62: Terrified

62: Terrified

I took a audible breath of both power, admiration and satisfaction as I stood still watching my reflection glow.

My beauty radiated in every possible way, from the crown on my head to the heels on which I walked with, nothing of splendor was missing.

'Being a fairly tale princess might not be too bad after all, I can as well be incharge of both Derek and his people ' I thought, smiling, closing my hands gently before the mirror.

The thought of mindlinking Derek came to me and I waved it off by reminding myself that I can't, but for the main time because it learnable.

'Learning how to do that won't be a big deal, at least I can get to control Derek....what a shame Derek" I thought aloud, happy.

Having a new sense of power and belonging, I turned to leave but paused to say some final words to my reflection.

"I'll make a good leader, oh...a great one at that" my words were bold and meaningful to me, staring and smiling.

The large entrance door opened ajar for me to go through as the rest of the pack rose on witnessing my presence.

With smiling, cheering and roars of disbelief, they welcomed me with an applaud while I waved gently back at them just as I've watched princesses do in the T.v.

Everyone seems excited to see me, they all had a pleased look on their faces including the guards standing by the door.

My eyes caught gaze of Derek staring at me from a safe distance and I flashed him a bright smile which he responded to with a false one.

'killing you would be a better option, not trying to control you.... go under instead my dear' I thought with a smirk on which I immediately erased into a smile as, approaching the woman front of everyone.

She stood still with her head raised up with confidence, her striking beauty void of makeup can't be compared with that of the twenty century even at her elderly age.

Her height was that of a mancho and she looked healthy and built to me too, her dark pretty eyes made her bitch-resting look made me feel imminent harm.

I walked up to her and took a slight bow as tradition demands, she looked away from me to get the knife she must have prepared for me.

She slit my palm and her's, placed our slitted pals together and I felt a surge of power different from the one I have ever felt before.

My body shook slightly but wasn't noticable by anyone in the gathering excluding her, she silently had her dark eyes on me all along.

Her eyes went around my face, searching for something obviously, she afterwards gave me a blue serum to drink.

I smiled and handed the cup back to her, she smiled too and returned the cup from a tray close to us, carried by a maiden who has her appearance.

My head felt light and everything was about to go off when I shook life into myself and smiled brightly at everyone present but continued feeling different.

Anxious, confused and freightened, I looked around the find Derek's face staring at me, terrified, he was close now.

"You are now and hereby pronounced 'Luna Elena'" she mentioned and the crowd roared with cheering, compliments and clapping.

I watched them lavish gifts before me as well as compliments and celebrating while some young ladies took photos and other few did videos.

I noticed Derek's eye glued to my body for the last twenty minutes, still looking terrified.

"You can go have seat my dear" the woman called out to me in midst of my thoughts, beaconing on me to have seat close to Derek.

I smiled and bowed gracefully before walking out of what seem to be like the stage, to meet Derek sitting close to an empty seat.

The sudden tension in me grew rapidly as I moved close to him on his majestic throne, his face appeared to be soaked with sweat but was dried and radiant in reality.

I smiled and took a slight bow before him and sat close to him still having my permanent smile on.

It soon enough became obvious that he was scared, anxious and confused, I was feeling his emotions all this while when he watched me closely.

"What is happening?....what are you afraid of?" I asked tenderly with a faint smile on my face.

His silence didn't only annoyed me but almost scared me too as he fixed his gaze in me like he has seen a ghost or his nemesis.

For some seconds, I felt like something really bad was going to happen soon, maybe to him if he keeps me waiting for too long.

He didn't utter a word but kept staring at my eyes in a strange manner, he looks like someone having a lucid vision.

"You can tell me at least" I managed to say as a sweet smile broke out of my face and I seemed ready to finish what someone had started.

"I can feel your emotions dear, what's wrong?" I asked looking away from him like warning him to speak up for the last time before I strike.

Still feeling different, I turned to look at him to find him still staring at me without blinking, fixed, terrified and surprised.

He stood up and took me by the hand and gently led me out of sight of anyone, stopped and looked into my eyes shakingly and asked.

"Who are you and where are you from,... what are you?"  his voice trying to sound with authority but quenched on noticing my movement.

I took few steps backwards to see his face clearly, he was more scared than when he had seen Rex.

Nothing came to my mind as a reply so we stood and stare at each other while our eyes did the talking.

He seems more horrified than I'm confused, nothing of such had happened in the history of me being around in the pack, I've never seen Derek this terrified.

I watched him transfixed, unable to blink comfortably, I could hear his heart racing and his heartbeat pounding.

He didn't move an inch.
