Chapter 44 OLDIE

Chapter 44 OLDIE
\[CAIUS HOUSE\]

"I don't care. You have to find a way to kill her," Lorraine said over the phone.

The person replied.

"Good. No mistakes. I want a clean job—"

"What clean job?" Caius asked.

Lorraine froze before speaking up.

"Yes. Make sure all the files are neatly arranged. Like I said before, I want a clean job," she said and hung up.

She turned to Caius, who was looking at her with those suspicious eyes.

She raised her phone in the air. "Office job. I was on the phone with my secretary," Lorraine said, lying through her teeth.

"You sure? Secretary by this time of the night," Caius said, not convinced by her story.

Lorraine put down her phone while puckering her lips. She went to him and hugged him.

"We work at any time of the day," she whispered, pressing her lips to his ear.

She frowned and broke the hug.

Caius noticed her expression. "Love, what happened?" he asked.

"Can't believe you were doubting me. You don't trust me," she complained.

Caius made her face him.

"I won't doubt you again. I promise," he muttered, pecking her lips.

Lorraine smiled and hugged him.

"Don't doubt me again. It can ruin a relationship," she said, and broke the hug.

"Why don't you go to our room? I'll join you soon."

"Waiting," Caius said, and started heading upstairs.

Lorraine's eyes turned dark as she fixed her gaze on his retreating figure.

"You are now a pain in the neck," she muttered.

"I feel sorry for Dad," Bonnie said, coming in.

Lorraine turned to her.

"And where are you coming from?" Lorraine asked.

"As if you care," Bonnie retorted.

"I care. I am your mother."

"Tell that to someone who's too blind to see that you have a thing for a person you should see as your son," Bonnie snapped.

Lorraine stared at her daughter, speechless, slowly folding her fist.

"You can't fool me, Lorraine. I see it in your eyes. But Drexton will never accept an oldie like you," Bonnie said in a menacing tone.

She shot her mother one last glare before going to her room.

Lorraine stood in her spot, feeling defeated.

The oldie kept ringing in her head. She had done so many things to make herself look young and promising. She even destroyed her womb just to look young, and her daughter had the guts to call her an oldie.

She went to her private room and stripped herself of her clothes.

She took her phone and snapped her naked body, excluding her face. She sat on the bed and began admiring her body.

"I am the sexiest woman alive," she laughed scornfully, staring at the nude picture.

She thought of something and smiled at the thought.

She opened her drawer and brought out a phone she doesn't use.

She sent the picture to the phone, and also Drexton's number.

"No man can ever resist my body," she smiled and clicked send.

\[DREXTON'S HOUSE\]

He was sitting on the couch. Drew sat beside him, his fingers stroking its soft fur.

His eyes were closed while his mind circled around Ixora.

Drew would growl occasionally when Drexton's stroke increased, hurting the wolf.

A text notification popped up on his phone.

Drew immediately fetched the phone with his mouth. Drexton opened his palm, and Drew carefully placed the phone.

His eyes remained point-blank as he stared at the nude picture. He wasn't moved by the picture. Lorraine is the skinny type. He wanted to delete the picture, but stopped and began typing.

Smooth skin, curved hips, round butt, thick thighs, full breasts and a nice belly button. Not close to these.

He clicked send, deleted the picture and stood on his feet.

He messaged the guys, glanced at Drew, who went to his house.

He left the house.

\[HOSPITAL\]

Skye was beside Blake in his ward when Blake's eyes slowly flickered open.

"Blake," Skye sat up, his tone drowning in happiness.

Blake lay still, his eyes adjusting to the translucent lights in the ward.

He shifted his gaze to Skye and smiled. He wanted to sit up when memories of the incident flooded his head.

He was at the cinema with Ixora. They were about to kiss when the lights went off. A seek me note appearing on the movie screen. He touched Ixora's shoulder, and she stabbed him while screaming 'Go to hell'.

He groaned and sat up with great difficulty. Skye helped him.

"Are you okay?"

"Where is Ixora?" Blake asked instead.

"You are just waking up after being unconscious for a whole day. You need rest," Skye replied.

"Just answer the darn question!" Blake snapped.

He winced and held his stomach.

"Don't yell at me. She's where people who attempt murder stay," Skye replied.

"What? Behind bars?"

Skye nodded.

"I... I have to go to her," Blake said, and began removing the wires connected to his hand.

"Blake, what are you doing?" Skye asked, trying to stop me.

"Let me go. I have to see Ixora!"

"What has gotten over you? She tried to kill you!" Skye yelled.

Blake ignored him and finished removing the wires.

"W... Which hospital?" Blake asked, his voice rising with urgency.

"I'm sorry, but I can't tell you," Skye said.

Blake looked around and saw surgical scissors in the drawer.

He took it and pointed it at his neck.

"Have you gone mad!" Skye yelled.

"Start talking or watch me kill myself," Blake threatened, pressing the sharp edge of the scissors hard against his neck.

"Put that down!"

"The station!" his blood trickled out, rubbing on the scissors.

"U... U.C. police station," Skye said, breathless.

Blake threw the scissors on the ground and staggered out of the ward.

Skye rushed after him.

\[U.C. POLICE STATION\]

"Inspector, release my daughter right now," Georgia said in a threatening tone.

Even the commissioner couldn't help and that was because Blake's crazy fans were protesting hard.

Mr. Miller's contacts didn't help either. Georgia's bad record in politics was hindering her from using her power.

"At this rate, you should go and look for a good lawyer. Her fingerprints were found on the knife. The court hearing is tomorrow," Williams said, adjusting his glasses above his nose.

Georgia snapped her head at Audrey. "Mark my words, if anything happens to my daughter, I will not only ruin you, but your brother."

Audrey rolled her eyes before turning to Williams.

"If you need my help with anything, don't hesitate to let me know."

"Did you think of Blake when doing this? I'm sure Blake wouldn't want Ixora to be in this state. You are not only hurting Ixora but also Blake. Think of it, Audrey," Nelly said, trying to reason with her.

"She tried to remove my brother from the surface of this earth, and you want me to withdraw the charges. She is—"

"Innocent."

A voice said from the entrance. They all turned their attention to the door and saw Blake limping in.

"Blake," Audrey called and rushed to hug him. "You are back to us," she muttered.

"Hold on," he broke the hug and went to Williams' table.

"I would like to withdraw all the charges placed against Ixora. She isn't the one who stabbed me," Blake said.

"What are you doing? Do you realize she attempted to take your life?" William asked, standing up.

"It is my life. Withdraw all the charges."

Williams sat back. "Well, I'm sorry. Your sister has already filed an FIR. The case has been handed over to the court."

Blake glanced at Audrey, who looked away.

"Has it been submitted to the court?"

Williams nodded negatively and brought out the paper.

"Let me see."

Blake collected it and shredded it into pieces.

"What have you just done?" Williams asked, staring at him with wide eyes.

"There is no case, release her," Blake said, insisting on his words.

Williams exhaled softly and called one of the constables who was on standby.

"Go and get Ixora Castellan."
