Chapter 45 PUNCH

Chapter 45 PUNCH
“Blake,” Ixora muttered as she ran and wrapped her hand tightly around his waist.
“Ouch,” Blake winced.
Ixora loosened her grip. “Sorry.” She sniffled on his chest.
“I...didn’t mean for any of this to happen. I’m so sorry for putting you in this condition,” she mumbled.
“It’s okay. I know you can never hurt me on purpose.” He rubbed her hair softly.
Nelly had a smile on her face as she watched while Audrey wouldn’t stop rolling her eyes at every second she got.
Skye arrived at the station.
“Does it hurt?” she mumbled, trying to locate the injury.
“Not that much.”
“Love,” Georgia called.
Ixora broke the hug and hugged her mother.
“Mom, I’m fine,” she muttered.
“You have to. You are my daughter after all,” Georgia said, pulling her out of the hug and showering kisses on her face.
Ixora giggled softly.
“If you are all done, Blake, you have to sign here,” Williams said and opened the documents.
Blake walked near the table to sign it.
“Xora, why would you even think of stabbing Blake? I thought you both went to the cinema. What were you even doing with a knife in the first place?” Georgia asked.
Ixora folded her fist. “It was because of Drexton,” she muttered.
Blake faced her.
“Drexton? Who’s that?” Blake asked, going towards her.
Ixora turned to Williams.
“Drexton was the one behind it.”
“You once accused Drexton of being among the Hell Devils, and now you are saying he stabbed Blake,” William said, his tone rising.
“I never said he stabbed him, and I’m not trying to deny it either. All I’m saying is that Drexton made me do it.”
“Ma’am, you had better take your daughter out of here, else I will lock her back up,” William said in a dismissive tone.
“Why can’t you just believe me?!” Ixora yelled, slamming her palm on the table. “Drexton is not who you think he is. He torments me and says he’d ruin me. I carried the knife to protect myself. This is all Drexton’s doing!” she yelled at Williams’ face.
“Ixora,” Nelly rushed to her and tried taking her away, together with Georgia.
“Leave me!” She jerked her body away. “Drexton promised to make my life a living nightmare, and he is doing it. He has done so many things to break me. You just have to believe me!” she yelled again, as if yelling would make Williams believe her.
“If you don’t take your display of madness out of this station, I will call the mental hospital,” Williams threatened, standing up.
He picked up the phone.
“Don’t, we will leave now,” Blake said, going to Ixora.
He began taking her out.
“I am not lying. Drexton is not who you think he is. He is a devil!” she kept yelling until Blake took her out of the station.
“Ixora, calm down,” Blake muttered, and she stayed still, her chest rising and falling.
“Aunt, you, Nelly and Audrey should go. I will bring back Xora,” Blake said.
Georgia nodded, her face drowned with a worried look as she entered her car.
“Take care.” Nelly got into her car.
Audrey shot Skye a glare before getting into her car. Without waiting for Skye, she drove off.
Skye looked at Blake and Ixora. “I will take the taxi,” he said and flagged down a taxi.
He went after Audrey’s car.
“Come on,” Blake led Ixora to his car.
He got into the car and drove a few distances away from the station before stepping on the brakes.
He shifted his gaze to Ixora. She was playing with her nails while looking so lost in thought.
He had always known something was bothering her. He had tried asking her countless times, but she always denied it. So, was Drexton the one troubling her? Was he also the same man who had hugged her at the bridge?
He had tried finding out about the scent, but found nothing.
If Drexton was the one troubling her, then he’d regret ever messing with what’s his.
“I believe you,” he said, drifting Ixora out of her thoughts.
“You do?” she muttered, turning to him.
Blake nodded. “You’d never hurt somebody on purpose. I’m sure of it.” He gave her a warm smile.
“Thanks.” She smiled back.
“It’s nothing.” He paused, then spoke up. “Who is Drexton?”

\[BLACKTHORN AUTOMOBILE\]
The workers’ murmuring stopped when Drexton climbed down the stairs with Jaxon in the middle and Maddox next to Jaxon. They had come to his office because they had something important to discuss, and they were all going to their hideout.
Ixora’s release was all over the news, and they had seen it as well. Drexton had his suit hung in his hand, his face as stoic as ever.
Jaxon’s hand was tucked in his pocket while he pressed his phone with his other hand. Maddox had both his hands tucked in their pockets.
They got to the entrance of the door when they saw Blake storming in.
“Hold on, Blake,” Ixora said, while trying to catch up with him.
His face was red with anger, and his fingers were tightened into a fist.
Drexton, Maddox and Jaxon stopped, looking at them with Jaxon pocketing his phone. The workers also had their attention turned to them.
Blake got to them and stood in front of Drexton, glaring at him.
He was tall, almost the same height as Drexton, but the difference was still clear.
“How dare you?” He muttered through clenched teeth.
He raised his folded fist and punched Drexton hard right in the jaw.
Drexton’s face turned to the other side.
Ixora gasped, covering her mouth with her palm.
The employees also gasped.
Jaxon made to move, but Maddox held his hand, stopping him.
Slowly, Drexton raised his head, his eyes meeting Blake’s own.
“What gave you the right to mess with Ixora? I don’t know what you have against Ixora and I don’t care either. This is just a warning, stay away from Ixora,” Blake warned, his eyes blazing red.
Ixora still had her mouth covered as she wondered what Drexton would do. She had known Drexton long enough to know that he wouldn’t let it slide.
She would never try to stop Blake. He deserved it.
The employees also stood, waiting for what he’d do.
Blake was glaring at Drexton. Drexton was looking at Blake with an eye one couldn’t read. No one knew what was going on in his mind.
Ixora took her hands from her mouth, shifting her gaze to Jaxon and Maddox.
They also had the same expression as Drexton.
What were they thinking?
Without a single word, Drexton walked away. Jaxon and Maddox followed, neither of them sparing her a glance.
Blake took hold of Ixora’s hand.
“Let’s leave,” he said, and they walked away.
“What just happened?”
“Two guys are fighting for Ixora.”
“Heard Blake denied the charges, and she got released.”
“I hate her type of girl.”
“I believe you should all get back to work,” Kian said, and immediately they focused on their work.

\[HELL DEVILS’ HIDEOUT\]
Drexton came downstairs and met Jaxon on the laptop, and Maddox was on his phone.
“Anything?” Drexton asked, settling beside Jaxon.
“He’s the famous Blake,” Jaxon replied.
Drexton took a peek at the laptop
“Pet called her savior to fight for her,” Jaxon muttered, his fingers typing hard on the keyboard.
More and more information about Blake kept popping up.
“There is no other family background aside from his sister Audrey,” Jaxon said.
“He’s an orphan?” Maddox asked, staring at a picture on his phone.
Nelly.
He was trying to dig into her private life, but found no relevant details about her.
The only thing he saw was a single picture of her on her social media handle. The actions she displayed when he splashed muddy water on her and when they asked her to leave were weird.
And she walked into their hideout and spoke to them with confidence. This is something he couldn’t ignore easily.
Maddox kept his phone on the table and shifted his gaze to the screen that displayed Blake’s picture.
“His face looks familiar,” he said.
“I thought so too,” Jaxon added, zooming in on his picture.
“Like—”
