Chapter 648 Mess
Chapter 648 Mess
The night was a mess, with everyone running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
By dawn, Flora and Glenn had woken up, one sprawled on the bed and the other on the couch.
Flora got up and noticed her shirt collar was torn, and she felt a dull ache all over, like someone had grabbed her.
"Alvin, did you hit me while I was drunk?"
Alvin was sitting on the couch, rubbing his forehead, his face darkening. "I don't hit idiots."
"Then why is my collar torn? Why does my body hurt?"
Flora was puzzled.
She didn't think much of it because they were all friends who had been through life-and-death situations together.
Zoey walked in, dragging Glenn behind her.
Alvin and Flora exchanged glances.
"What happened to him?"
Glenn looked off, too, his clothes soaking wet as if he had just come out of the bathtub.
"What's going on with him?" Flora asked curiously, trying to get closer.
Zoey stopped her.
"Last night, he almost assaulted you."
Flora's eyes widened. "Really? But I don't remember any of it!"
"Because you were drunk."
Flora scratched her head. "Should I call the cops then?"
"No need to call the cops."
Zoey looked at Glenn. "Because the problem is with him."
"What?"
Both Flora and Alvin were confused.
"He tried to harm someone. Did he get drugged or something?"
It seemed like a character issue, but Alvin found it odd, too.
This guy was usually so honest and straightforward, not the type to do something like this.
"We won't figure it out by just talking here. I called in an expert, and we'll have answers soon."
Zoey had noticed Glenn acting strangely last night.
He woke up once, and even then, he was in a crazed state, fixated on finding Flora, completely ignoring Zoey, who was watching him.
It didn't make sense.
He knew Zoey's fighting skills, yet he acted recklessly in front of her, practically asking to be beaten.
So there was only one possibility.
He had lost his sanity.
But Zoey couldn't figure out what was wrong with him, and with two drunks around, she called a friend.
This friend rushed over, but since he was in another city, it took him three hours to drive over, arriving at dawn.
"He's on his way now, should be here in about 10 minutes."
As soon as she finished speaking, there was a knock on the door.
Zoey opened the door and saw the man standing there, raising an eyebrow in surprise. "Impressive, you got here early."
The man was still catching his breath. "You rushed me, so I came straight here after getting out of the car."
He had run over due to traffic.
"Thanks, I'll treat you to a meal later."
"Let's not talk about that now." The man waved his hand. "Where's the person you mentioned? Let me see."
Zoey led him inside.
"Here he is."
The man immediately examined Glenn, checking his eyes, face, and pulse, and then took out something that looked like a pocket watch.
Alvin looked at the man, finding him familiar. "Are you Francis Vasquez?"
Francis glanced at him. "You know me?"
"Who doesn't know your name?"
"Francis!"
Alvin was interrupted by a high-pitched scream.
Flora looked at Francis excitedly.
"Are you really Francis? The genius psychologist who's known for hypnosis, who can control memories and analyze personalities from micro-expressions and small actions?"
Francis glanced at Flora, instantly gathering information from her slightly raised eyebrows, excited eyes, and upturned mouth.
"Looks like I've met a fan."
"Yes, I'm your fan! I'm your biggest fan!"
Flora was almost incoherent with excitement.
"Thanks, but I have more important things to do now. Can we talk later?"
"Sure."
Flora was very obedient.
Francis was satisfied. After diagnosing Glenn, he quickly concluded, "He's been hypnotized and given a high-level suggestion."
He looked at Flora.
"You are the suggestion."
Now everything made sense.
Zoey understood completely, but Flora and Alvin were still confused.
"Can you tell what the suggestion is?"
"You'll have to ask him."
Francis gently patted Glenn's shoulder, his voice becoming calm and soothing, making everyone feel at ease.
"Glenn, I'm going to ask you a few questions now. Please answer honestly and seriously."
To everyone's surprise, Glenn responded.
"Okay."
"Who did you have dinner with last night?"
"Zoey, Alvin, Flora."
"Did you receive any instructions regarding these three people?"
"Yes, about Flora."
"What kind of instructions?"
"Destroy her."
To destroy a woman, Glenn was executing the instruction thoroughly, as he had not only decided to assault Flora but had also set up a camera in the room.
Zoey had smashed it with a punch.
As soon as he finished speaking, Glenn woke up.
He looked around in confusion, as if he had no idea what had happened.
Zoey frowned. "I remember your hypnosis questioning doesn't wake the subject without your permission."
Francis nodded. "Yes, unless there's a memory switch implanted in his brain."
"Memory switch?" Flora was puzzled.
"You can think of it as a firewall," Francis explained kindly. "Someone gave him an instruction and set up a door. When we discover the instruction, the door remains silent, but once we touch the instruction, the door closes immediately, and he wakes up."
Moreover...
Glenn looked bewildered. "What are you talking about? What instruction? What door? I don't understand. Why am I tied up? Did I do something crazy while drunk last night?"
He asked, but didn't believe he would do such a thing, as he wasn't that kind of person and had never had such thoughts.
Francis shrugged. "That's the situation. He'll completely forget all memories related to the instruction."
"So we can't get any more information from him." Zoey understood. "The person who gave him the instruction must be quite skilled in hypnosis."
"Not really, this is basic hypnosis."
Francis resisted the urge to roll his eyes. "This kind of hypnosis is easily noticeable once the person starts executing the instruction, and the success rate is low."
If it were him, he wouldn't just implant an instruction but a flawless plan. The opponent's instruction had clearly disrupted Glenn, making him act like a mindless beast.
Zoey immediately said, "Delete the instruction."
Francis raised an eyebrow. "You don't think I can do it?"
"Is there anything you can't do?"
Though it was a challenge, Francis was delighted.
"Leave it to me, don't worry."
Zoey knew the challenge would work. "Also, I need you to help me with something else."
