Chapter 647 Do Not Come Again

Chapter 647 Do Not Come Again

The three of them were tossed out like garbage, their gifts scattered all over the ground.

Jesse stood at the door, "Don't ever come back here. If I see you again, it won't be a broom next time, it'll be a knife!"

The King family fled in disgrace.

On the way back, Timothy's phone rang. It was his assistant.

"The company's stock is tanking, and the shareholders are in your office demanding answers. All the projects are on hold, and we're facing a financial meltdown. Mr. King, you need to get here now, or we're going under!"

Timothy's vision blurred, and he passed out in the car.

Zoey got a call from Flora, inviting everyone out for a celebratory dinner.

Alvin and Glenn were there too, and they had heard about Linda's situation.

After a moment of silence, Flora sighed, "People change so fast. We were all struggling together, and now, just like that, she's been sent to the police."

"Justice has to be served," Alvin said smoothly, taking a sip of his wine.

He was in a position where he had everything he needed.

Glenn sighed, "Linda used to be really impressive. She didn't stand out much in our lab, and everyone thought she lacked talent. But during the selection for the Institute for Global Strategy and Analysis, she outshone everyone. That's when we realized she had been hiding her talent all along. But why would she do that? Zoey, what happened between you two?"

Zoey replied calmly, "How are you so sure we had a conflict?"

Glenn looked puzzled, "I was just guessing."

"Forget it, let's not talk about unpleasant things. We're here to celebrate, so let's eat, drink, and have fun."

Flora, carefree as ever, wasn't affected.

The topic quickly changed.

After a few rounds of drinks, Flora was a bit tipsy and hogged the microphone, insisting on singing.

Zoey watched from the side.

To be honest, her singing wasn't bad.

Alvin nodded, "Not off-key."

Flora, having just finished the chorus, heard him and huffed, "Is your only requirement for me to stay on-key? Don't you think I sing well? My emotions are so full!"

"It's not that my standards are low; it's that my expectations for you are high, and you can't meet them. I don't want to waste my emotions."

Alvin's words were as cutting as ever.

Flora gritted her teeth, "If you're so good, come and sing!"

"I sing well."

Alvin, not modest at all, grabbed the microphone and chose a song he was best at.

His voice was deep and slightly raspy, perfect for the heartfelt ballad he chose.

Both his technique and emotion were spot on.

Glenn couldn't help but applaud, "That was really good."

After finishing the song, Alvin looked at Flora, "Convinced now?"

Flora huffed, "I'll never be convinced by you. If I were to be convinced, it would be by Zoey. Zoey, come and sing a song to crush him!"

In her eyes, Zoey could do anything.

She was practically invincible.

Zoey, however, had no interest in singing. Just then, she received a call.

"I'll step out to take this."

She turned and left.

Unable to crush Alvin in singing, Flora decided to challenge him in drinking, "Alvin, dare to chug a bottle with me?"

"Who's afraid? Let's do it."

Alvin raised his bottle.

Both of them drank boldly, pouring the alcohol down their throats.

In the hallway,

Zoey was on the phone with Henry.

"I'll probably need about an hour before I can head back."

"I'll come pick you up then."

This time, Zoey didn't refuse, "Okay."

They talked for half an hour before hanging up. Zoey returned to the private room.

Inside, only Alvin remained.

Glenn and Flora were nowhere to be seen.

"Alvin, where did they go?"

Alvin, drunk and seeing double, replied, "No idea, they left. What a letdown, we agreed to drink, and they ran off halfway!"

Drunk, he was completely different from his usual self, shedding his calm and sharp tongue, showing a bit of youthful spirit.

Zoey sighed and went out to settle the bill.

At the same time, she dialed Flora's phone.

The call went through, but no one answered. The ringtone played for a long time before automatically hanging up.

"Miss, are you here to settle the bill?"

Zoey looked up and handed a card to the staff at the front desk, "Yes, for room 503."

Logically, two grown adults shouldn't get into trouble, but Zoey felt an inexplicable unease.

"Excuse me, I'd like to check the surveillance footage."

"Sorry, miss, guests don't have the right to access the surveillance footage here."

Zoey didn't waste time arguing and called Henry directly.

"I need to check the surveillance footage at the club."

Henry didn't ask why and immediately made a call.

Soon, the manager rushed over.

He quickly accessed the footage and scolded the front desk staff.

Zoey didn't think much of it, "Alright, let's find my two friends first."

The surveillance footage showed the two of them leaving the private room and heading down another hallway. This club had two main areas: one for entertainment and one for rest.

The other hallway led to the restrooms.

From the footage, the manager noticed something, "It looks like the young lady is quite drunk. She's stumbling and not lifting her head, and the gentleman is supporting her."

A man taking a drunk woman into a room usually implies something unsavory.

However, the footage didn't show which room they entered.

The manager apologized, "The surveillance in the rest area broke about an hour ago. The repair staff is still on their way."

"Then we'll check each room."

Zoey strode towards the rest area.

The manager and security guards followed, sweating nervously.

Henry had personally called, indicating this lady's importance. Her friends couldn't be allowed to get into trouble.

But sometimes, the more you fear something, the more likely it is to happen.

They had just entered the hallway and opened two rooms without finding anything.

When they opened the third room, they heard a woman crying inside.

Everyone was shocked and rushed in.

Zoey stopped them, keeping everyone outside, and entered alone.

Inside, a disturbing scene was unfolding.

Glenn was assaulting Flora.

Zoey quickly grabbed Glenn by the collar and yanked him away.

Flora was drunk and disoriented, but her female instincts were still intact.

She wasn't completely unconscious and instinctively resisted the male assault, crying miserably.

Zoey raised her hand to hit Glenn, but noticed something was off.

Logically, he should have fled or felt ashamed upon being caught, but he seemed crazed, staring at Flora like she was a piece of meat he was drooling over.

Zoey tried to block him a few times, but to no avail. Upon closer inspection, she realized Glenn's pupils were vacant, as if he had lost his sanity.

But his body temperature didn't suggest he was drugged.

Zoey decided to knock him out cold.
