Chapter 127

Chapter 127

Autumn's POV

“What the hell is wrong with you?” I shouted after pushing him away.

I expected him to feel remorseful for what he did, but he didn't feel any remorse at all, and it was as if he was doing it to piss me off. I stared at him while touching my lips.

He looked too happy doing it, and I can't believe that he became this shameless despite me rejecting them so many times. What the hell are they trying to do? His brother was also acting shameless earlier.

“You jerk! You did this to me and you still don't feel sorry about it, right? What is wrong with you?” I fired at him again, but he only continued smiling at me. Then he finally spoke. “I just wanted to taste your lips. They're so good to kiss and they're very soft.”

“Are you sick? That isn't what I asked you. Why would you kiss me?” I snapped at him again.

He shrugged. “You're supposed to be acting as our mate, right? Besides that, you are our real mate. I don't think there's any reason for me not to kiss you.”

“You—” I took a deep breath to calm myself down. “You should eat the rest of your food yourself, you jerk!”

I rushed out of the room because I was starting to embarrass myself. I can't believe that my face was getting red just because of a kiss. I mean, it's not that important, but why do I feel so hot thinking about it? I want to smack his fucking head for being so annoying. What's his deal with me anyway?

I went to look for Gina, who was sleeping in her room. Her brother wasn't there, but there were some guards at her door, which gave me a little bit of assurance because I didn't want those people coming after her for helping me. We never know who they are and what they are doing to watch us. I just have to investigate as soon as possible.

I gently sat down beside her, thinking about what has been happening to me. I became too soft with those brothers, and they think that they have the right to do whatever they want with me.

Or is it because I really want to forgive them, seeing that they have changed a little bit? Was this everything I worked for? I tried to get their attention so much in my previous life, but what did I end up with? I don't think I need their attention in any way.

“What's going on in your head?” Gina asked me.

I almost jumped because I didn't realize she was awake, and she smiled at me.

“When did you wake up and why didn't you say anything?" I asked her back.

“I just said something, didn't I? You didn't give me an answer though,” she replied to me.

I sighed. “Those idiots are at it again. They are really bothering me all the time. Do you think I have to be grateful to them just because they saved me? After all, they all owe so much.”

She shook her head. “I think you don't have to be grateful to them all the time, but it's your choice if you want to appreciate them for saving your life. Even if they owe you, they could have chosen not to do anything again in this life.”

I looked at her in disbelief. She doesn't like them, yet she's sounding like she's defending them against me.

“Since when did you all become close that you're defending them now? Or do you think I'm the one who's wrong here?” I asked her.

She immediately shook her head in a panic. “That's not what I mean. I promise you I'm just saying they could have abandoned you, but they still chose to help you, which means they are probably trying to ease their guilt. I didn't mean to sound like that.”

I could see she felt bad for what she said, and I didn't want to scare her anymore, so I just smiled at her.

“Don't worry. I'm just playing around with you. I'm not mad at you.”

She heaved a sigh of relief. “Thank you. I thought you were really getting mad. I didn't defend them and I will never defend what they have done to you. I mean, everyone else would change after experiencing enough time, but they continue to be idiots. Don't you think it's a little bit too late for them to try adjusting now?”

She also thinks the same way I do, but I don't understand why my heart keeps thinking differently now. Why am I faltering when I already decided I wouldn't forgive them? Should I forget all my suffering and death just like that? If I don't let go of my previous life, I will continue living in the past. But I haven't gotten the justice I deserve, so I can never forget my previous life which brought me to this next one where I finally have a brain.

“What do you think I should do? They have become so shameless that they don't even think about their reputation anymore.”

She sighed too. “I think you should just try to see what they are going to do for you. Your happiness is the priority, and I don't care if they have to die to show that to you.”

I should just listen to my head. I'm not listening to my heart because what I think is more important than what I feel right now. There's no chance to feel anything when my life is constantly in danger because of them.

Agatha's doing this because of them, right? So saving me shouldn't be a problem if they had let me go before like I asked them to. Maybe this wouldn't have happened at all. I wouldn't be continuously targeted by her.

They don't even know the kind of person they live with, and they used to think she's an angel. Now that the same her true colors, they are running back to me and acting as if I'm that important to them.

Why should I believe in any of their nonsense anymore? I'm not the one to compromise for anyone or anything in the world in this life. The only person that's ever important to me is myself. I'm only going to care about myself before I think about others.

I stayed with Gina in the hospital till morning and I woke up deciding to go home to change before coming back to check on her in the hospital. I was about to leave when I remembered that Dante also got hurt yesterday. I don't know if the rest went home or if they stayed with their brothers since they have nothing better to do these days than to follow me around.

I went slowly to Dante's room and I could see that he was still asleep. I could also see Knox in the room with him, so I didn't bother going inside. There's no need to tell them about where I'm going when I can go by myself.

I went outside the hospital hoping to catch a cab home. I didn't expect a car to stop in front of me. How the hell does he even appear when I clearly left without telling anyone?

“Come on in. I know you're on your way home. I don't understand why you couldn't tell us so we could pick you up,” he said to me.

I sneered. “I don't think I asked for your help and you don't have to sound so rude.”

“That's definitely not what I'm trying to do. Why are you always being so—”

“So what? Just say it. I'm being unreasonable, isn't it?” I snarled at him.

He sighed. “Let's just go home, Autumn. It's dangerous for you to be on the way like this, especially when you are being targeted left and right. Don't you think you should think for yourself?”

I stared at him for a moment before entering the car. I mean, he's not completely wrong. He's saying this for my own good even if I'm mad at him. I should think about myself first, so that's what I did.
