Chapter 100 Chapter 100

Chapter 100 Chapter 100
Jace's POV:

"Kevin, you know that I love you and I want the best for you. But all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. You should minimize reading and tell me any place that you want to travel to. I will take you there for vacation."

Kevin looked at me and asked, "Will Mom follow us?"

I looked at my four-year-old son's face. He's still going to be five years old in three months' time.

"No. Your mom isn't coming with us. Or do you want her to? You know that she has different work to do. I just want to play with you so that you stop acting cold like an unwanted child. Your school teacher complained that you don't like to associate with anyone in school and you are always alone, which isn't good," I said to my son with a soft voice as I caressed his hair.

Kevin has short black hair. He leaned beside me with his small frame and looked at my face.

"I don't like traveling, Dad. I get scared," he complained.

"We will travel with a private airline. Are you okay now?" I asked him, and he nodded.

"Okay. When I come up with a place for us to travel to, then we can go there. How about Uncle Edwin and Justin?" Kevin asked, and I sighed.

"Edwin isn't around. He traveled to Banana Island for his new hotel completion. We can go there for his launching party if you want," I told Kevin, and he frowned.

"I don't like hotels. Justin said that many nàked women are there, so I don't want to see them," My son looked serious, and I smiled.

I cannot believe that Edwin took Justin to his club house after he won the custody of his son, since his baby mama was using his son to defraud him. He takes Justin literally everywhere that he goes.

I smiled and replied, "It's not a club, so you aren't going to see any náked woman. Also, you can put on sunglasses to block the views of seeing any unclothed woman, but I will tell him not to bring any náked woman around, understand? Also, they aren't náked but called strippers," I corrected my son, but he scowled.

"They are naked like Mom, always in a bikini," Kevin's scowl deepened as he must have seen Clara modeling in a pant and bra.

"It's alright. Come, let's go for our dinner. Did Clara tell you where she went to?" I asked Kevin as he walked with me out of his room.

"No, Dad. Mom doesn't tell me anything. She said I should stay away from her since I chose to resemble you," Kevin said, and I sighed.

"Kevin," I squatted to meet his height and looked at his face.

"Your Mom loves you, okay? Your Mom and I have our issues, and she offended me long before you were born. She made me sin against God and my chieftaincy, and I feel dishonored to have her as my wife. I want you to know that you will always be my son, and no one else has your place in my heart," I caressed my son's soft black hair, and he nodded.

"Okay, Dad. Since you do not like my Mom, do you want to marry another wife?" Kevin asked as I rose to my feet in front of him.

"No! Why should I marry another wife? Don't worry. Someday you will understand me better. Just keep growing and try to be a happy boy and not bother yourself with your mom. She is enjoying her life, and you are here getting annoyed on her behalf. It's not good for your health, and I want you to be happy. Okay?"

"Okay, Dad. I will try," Kevin met my gaze and nodded, and I complimented him, "Good boy."

We went downstairs to the living room, and Esther and Tina still work for me, even though they were married. They prepare all my requests before leaving by 8 pm.

"Welcome, sir. What should we serve for dinner?" Esther asked. She was pregnant with her second child, and I looked at her baby bump.

It reminded me of when Clara was still pregnant. I never got closer to her or tried to touch her stomach to see how Kevin was kicking inside.

"You're heavily pregnant. You should take a break from work and go home until you put to bed," I told Esther, and she smiled.

"I am still fit to work, sir," Esther protested, just as Kevin and I took our seats at the dining table.

"I know that you are fit to work, but for your child's sake. Also, you don't have to worry about getting replaced. I will keep your job vacant like before," I said when I knew that Esther was scared of losing her job to work for me. She has a small daughter who is two years old and stays with her mother.

"Alright, sir. Thank you," Esther smiled, and I sat next to my son for us to have our dinner.

Esther and Tina, and Kevin's new Nanny, Diane, a middle-aged woman, worked together to serve our meals.

They served two plates of jollof rice and fried chicken for me and Kevin.

I had my dinner with my son as we ate silently. Yet, Clara hasn't returned back from work.

I didn't bother to call Clara because I didn't know when she closed from her work.

I finished dinner with my son and escorted him back to his room on the second floor.

"Kevin, have you had your bath?" I asked him as we arrived at his room door.

"No, Dad. Do you want to bathe me? I can bathe myself," he said, and I sighed.

"Alright. Since you are a big boy, I will leave you to your room, okay?" I caressed his hair, and he nodded.

"Okay, Dad. Goodnight," Kevin waved to me and slowly closed his door. I sighed and turned to proceed to the top floor that was my room.

After a while, I went to my bathroom to have my bath and to change into my night robe.

The sound of a car arriving at my home caught my attention.

I moved over to the room window to gaze out, and Clara was back as she drove her black car speedily into my residence and parked it.

She staggered, getting out of her car as she wore a short blue dress that could barely cover her buttócks, and her ample bosom was on full display.

I looked away from Clara, as I knew that this was her usual habit: going to parties and drinking herself out.

I went back to my study to busy myself. So far, for the last five years, I hadn't heard from Celine either. She didn't come online or even attend Luca's wedding with Martha.

Luca said that he hasn't been able to reach Celine since then, but he assured me that the text message was from Celine and no one else.

I sighed, going through our old memories. I was still wearing my own diamond ring, and I pondered if I would take a new wife like Kevin was asking me to.

Kevin wants younger siblings, but my parents didn't know that Clara and I were worlds apart. Even when we live together in the same house, we greeted each other like neighbors and go our separate ways, except for having our meals together.

My phone buzzed with an incoming notification from Edwin, and he said, "Guess who I saw today?"

I frowned, wondering who Edwin could have seen.
