Chapter 133 THE MASTER REGRETS

Chapter 133 THE MASTER REGRETS

\[HAZEL'S HOUSE\]

Hazel's heart rimmed against her ribcage as she awaited Drexton's arrival. She was on her way to dispose of the body when she received the threatening text. With no second thought, she hurried to her house. She has to do it if she wants to keep her secret safe. She can't risk Drexton exposing it to the world.

Her finger trembled around the knife behind her back, and her eyes remained glued to the door since she switched off the lights. She's going to repeat her history. She's going to do what Nikita failed to do. She's going to kill Drexton the moment he walks in.

Her mother died when she tried to threaten her, and the same is going to happen to Drexton. No one dares to threaten her.

She tightened her grip around the knife while trying to calm her past beating heart.

How would she accomplish it if she's scared like this?

The door pushed open and slammed against the wall.

Slowly, she brought the knife to her front while waiting for the person to walk in.

The person took slow steps.

Hazel dashed off on her heels and pointed the knife towards the person.

On reaching the person, she aimed for the person's chest.

"Die Drexton Blackthorn!" She went for the chest.

The person held her hand in a tight grip, forcing the knife to slip on the floor with a clattering sound.

Pulling her close, the person elbowed her.

Hazel fell, feeling the pain in her chin.

"Pathetic," the person hissed.

Hazel's eyes widened as she realized the person was not Drexton, but a female.

They switched on the light.

Two people were in front of her, wearing the same clothes.

"W-Who are you?" Hazel asked.

"You know what's saddening? It's like knowing you have a twin sister, but she doesn't recognize her sister," Ixora said, and at the same time, she and Eric took off their glasses.

Hazel's eyes hovered from Ixora to Eric, and back to Ixora, but this time with colors draining from her face.

"I...Xora," Hazel stuttered.

"Ixora," Ixora corrected. "You should learn to pronounce your name damn well."

"No," Hazel shook her head. "I received a text from Drexton. Drexton was the one who asked me to come here, not you."

"Wrong." She took out Drexton's phone from her pants. "His cell phone was the thing that asked you to come here, not Drexton's himself." She kept the phone on the table.

"This isn't right. You are under Nikita's hypnotism. I'm sure she must have killed you, and you are a moving ghost," Hazel said, breathing heavily.

Ixora laughed out loud, but it was only for a few seconds before it died down.

"What do I expect from someone who killed their mother?" She stalked towards her. "Is Eric also a ghost?" she whispered, giving Hazel a taunting smirk.

Hazel's eyes shifted to Eric's face, and her eyes bulged harder.

Unlike Ixora, who was switching expression between a smirk and a smile, he had a smile plastered on his lips, but the smile was far from welcoming.

She gulped, facing Ixora.

No matter what, she wouldn't allow Ixora to defeat her. She defeated her once, not again.

"You figured out you couldn't fight me on your own, so you went and bribed a billionaire to back you up. You are still the coward you used to be," Hazel said, eyes flashing with fear, no matter how she tried to hide it.

Ixora clapped her hands. "She's so smart. Come on, Dad, join me."

Eric smiled at his daughter, enjoying the show.

"D-Dad. Your father is a Smith Castellan, a human trafficker. You can't fool me! We were friends, and I knew everything about you," Hazel said.

"Glad you still remember, but I give my explanation to people that it's worth it, and Hazel Bretford doesn't top that list."

"Wait until Nikita finds out that you've been fooling her all along; she's going to make sure she ruins you. You know what an acid is, right? She's going to cut your body into tiny pieces and pour acid on it," Hazel said desperately. Anything to get away from the situation.

"Too dumb," Ixora flipped her head backward and held Hazel's chin, forcing their eyes to meet. "I've always been ahead of Nikita," she whispered in a low, dangerous tone.

"I was never hypnotized. I've been plotting from the first day I knew about your plans. Ricky found out, and I got him to switch sides. Dad and Dr Felix are close. Unlike some people, he doesn't betray his friends." Ixora glared at her before sitting on the nearby couch.

She kept her legs on the table and crossed them. Her eyes caught a bowl of chips on the table.

