Chapter 104 Chapter 104

Chapter 104 Chapter 104
(Celine's POV)

"Mom," Kaleb nudged my skirt, and he stood near me and peered at my face. His hands firmly holding the skirt, and he frowned.

"What's it, Kaleb?" I sat back, my blue eyes looking intensely at my son's innocent face.

"Why are you smiling at that kid?" He asked, his sharp eyes watching mine.

"Kaleb, don't tell me that you are jealous that the little boy likes me? He is your new friend, and don't be jealous of him. He is not going to take your mom away," I ruffled my son's hair as I pecked him on his cheek.

"Come, let's go home. We don't have all the time for today to look around, and I intend to make a delicious soup for you, okay. I'm sure that you'll be happy after that," I finished packing my bag and reached for Kaleb's hand to take him home.

"Promise me, Mom, that you won't play with that boy again?"

"Kaleb," I looked at my son's sad face, as he didn't want to go home.

"Getting sad over that kid? When did this new character come from? I cannot remember that you are a jealous boy. And don't tell me not to play with another kid because you are scared of me leaving you. I am your Mom, alright. And nothing will change that. Come on, be a big boy, and let's go."

I slid my hand onto my son's hand as he wasn't happy that I was smiling with Justin.

Justin has a carefree nature, unlike my son, who was protective. I wonder how Kevin was, since Kaleb was possessive of me?

Where did my son get this trait from? Maybe Jace. I pondered, and I led Kaleb to my car.

I saw Justin and his Dad just getting into their car too. As Edwin was speaking to a man who arrived at my Restaurant.

Though, Kaleb and I went home on time at 6 pm. But because of my restaurant's popularity, my staff shut the Restaurant at 8 pm.

"Goodbye, ma'am," Justin waved at me from inside Edwin's car.

I raised my hand and waved back as I helped Kaleb to sit in the car, and Kaleb appeared grumpy while I smiled, tucked his seatbelt, and got into the driver's seat.

I think most boys got their jealousy and possessiveness from childhood.

As I got into my car and fastened my seatbelt, I roared the car to life and drove out of the Restaurant parking.

Then I made a stop at the market nearby to shop for some frozen chicken and also steak, as I wanted to prepare okra soup for Kaleb.

Kaleb remained silent while I parked my car at the market.

"Kaleb, are you coming along?" I asked him, but he shook his head.

"No, Mom. You go alone," he looked away, his gaze fixated on the window.

"It's not good to leave a kid in a car. So, come on, we'll shop fast," I said, as I helped my son to unfasten his belt.

Kaleb got out of the car, and we went into the store together.

After completing our purchase, as I got out of the store with my son to head back to the car, we came across someone screaming, "Hello! Excuse me! Are you Celine?"

I froze. My instinct kicked in?

No way was I going to admit that I am Celine.

"Hey! Wait up!" A woman's voice called from behind me.

I walked away, holding my son's hand firmly. But another woman in front of me stopped me.

"Hello, Ma'am. That lady is calling you," the woman in front said. I looked at her face and saw that she was a middle-aged woman.

I didn't want to be disrespectful, so I waited and glanced backward as I was holding Kaleb's hand.

However, as I looked back, my eyes widened in shock at the sight that beheld me.

Ava Kingsley. She was running up to meet me, holding a little girl who was like my son's age on her hand.

"Hey, Celine! It's you! Oh, my goodness! It's been five years! You are still alive!" Ava exclaimed as she let go of her daughter and rushed to hug me, even before I was given a chance to deny that I knew her.

"Hey, sorry. Who are you?" I asked her at last. There was no way that I was going to ever admit to knowing Ava.

What if she informed Clara? I could remember how she betrayed me then and told Jace that I was pretending to be Clara.

The memory came flooding back now that I saw her again.

Ava's eyes widened in disbelief.

"Celine, it's me, Ava. Don't you remember? I know that I wronged you then. Please, I am sorry. I truly missed you and our friendship," Ava said, not wanting to believe that I am not Celine Mason.

"I'm sorry, Miss. Maybe you got the wrong woman. I am not Celine, and I don't know you from anywhere," as I said those words to Ava, her eyes reddened with tears.

"Ava!" I heard a deep voice call her name. I didn't need to turn back to see who it was.

That voice. I could recognize that voice even in my dream.

Martin Enzo. My ex-boyfriend.

"Ava, what's going on? Who was that?" Martin asked, but I didn't bother to look back at them. As I grabbed my son's hand and told him, "Let's go, Kaleb."

"I..." Ava hesitated to answer the words. Her voice broken as she was conflicted, wondering if she saw the right woman.

"I don't know, she resembles Celine Mason," Ava said, as she added, "but she said that she is not the one."

"Celine? Are you sure?" Martin asked, there was a little hesitance in his voice.

"Yeah," Ava replied. She didn't come after me with Martin.

I didn't add Ava up on my new page online. I didn't bother to search for anyone from Turkey Island.

"Wait up! Hello, excuse me!" Martin chased after me, just when Kaleb and I arrived at my car in the parking.

The surrounding was turning dark as it was getting close to 7 pm.

"Hello, excuse me, ma'am. Are you Celine?" Martin asked as he reached to stop me.

I unlocked the door and told Kaleb, "Get in the car."

Once my son sat on the front passenger's seat, I shut the door and turned to look at Martin.

He had changed. Thanks to Clara helping him to secure a big job at Jace's construction company.

"Excuse me, do I know you before?" I clearly denied knowing him.

"Celine..." Martin said my name, and I rolled my eyes at him. My expression firm, and I blamed it on forgetting to wear my glasses.

"I am not Celine, and if you and your woman go on harassing me next time and calling me, Celine, then I will have you both arrested. Please excuse me." I walked away from Martin and moved over to the other side of my car and got into the driver's seat.

Martin stood looking at me in shock as he watched me drive away.

I saw Ava went to meet him, and my mind rang alarm bells, hoping that no one dared to inform Clara that I am in Banana Island.

I wasn't ready to face Clara or Jace, or Luca.

"Mom, do you know that man?" Kaleb asked, as he sat in the front passenger's seat of my car.

"No, I don't know him. He is mistaken me for someone else," I told my son, and he nodded, not saying anything else.

Sighing, I drove at a steady pace, watching my car's rearview mirror to see if I wasn't being followed, then I drove back to the estate that I live with my son.
