Chapter 426
Chapter 426
"Of course, it's what you all want."
Chris chuckled and threw out a random question, "Mr. Windsor, ever had a pet? Like a kitten or a puppy, something tiny that fits in your hand, soft and easy to... accidentally kill."
Despite the cute imagery, Chris's words made Simon uneasy.
Simon frowned but stayed silent.
Chris didn't seem to expect an answer. He looked at Simon and smirked, "Those little things are adorable, but I only like the obedient ones. If they don't behave, it's best to deal with them early."
Meeting Chris's gaze, Simon suddenly had a realization.
Damn, this psycho. The "little animals" he's talking about must be the Sons of God.
Chris laughed, confirming Simon's thoughts, "Yep, the Sons of God."
When the Sons of God were on the brink of collapse, it was Chris who took over and built it to its current scale.
But he hadn't expected that many in the organization would be so ungrateful, waiting to kick him out and take his place.
Thinking of this, Chris sneered.
Even a pet dog knows to wag its tail at the person who feeds it. He saved the organization, only to raise a bunch of backstabbers.
In that case, he'd rather not have it at all.
The two men at the negotiation table locked eyes, a moment of intense confrontation.
Simon chuckled, "Since Mr. Sinclair is so sincere about this cooperation, we won't let you down."
They needed to deal with the Sons of God anyway. If they could use Chris's help, all the better.
After all, who knew the organization's weaknesses better than its founder?
...
"Did you really decide to work with him? Aren't you afraid he'll set a trap for you?"
Hearing this, Simon looked at Damian in surprise, "Your vocabulary has improved."
Damian raised an eyebrow proudly, "Of course..."
Before he could finish his smug expression, he poked Simon twice, "I'm serious. Don't change the subject."
Simon spread his hands helplessly, "I'm not an idiot. Of course, I have a plan."
"So, what's your plan?"
"Simple, two plans. Just like you said, set a trap for him."
Chris wasn't the only one with brains.
Simon had plenty of plans too.
With Chris's involvement, the operation against the Sons of God suddenly became much easier.
Considering the Sons of God were still their official employer, their actions were discreet but efficient.
A few days later, the overseas market, monopolized by the Sons of God, began to show significant gaps.
In a short time, the areas once controlled by the Sons of God were either taken over or emptied out, the process so swift it left no time to react.
Only a few insiders managed to respond, even Leroy, far away at home, had to work overtime online for several days.
The rapid downfall of the Sons of God was astonishing.
In a dark mansion, Dexter sat on the couch with a grim expression.
Today was the day the last shares of the Sons of God were to be dealt with. Dexter was waiting for that Windsor brat to show up.
Soon, the roar of a motorcycle shattered the eerie silence of the old house, making Dexter's eyebrows twitch.
Simon, in a good mood, wasn't wearing a formal suit but a black leather jacket.
The jacket highlighted his striking features, adding a touch of arrogance and defiance compared to Lewis's sharpness.
And he had the confidence to back it up.
"You've got guts, coming here alone. Aren't you afraid I'll take the chance to kill you?"
Simon laughed, "Who said I came alone?"
He stepped aside, revealing the person behind him.
It was none other than Chris, who had been missing from the Sons of God for a while.
Seeing Chris, Dexter suddenly understood why the Windsor Group had been so precise in targeting the Sons of God's weak points. They had an insider guiding them.
Dexter sneered, "Chris, you're ruthless, turning on your own organization."
Chris smiled politely, "Mr. Stewart, it's not ruthlessness. I just don't like backstabbers."
Though he didn't name names, it was clear who he was referring to.
Dexter's face turned red with anger, nearly choking himself.
Simon watched with interest, then knocked on the table, "Let's sign the papers first. You can chat afterward."
He was in a hurry to catch a flight home and didn't have time for their bickering.
Dexter exhaled slowly and forced a smile, "What's the rush?"
His smile was so fake that even his muscles didn't cooperate, making his face look grotesque.
Simon squinted, feeling a sense of foreboding.
This old bastard had something up his sleeve.
As if to confirm his suspicion, a heavy thud came from the front door, which had been shut.
Simon thought about the hundred-pound solid wood door and sighed.
They wouldn't be leaving that way. He'd have to find another exit.
He kept his composure, "What's this? Planning a heart-to-heart?"
Dexter turned sharply, his eyes filled with venom, "Simon, why does your family keep coming after us? Since that's the case, I won't leave you any way out."
Red laser dots appeared without warning. Simon cursed and moved in sync with the loud noise, flipping the heavy mahogany couch to shield himself and pulling Chris in as well.
He didn't want to save Chris, but he had to. There were still things he needed to find out from him. Chris couldn't die yet.
Simon flexed his arm, sore from the sudden exertion, and asked, "Do you know any basic combat skills?"
Chris smiled without answering.
Silence spoke volumes. Simon understood that Chris knew nothing.
Another round of loud noises erupted. Seeing the marks on the mahogany, Simon found an opening and quickly rolled out.
Years of experience and combat training allowed him to assess the situation instantly.
Damn, the old bastard wasn't afraid to die. He wanted to take Simon down with him!
