Chapter 91 Chapter 91

Chapter 91 Chapter 91
Clara's POV:

I knew that Jace wanted to do a DNA test for Kevin today to determine if my son was his child. He had already mentioned that he would have Kevin registered at his family hospital.

I didn't have any objection, except that I would not be doing the DNA test with him. Even though Celine was my twin sister, I knew that we have different DNA and different blood, and I didn't want to try the DNA test to see how much our blood matched.

As I went downstairs to the living room to have my breakfast and get ready to leave for the hospital with Jace and Kevin, the sound of a car arriving in our home caught my attention, and I went to the balcony to see who it was.

Upon seeing that my parents' car had arrived, I giggled and went to get Kevin in his movable baby bed, then I drove him out of the room and into the elevator.

Kevin was awake and, thankfully, not crying. I made sure that Tina had given him enough food and bathed him.

Surprisingly, Tina was a 23-year-old woman, and she could handle babies. She mentioned that her elder sister had welcomed triplets, and she had helped look after the babies before she got a job to work for Jace here as a maid.

So, I was saved from the stress of having to bathe Kevin and put him in new clothes and diapers. Gross, I couldn't do all that, and I was thankful that Tina was skilled in such tasks.

Kevin was my child, and I had already adopted him as mine. As long as Celine didn't say anything to anyone.

As I arrived at the ground floor with Kevin, I rushed to greet my family, as I hadn't seen them since the last six months that Celine had gone missing.

"Mom, Dad," I gave my parents a warm hug. My mother was holding a walking stick in her right hand, so I was careful to hug her.

"Congratulations, Clara. How have you been?" Mom asked, and I grinned.

"I'm fine, Mom. What happened to you?"

"I'm fine. You heard what happened to me, and you never bothered to come to the hospital to pay me a visit," Mom said, with a frown, and I sighed.

"I'm sorry, Mom."

"It's alright. Luca already told us that you were pregnant, and we didn't want to bother you. That's why I didn't get annoyed with you. How are you and your baby? He is a boy, right?" Mom drew near my son's bed to look at him. Kevin was awake and looking at her too.

"Yes, he is a boy," I replied, smiling as my mother admired my baby.

"You did well. I hadn't thought that you would have been able to get pregnant. You shouldn't have gotten Celine involved. Now she has cut ties with us." A melancholy expression settled on my mother's face, and I frowned.

"I'm sorry, Mom."

"It's alright. What matters is that Celine is well, and you are fine too. I hope that you will learn your lesson and not do anything drastic again," Mom said, as Dad sat silently in the living room couch, looking at us.

"I wouldn't," I said as I shifted my face to look at Jace.

I knew that Jace wanted a divorce, but he didn't bring it up in the presence of my parents, maybe because he had heard that my mother had almost had a cardiac arrest.

"Come and join us for breakfast, Ma. We were about to have our breakfast," Jace invited my parents and Luca to join us at the dining table.

"Thank you, in-law. Though we had our breakfast before coming over," my mother said with a smile as she moved gently to the dining room to join us.

Esther and Tina came out of the kitchen to serve our breakfast, which consisted of custard, milk, and two slices of bread. Though I would have opted for tea, it was Jace's choice.

Once my parents and Luca joined Jace and me at the table, I sat beside Jace, and his masculine scent enveloped me. I had missed him a lot.

Jace didn't act affectionately with me, not even in the presence of my parents, but I didn't want to push for his attention.

My parents and Luca sat across from Jace and me, and they had gentle smiles on their faces.

Luca looked like he had a lot to ask me, but because of our parents, he held himself back.

After our breakfast ended, Mom educated me on what I should be eating and how to take care of Kevin. Then she presented the baby clothes and shoes that she had purchased for him.

"We have to be on our way now, Clara. Take care of yourself and your husband, alright," Mom said, while Jace had an expressionless look on his face as I shifted my face to look at his.

"Don't worry, Mom. It's my responsibility to take care of my husband, so you have nothing to worry about him," I said, and she nodded.

Dad looked at Jace and said, "Mr. Augustus, my in-law, I know that you are still holding a grudge against us for siding with Clara to have you marry her twin. But it's because we love you and do not want our family to break off connection with yours. You have been a support to us, and we are very thankful for it."

Jace clicked his tongue and said, "You are welcome, sir. I will always be of great help to you anytime that you are in need of my assistance. No matter what might happen in the future."

I knew that Jace was hinting at the divorce between us, but my parents didn't understand.

"Thank you for forgiving us and still living peacefully with our daughter, Clara. That's all that we prayed and wished for. And thankfully, Celine is well and safe wherever she might be. I believe someday she will come back, maybe when she sees the man that she wants to marry," My father said. But when I looked at Jace's face, I saw the flicker of emotions in his eyes, though he was holding back his emotions.

Looking away from us, Jace said, "Let me see you off. Clara and I want to make an arrangement to take Kevin to my family hospital for registration, as his birth hospital is far from here."

"Alright, Mr. Augustus. You're too kind, and we are glad that you have a forgiving heart too. Clara, take care of your baby and husband, and don't do anything silly again," Dad looked at me as he warned me.

"Alright, Dad," I replied and watched him exit the house with my mother.

I followed behind my family as I escorted them out, but Jace ensured to keep his distance from me, which I was sure my family wasn't noticing.

"Goodbye, Mom, Dad," I waved at my parents as Luca pulled the car door for them.

Mom got into the car first, followed by Dad, and Luca carefully closed the door.

"Goodbye, Clara," Mom waved to me, and the security man pulled the gate open as Luca drove off.

Sighing, I turned to go back into the mansion with Jace. But Jace paused at the entrance, not looking directly at my face as he said, "Inform Tina to bring Kevin out."

"Alright," I said, as I wanted to go inside.

Jace's eyes caught sight of the ring I am wearing, and he turned around sharply, catching me closely. He demanded, "Who gave you this ring?" His eyes flashed in anger at me.
