Chapter 134 HE'S SO HOT
"I missed you, too," Dr. Felix said through the background.
He was on a video call with his wife.
"If you did miss us, you'd be back by now," the wife said, rolling her eyes dramatically.
Dr. Felix chuckled. "You shouldn't roll your eyes. Okay. Fine. I will be back this weekend."
The wife's face lit up. "Are you serious?"
Dr Felix nodded. "I'm missing my princess. Where is she? I don't see her around."
"Hold on, let me call her," the wife said.
A few seconds later, a little girl about seven years old appeared on the screen.
"Hello, Dad," she waved, showing off her gummy set of teeth.
"My angel. How are you?"
"Not fine, Dad."
"What happened?" Dr Felix asked.
"You haven't visited Mum and me for months. Do you know how much we miss you? If you are tired of us, let us know. I can give my mummy the permission to marry that nice uncle..."
"Which nice uncle?" Dr. Felix asked, looking at his wife.
"I'm only kidding," the child said and turned her back to the screen.
Dr. Felix exchanged glances with his wife before focusing his eyes on his daughter.
"Princess, guess what?" he asked softly.
"I don't want to guess," she said, shaking her head stubbornly.
"Daddy is coming home next weekend," he whispered.
She quickly faced him, eyes lighting up. "Are you serious?"
"Have I ever lied to you?"
"Yayyy," she stood on her feet and jumped around before sitting down.
"Does that mean you'll attend my school's talent exhibition?"
Dr. Felix nodded, eyes glistening as he stared at his happy daughter.
He misses them also, but gets caught up in Eric's with Nikita's issue.
"You are the best dad. I love you SO much," she said, making sure to stretch the 'So'.
"Daddy loves you, too."
She blew him a peck, arms spread as she waved at him.
"Bye, daddy. I have to go to my friend's house." She ran off without waiting to hear anything.
Dr. Felix chuckled, meeting his wife's eyes.
"I love you," he mouthed.
Heat crept up her cheeks as she replied. "Love you more."
The call ended, and he exhaled softly.
Tossing his phone aside, he stood and left the room.
As he descended the stairs, he could feel the excitement bubbling in his chest.
Suddenly, he stopped, eyes catching a person on his couch.
"Who are you?" he asked, continuing his steps in a slow rhythm.
The person was dressed in all black, and she had her back to him. He could guess she was a lady because of the hair that fell on her shoulders.
The thought of someone coming to his house to annihilate him made fear grip him.
Slowly, the person turned, smiling menacingly at him.
He could have fallen if not for his grip on the rail.
"Nikita," he called, standing properly.
"Surprised to see me?" she asked, crossing over to his side.
"What are you doing here? How did you even get in?" he asked.
She tilted her head to the side, took out a cigarette and a lighter. Snapping the lighter, she lit the cigarette.
Dr. Felix coughed, using his hand to fan the air.
Two drags, she put out the cigarette.
"You fooled Nikita," she smirked.
"W-What are you talking about?" he stuttered, trying to mask his fear.
Nikita laughed and flipped her hair to her back. "Come on, Felix. Where are you scared? We are friends. Relax. Hmm," she gave him a fake, reassuring smile.
Sliding her hands in her pants, she took out the fake hypnotism watch.
"You fooled Nikita," she said, eyes fixed on the watch, studying it as if she could snap out the life if it had one. "You deserve an accolade. Clap for yourself."
"You are wrong. You wanted to mess with somebody's mind. I couldn't do that. Besides, you figured it out late. Eric and Ixora are way ahead of you already. They have plotted your doom," Dr. Felix said.
She glared at the watch, curling it in a tight hold. The watch broke, causing Dr. Felix to jerk.
She threw and cast a cold look at him. "They have plotted my doom, but I have plotted your own doom," she muttered venomously.
Dr. Felix's eyes widened madly when she drew out a gun and pointed it at his chest, finger curled around the trigger.
"N-Nikita, you can't do this. Let's talk this out..." he stuttered, hearing the thud of his fast beating heart.
"Talk?" she chuckled devilishly. "We will when we meet in hell."
She pulled the trigger.
It went straight into his chest.
Dr. Felix's blood splashed on her face as he landed on the floor with a loud thud.
Nikita's eyes were devoid of emotion as she brought the gun down.
She locked her gaze on Dr. Felix's lifeless body.
"Goodbye." She took out a white handkerchief and wrapped it around the gun.
Done, she kept the gun in Dr. Felix's hand.
Tying the handkerchief in her mouth, she took the telephone.
"Inspector, a murder just took place."
\[HAZEL'S HOUSE\]
"And that's the story of my life eighteen months ago," Ixora concluded with a soft sigh, her eyes meeting Nelly's teary face.
"You should be happy, not crying," Ixora said, wrapping her arms around Nelly.
Nelly lowered her head, sniffling on her shoulder.
"Gosh, I didn't know gangsters are crybabies."
Nelly slowly broke the hug. "You know? H-How did you find out?" She choked on her sobs.
"I did my findings. You suddenly left Sicily, and I was worried about you," Ixora said truthfully.
"I miss you, Ixora. There isn't a single day that has passed without me blaming myself for your sudden disappearance. If I don't leave like that, you'll..."
"Let's leave it behind us. It's all in the past now."
Nelly nodded, shifting to the side.
Ixora faced Alexa. "Baby sis," she said, and they shared a warm embrace.
Alexa sniffled on her shoulder.
"Are you going to cry like Nelly now?"
Alexa quickly shook her head and wiped off her tears. "I won't. Ex-convicts don't cry."
"That's more like it."
"How did you know I'm your sister?" Alexa asked.
"I was present when you mistook Hazel for me and got all emotional," Ixora explained.
"Winter?"
Ixora nodded, smiling mischievously.
Alexa's hand flew to her mouth. "OMG! You've been in our lives all this time. I should have known. Which means Drexton has been right all along. You know he told us he felt your presence, and you were the one who..." She pressed her lips together when she realized what she was saying.
Eric cleared his throat, interrupting them. "Since you're all so caught up in your chit-chat, I will be leaving. I have an important call."
"Call me if you need my help," Ixora said.
Eric nodded and gave the girls a charming smile before leaving.
"My heart," Alexa said and fell dramatically on the couch, pretending to faint.
Her eyes flew open, and she sat up. "I think I've fallen in love. Ixora, your dad is my dream man. He's so..."
"You are into older men?" Nelly asked.
"I guess Ixora's father has made me one. He's so hot," Alexa said dreamily.
Ixora grabbed her ear and twitched it.
"Ouch! Ixora, it hurts!" Alexa wailed in pain.
"So, you're crushing on your dad?"
"Fine, I won't do it again. I promise!"
Ixora released her ear, taking her eyes off dramatic Alexa.
"What do you plan on doing with her?" Nelly asked.
Ixora's gaze landed on unconscious Hazel, and her lips stretched into a meaningful smirk.
