Chapter 427
Simon moved quickly, snatching the item from the other man's hand and pressing it against Dexter's forehead in an instant.
The searing heat of the gun barrel against his skin made Dexter shudder uncontrollably.
He stared blankly for a couple of seconds, then his eyes widened in realization.
The surrounding men in black hesitated, wary of their employer now in Simon's grasp, and didn't dare make a move.
Simon smirked, "Mr. Stewart, you really didn't do your homework when you were looking into me."
If he had, he wouldn't have tried to handle Simon this way.
Perhaps reminded by Simon's words, Dexter stared at him for a moment before suddenly speaking, "You're the young man who follows Easton around. You're L."
"That's right," Simon said, effortlessly pulling the old man off the couch and signaling Chris to head upstairs. "For the sake of your life, I suggest you cooperate with me."
"You think I care?"
When he planned this meeting, he never intended to make it out alive!
Simon showed no surprise, as if he had anticipated Dexter's response. He even had the time to nod and give a half-hearted compliment, "How brave of you."
Dexter fell silent.
Words usually meant to praise now carried a strange, humiliating undertone.
His expression changed, and just as he was about to angrily order his men to advance, Simon spoke again, slowly.
"You may not fear death, but does your one-year-old grandson deserve to die too?"
The unspoken command froze on Dexter's lips, and his eyes widened in shock.
Simon leaned in close, whispering like a devil, "Your family is in my hands. If I don't make it back, they all die."
Dexter's face turned red with rage, and he shouted, "You despicable bastard!"
Simon remained silent.
Why did that sound like an insult from a soap opera?
An image of Becky’s favorite soap opera flashed through his mind, but he quickly refocused.
"Save your strength."
As he finished speaking, a loud explosion sounded outside the window.
Simon raised an eyebrow and smiled, "Let's go, time for a leap of faith."
The second floor wasn't too high, but it wasn't low either. Carrying someone made it even trickier.
He couldn't carry the old man on his back, so after a moment of hesitation, Simon locked eyes with someone outside the window.
Damian's anxious face changed upon seeing Dexter.
Damn it, what is Simon planning?
The next moment, a piercing scream tore through the air.
Yes, Dexter was thrown out the window like a rag doll.
Simon grabbed Chris and followed suit.
The chaos behind them was deafening, barely missing Simon.
"Get in the car!"
A black armored vehicle roared to life, taking them away.
As for Dexter, he was discarded, his fate irrelevant.
Chris turned to look at the massive hole in Dexter's estate wall, genuinely asking, "Why not use the front door?"
Simon gave him a disdainful look, pointing outside, "Do you know how many snipers are covering the front door? Even with a bulletproof vest, one shot could blow your insides out."
Johnny grumbled as he bandaged Simon's arm, "You knew that, and you didn't have our guys sweep the area?"
"What's the fun in that? This way is cooler."
Simon gazed out the window, a wild glint in his eyes.
Damian added, "Your bike's gone."
"If I want, I can have them make an exact replica for me."
As a prestigious black card holder, he had that kind of power.
Damian fell silent.
This is what they mean by the evils of capitalism.
With the Sons of God’s last asset destroyed, Simon had completed his mission. He snapped his fingers, excitedly saying, "Let's go home!"
Chris had a thought, but before he could speak, Simon cut him off with a gesture.
"Our partnership ends here. We have no personal ties. Don't say anything, just go before I change my mind."
Chris's lips moved, but he couldn't find the words.
Watching him leave, Bobby disapproved, "You're just letting him go?"
Simon smiled mysteriously.
Back home, Leroy's dormant computer suddenly showed a red dot moving.
He ripped off the sticky notes covering his screen, excitement lighting up his face, "Simon did it!"
"What did he do?"
Becky put down her cards, eagerly leaning in to see.
She had finally found time to visit the Windsor Mansion, only to learn Simon had flown to Sylvanor without telling her to avoid worrying her.
Leroy pointed at the red dot on the screen, "That's Chris. Simon put a tracker on him, which means the Sons of God's last asset is destroyed."
He paused, then smiled at Becky, "It also means he's coming home soon."
"Really?"
"Really."
Becky cheered.
Lewis turned on the international news, showing the destruction of Dexter's mansion. Photos from the scene showed a raging fire.
Aria spotted a motorcycle in the corner and frowned, "Did Simon do that?"
He sure did.
Leroy cursed under his breath, "He better be okay."
Lewis gave him a cold look, and Leroy quickly apologized, "I shouldn't have cursed."
Becky pulled out her phone and called. It was answered quickly, but not by Simon—by Damian.
Damian paused, then shouted, "Mr. Windsor! Your wife is checking in!"
Becky was silent.
What wife? He hasn't even proposed yet!
A wet hand took the phone, and a flash of abs caught her eye, nearly blinding her.
Simon’s smiling face appeared on the screen, "Hey, baby."
His smile froze when he saw who else was on the call.
Not just Becky, but Leroy, and thanks to the camera's wide angle, he could see Lewis and Aria too.
What a situation.
The screen blurred as Simon wrapped a towel around himself.
Leroy teased, "So that wasn't for me?"
Simon cursed playfully, then answered Becky's questions.
He was fine and already on a plane home.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
Aria glanced at Lewis with a knowing smile.
Lewis showed no reaction, but he moved closer to Aria.
"Why are you smiling?"
"Doesn't that scene look familiar?"
