miran Saira.” The police officer said.

That shocked Adrian, making him stand up in shock.

“What? What are you talking about?” Adrian shouted in worry.

“Please calm down, sir. Come to the morgue to identify her.” The police officer said and hung up.

Adrian was stunned. He walked toward the door and opened it, crying without realizing it. Dominic was there.

“What’s wrong? I heard you shouting.” Dominic asked worriedly.

“Dominic, where is my mother?” Adrian asked through his tears.

“What? Do you mean Mrs. Maro? She’s in the kitchen.” Dominic said, but Adrian interrupted him.

“Damn it, no... I mean my real mother. Please tell me she’s in her room.” Adrian said through tears and tension.

Dominic understood nothing. Adrian passed him and ran toward his mother’s room. Dominic didn’t understand anything.

“Mom... Mom.” Adrian cried.

The room was empty. Only her scent remained.

“Mom.”

Maro and everyone else came upstairs. Adrian was crying without even knowing why, but she was his mother in the end, he was a piece of her. He looked at Maro and walked toward her. She knew right away that something had happened to Miran.

“Mom... please tell me where Mrs. Miran is. She’s okay, right?” Adrian asked through tears and trembling.

Maro cried.

“Why are you crying? Are you hiding something from me, huh?”

Maro became tense, but forced herself to speak.

“No... but Miran gave me this... and said she was very sorry.” Maro said through tears, placing that chip in his hand. Everyone understood nothing.

Adrian looked at the chip while crying, his hands trembling.

“What do you mean?” Adrian said in broken words.

Maro cried harder. “I tried to stop her, but she wouldn’t listen. She’s the one who went, Adrian... Kai has something to do with it, and he threatened her with Marcus.” Maro said through tears.

Adrian was shocked as he looked at her, crying hard and trembling. He put the chip into the computer and activated a method that made everything on the computer appear on the television. The video was activated while he trembled badly. He found a video of Miran sitting there, looking very beautiful and smiling. He played the video, and her voice came out.
