Chapter 106 Chapter 106

Chapter 106 Chapter 106
Celine's POV

After I got home and made dinner for my son and myself, I assisted Kaleb to have his bath, and we had our dinner together.

Afterwards, Kaleb went to his room to sleep, while I surfed the internet to check on Ava. It had been five years, and I had no idea that she had gotten married to Martin, or I would have run into her.

She was the last person I expected to see.

Sitting in my room, as I had just finished having my bath, I donned a white nightdress and picked up my laptop.

Positioning it on my bed, I went online using my laptop device to check through Ava's profile that I had added before on my old page.

Ava doesn't have any work of her own, so she was still with Martin, and they were a couple now.

My fingers clicked through the mouse as I took a scroll across all the pictures. Sighing, I signed out of the page as I logged offline.

"I don't have anything to do with Ava. So there's no point in me reconnecting with her or acting like I know her," I spoke to myself. Then I went to my bed to sleep.

As I plopped down on the bed, I adjusted my features to get comfortable. Using the bed cover, I draped it over myself and drifted off to sleep.

The next day, I set off to leave for the Restaurant, and I knew that I had already made a promise to Edwin that I would give him a call and make a short trip to his Restaurant.

As usual, I assisted Kaleb with his daily routine: his bath, brushing his teeth, and selecting a nice set of clothes that I wanted him to wear. We settled on twinning in a brown shirt and trousers. As I had the same material, but mine was a brown dress.

Once I was done with helping my son dress up, I went to have my own bath and dressed up in the brown dress.

We had our breakfast of a plate of custard mixed with milk and also bread.

After that, Kaleb and I set off to leave for work. As I got into my car, I decided to give Edwin a call because I knew that once I got to my Restaurant, I would be preoccupied.

"Hello," I spoke to him as soon as Edwin answered the call with his deep voice.

"Hello, who is this?" Edwin asked with his deep voice.

"This is Ann on the line," I replied, just as I fastened my seatbelt and spoke with him.

"I am preparing to leave for my Restaurant, so I decided to give you a call first. To discuss the business collaboration," I said.

"Oh, that's fine. I will come by noon to have the conversation with you, as I assumed you will be busy this morning," Edwin said, his voice excited to hear mine.

"Yeah, I am. Afternoon is best. Take care, and my warm regards to Justin," I said, and Edwin agreed, "Sure. I will bring him along when I am coming by."

"Alright. You can save my number," I ended the call after saying that. My gaze shifted to peer at my son's face, and I saw the deep scowl etched on his face.

"What's the matter, Kaleb?" I asked him, pretending like I didn't know what was wrong with him.

"Mom, you are asking about that little boy?" Kaleb protested, his face contorted in a deep scowl. His arms wrapped around his chest with disapproval as he glanced away with a look of jealousy.

"Kaleb, Justin is staying with his Dad, just like you are with me. I guess his mother is not around, so I am just being nice to ask about him. I'm sure Edwin felt the same way about you too."

"But he is not my Daddy," Kaleb said, and I sighed.

"Yeah, let's get to work. You have me here with you, right?" I asked, but Kaleb remained quiet and brooding.

"You behave a lot like your dad, and it's not a good thing to be jealous," I teased Kaleb, and his eyes widened in surprise.

"Really?"

"Yeah, my eyes on the road. We'll talk later," I drove out of the estate where I resided with my son and headed for my Restaurant.

I had made up my mind to partner with Edwin even if I run into Jace. I'm sure that Jace wouldn't recognize me either. And I know that running away isn't the solution.

"When can I see my dad?" Kaleb asked, just as I drove into my Restaurant.

"When you turn five years old, okay?"

"Alright."

"Let's go inside the resturant. It's just three months away, and you'll be five years old," I teased Kaleb, and he smiled.

"I know."

As we got out of the car, my son and I went into the Restaurant to get busy with my work for the day.

While Kaleb got busy watching a cartoon movie in my office on the television, I left him and went to the kitchen to assist in the meals that haven't been prepared yet.

By 1 pm, I was back in my office when Becky came to inform me about Edwin's arrival.

I rushed back into my office, and Edwin was there, dressed in a yellow shirt and black trousers. He looked at me with a bright smile on his handsome face.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Edwin," I said to him politely, and we shook hands.

Edwin held my hand firmly, and his son was with him as well. But Justin wore a blue top, brown jeans, and black shoes.

"Good afternoon, Ma," Justin greeted with a happy face, coming forward to shake my hands too. Not minding Kaleb's glare.

Kaleb didn't bother to welcome the father and son into my office. He scowled away and looked back at his cartoon. As I shifted my gaze back to Edwin, I gestured for him to have a seat.

"Yes, about the contract for partnering with your hotel. This will be the first time that I am offering a partnership deal, which is against my principle," I said, just as I settled on my chair across from Edwin and his son.

Justin looked at Kaleb and wanted to go and play with my son, but Kaleb glanced at him with a cold expression.

"I should consider myself lucky then," Edwin said, interrupting my attention away from the kids.

"Yes, so I will draft out the contract deal. The contract will only run for a year. I think after that, your hotel chef will already master how I prepare my meals," I said, and Edwin smiled.

"Alright, I will be looking forward to the contract. I am okay with that," he agreed, while I looked back at the laptop screen.

"I will contact my lawyer to get it ready today. Maybe by tomorrow, I will visit your hotel with my son, to see how your hotel restaurant looks and to meet your chef," I spoke at last, and Edwin grinned. His eyes watching my face intently.

Though I was uncomfortable, I ensured to wear my eyeglasses today.

"There's no problem with that. Justin and I will have our lunch, and after that, we will take our leave. Come on, Justin, let's go." Edwin stood up to leave my office, and his son followed him as they left.

I smiled and watched them leave, as I waved goodbye to Justin.

After my office door closed, I looked back at my son, who had left his couch to come and meet me.

"Mom, I'm hungry," Kaleb said, and I sighed and ordered him, "Go and meet Becky. I have to speak with my lawyer."

"Alright, Mom," Kaleb left my office, and I proceeded to contact my lawyer in Banana Island.
