Chapter 101 Chapter 101
Chapter 101 Chapter 101
Jace's POV:
I was not in the mood to chat with Edwin, and he added, "She looks so beautiful, like your wife, Clara. I asked her if she knew who Clara was, but she said no. Unfortunately, I don't have her picture online, but she is like a beauty goddess, and her restaurant is the number one here in Banana Island. You need to come and have a taste of her wonder, my bro."
I frowned after reading Edwin's message, and I decided to call him instead.
"What's wrong with you? Who are you talking about?" I asked him, and he laughed.
"What's up, Jace? How are you doing? I just met a beautiful chef today, and I was recommended that her food is quite delicious, giving that homemade flavor that makes you feel at home. I ate her food today, and Justin cannot stop asking me when we will visit her restaurant again."
I rolled my eyes after hearing Edwin's words.
"I am not interested in that. Is this why you called me?" I asked him, almost sounding annoyed.
"Relax, man. Her food is top-notch, and you are saying that you aren't interested. Well, that's your headache, but what amused me was that she happened to resemble Clara, only that she had red hair, and her eyelashes aren't long and bìtchy as your wife's."
"What do you mean? What's her name?" I asked, trying to calm myself that Edwin wasn't referring to Celine. It has been more than five years, and Edwin only met Celine thrice. Would he still recognize her?
"Her name is Ann Mason."
"What?! Can you send me her photo? Let me see her face," I asked Edwin, and he laughed.
"Relax, Jace. She is not Celine, and she has no idea who Clara is. She isn't fazed or nervous when I mentioned Clara to her. She appeared blank with no familiarity about who Clara is, so I didn't bother to tell her about you," Edwin said, making my heart beat louder.
"What if she is truly Celine? What if she was pretending with you?" I asked Edwin, and he laughed.
"Haha, I hope that she was pretending, but she is not. She has a child, a boy actually, and she is a single mother," Edwin said, and I sighed.
"Are you sure about this? Can you send me her photos? Let me have a look?" I asked.
"I am sorry. I also searched her page, but you cannot see any photos of her, only her foods and delivery staff's videos," Edwin commented, and I frowned.
"Well, Celine is a baker, but she knows how to cook. Is it possible that she is the one? Well, I will take the next flight down to Banana Island to find out for myself, so don't bother about lying to me," I said, and Edwin laughed.
"Hahaha, wait a minute, Jace. Don't tell me that you want to come here to Banana Island to pester a woman who isn't your wife's lost twin. She is not Celine, and you better not disturb her. I tend to like her, and I want to chase after her. I think we have a connection. She is a single mother, and I am a single father too, and we can make a good match."
"Shut the fụck up, Edwin, and keep off from her. Until I confirm that she is not Celine, then you can chase after her. But if she is Celine, then you should keep off from her," I said, almost yelling at my friend.
"Jace, it's been five years. You are too old for this. You cannot be in love with any woman who happens to resemble your wife, so you don't have to come here. A 40-year-old man chasing after his long-lost love. How interesting," Edwin mocked me, and I growled.
"You are no different, too. You are 39, so you are also old, too," I retorted.
"Fine. Let's hope that she is not Celine Mason. I sincerely do love her," Edwin said, and I sighed.
"We will see about that. This Friday, Kevin and I will be there, so keep a room for us in your apartment."
"Why my house? You should find somewhere to lodge," Edwin complained.
"Make the reservation for us then. I will give you a call later. Goodnight," I ended the call on Edwin, feeling a lightness in my heart.
After that, I rose from my home office chair, then I went back to the second floor to find Clara.
"Clara," I called her name as I arrived at her room door and knocked on it.
Clara carefully pulled the door open and peered at me.
"Jace, what are you doing here?" She asked me, smiling and giggling.
"Where did you go to? And why are you just coming back now?" I asked her, as she was wrapped in a white towel around her chest.
She looked like she had just finished having her bath.
"Jace, I do not owe you an explanation of where I went to or where I am coming from. I am an adult, and I am free to do whatever I like and live my life the way I want it. Besides, for the past five years now and going to six years, you refused to have sex with me. You turned into a celibate because of my twin sister. Does your dìck not hurt you that much that you are depriving it from ejaculating?" Clara asked with a smirk as she crossed the line between us and grasped my crotch.
"Get your filthy hands off me, and don't dare to touch me again. I am warning you. Sign the divorce papers and leave my house. You can live however way that you want to from your father's house or the comfort of your home. If this continues, I will sue you to court and claim full custody of my son, as you are spoiling him with your bad influence!" I warned Clara, grasping her hands away from touching mine.
"Kevin is my son, and you have no right to take him away from me. You cannot send me away, Jace, so deal with it," Clara yelled.
"Mmm. Then I will move out of this house for you to live here alone. I am warning you. Limit your bad behaviors away from Kevin. You don't have to be cruel to him or tell him that you don't love him because of me. You are his mother, and try to be understanding with him. Telling a four-year-old boy that you don't like him because he resembles me. That's the height of it all!" I glared at Clara, and she looked away and removed the white towel strapped around her chest.
"Take a good look at me, Jace! Where am I lacking? Don't you miss me? My touch and what we did before Celine came between us. For the record, my twin sister is happily married while you are here sacrificing your innocent manhood for her. Please, Jace…"
"I want you…" Clara moved over to touch me, but I pushed her away and looked away from her.
"Just keep your distance or leave my house." I walked out of Clara's room, but my chest hurt to hear that Celine was married.
Even if Celine is married, I desire to see her again and to know if she is truly married or not. I chose not to believe what Clara said to me. So, I went back to my room on the top floor.
However, as I turned to leave the corridor, I caught sight of my son, Kevin, peeking out of his room door. He could have heard me and his mother's voice.
"Kevin," I called him, but he shut his door and went back into his room. He knows that I didn't like his mother, and he wasn't happy about the way that I treated Clara.
"Kevin," I went to his door and knocked on it, but Kevin refused to open up. I sighed and turned to go back to my room on the top floor, and I saw Clara walked out of her room. She had worn a purple night dress.
"Why are you disturbing Kevin? You are the one with a bad influence, and you should keep away from my son," Clara said. I looked back at Kevin's door. He didn't bother to come out and greet his mother.
Sighing, I looked away from Clara and went to the top floor to my room.