"Wow, an evening snack." She picked up the bowl and took the first chip.

Casting a cold look at Hazel, she threw the chip into her mouth.

Hazel gulped hard while staring at her. The way she chewed the chip as if it had signed its death warrant. She masticated it slowly, making sure to chew properly before swallowing.

Hazel faced in front, and her eyes caught the knife on the floor.

Quickly, she crawled to the knife and picked it up, aiming for Eric's knee.

Eric stepped away, and she fell, the knife slipping farther away.

He grabbed her hand and twisted it. "If I were you, pleading for mercy would be my top priority. I haven't said a thing because it's between you and my daughter. You are hers to handle." He released her hand, and she gripped the place he held, panting.

"I'm full," Ixora said, and stood up.

Hazel was quick to notice the difference in her expression. She's not smiling again. She looks cold and dangerous.

She gasped when she saw Ixora in front of her.

"Time for business," Ixora muttered in a venomous tone.

Hazel tried to speak, but Ixora took that away by landing a blinding slap on her cheek.

"When it comes to a puppet and its master..." Slap.

"The puppet is meant to obey the master..." Slap.

"But when the puppet is in control..." Slap.

"The master regrets." Slap.

By the time she was done, Hazel's face was red, her finger designing the face like a fingerprint party.

Heavy tears rolled down her cheeks.

To Ixora, tears are for babies. She should be shedding blood, not something as low as tears.

She raised her boot and pushed Hazel's head.

Hazel lay on the floor trying to recover from the stinging slaps.

Ixora raised her legs and carefully placed them between her breasts.

"Argh!" Hazel cried out.

"You've always been a bad single," Ixora said scornfully, adding pressure to the boot.

The sole of the boot wasn't the regular one. It had a pointy sole like needles.

Ixora watched her with near satisfaction in her dark eyes.

The door burst open, and they rushed in.

Drexton, Maddox, Jaxon, Nelly and Alexa.

Their eyes quickly found Ixora.

One on the floor, looking so pathetic, and the other, whose head was tilted to the left, long hair flowing with the wind, looking like an assassin who's carrying out a successful task.

Ixora's eyes traveled to them, and she smirked.

"More people just joined the party. Sit down and enjoy." She removed her leg and bent to Hazel's height.

Grabbing a side of Hazel's head, she lifted her head and slammed it loudly on the floor.

Hazel's eyes rolled back and forth as she saw death itself. She gasped for breath before closing her eyes.

Drexton moved back until he reached the door, and quietly, he walked away.

Alexa and Nelly's eyes remained on Ixora, utterly shocked.

Jaxon and Maddox had the same expression on their faces until they noticed Drexton's absence.

They left in search of him.

Ixora stood and clapped her hands as if removing the dirt by touching Hazel.

She turned to them. "How was it?"

"Ixora," Nelly whispered tearfully, using her palm to cover her mouth.

\[CASTELLAN'S HOUSE\]

The house was in a mess as every single thing had been scattered around. The television, couch, dining table, and other relevant things.

Nikita fumed, breathing hard as she glared at the watch in her hand. It's crystal clear to her now. All the while she thought she was in control, had both Ixora, Hazel and Drexton wrapped around her finger. Little did she know that she had been the fool all along.

Dr Felix has been lying to her face, and she's been fooled by Ixora. She saw the signs when her plans kept backfiring. She shouldn't have ignored it. She should have studied more deeply, and then she would have figured it out.

Coming back home to meet the dead body in the house, she needed something to vent out, so she took the body and set it on fire.

It's alarming that Hazel hasn't returned, and her phone was unreachable. Ixora might have gotten her.

She thought she was the puppet master, but in her game, she's the puppet, which she refuses to be.

She threw the watch on the wall, and it smashed into pieces.

"All my hard work won't go to waste," she murmured and walked to where the watch fell.

She crouched down on one knee and picked up the broken clock.

Her eyes locked on the time.

"Loyalty, betrayal, and blood. I'm in for the three of them," she said in a venomous tone, with her eyes darker than hell.
