Chapter 86 The Playboy

"Good-looking, that woman is quite lucky," Poppy commented, then took out two small packets of powder from her bag and handed them to him.

"I heard you used to be a gigolo. It must have taken a lot of effort to get in here. I will give you plenty of money. Just ask that you make a scene later and let everyone know," Poppy said maliciously.

She not only wanted Covington but also wanted to ruin Holland.

"Don't worry. In our line of work, after taking the money, we will definitely handle things beautifully."

The waiter in a tailcoat put the two packets of powder in his pocket.

"I've inquired. Today, there's a Soup. You put the powder in the soup and give Covington and Holland each a portion. Then, pretend to soil their clothes accidentally."

Afraid that Covington might notice something, Poppy left on the spot. She wanted to delay as much as possible to find the right opportunity to act.

"Alright, Miss Evans."

The waiter agreed skillfully, appearing quite adept at handling such matters.

After Poppy finished speaking, she left in high heels. As the waiter was about to leave, he was suddenly stopped by a man.

He looked at the man in front of him in panic and exclaimed, "Mr... Mr. Morgen."

"What are you holding?" Maxwell stared at his hand.

"Nothing." The waiter tried to hide the object behind him.

"I heard everything," Maxwell said with a faint smile.

He walked up to the waiter, grabbed his hand, and snatched the object from him.

"Is this what Poppy gave you?"

"Mr... Mr. Morgen! Please spare me." The waiter knew the seriousness of the situation and begged, "Please don't tell anyone, I beg you!"

Maxwell, a man capable of absurd things, was a well-known playboy in A City with no moral boundaries. His reputation was even worse than Dalvin's.

Maxwell pinched the packet of powder in his hand and asked in a low voice, "What is this?"

The waiter reluctantly said, "It's for entertainment."

"Interesting stuff!" Maxwell weighed the packet in his hand and said, "I can keep it a secret, but you have to listen to me."

"Mr. Morgen, what are your orders?"

The waiter had no choice but to obey his orders.

"Come here."

Maxwell was careful when doing bad things, afraid of another eavesdropper. He gave the waiter careful instructions, causing the waiter's face to show fear.

"Mr. Morgen! If I do this, I won't be able to stay in A City anymore!"

"Do you do it or not? If you don't, I'll kick you out of A City right now! But if you agree, after success, I'll give you money. You can leave A City and live elsewhere."

Maxwell threatened while tempting with benefits.

"Okay! I'll do it now!"

The waiter, pale-faced, sneaked off towards the kitchen with the packets of powder. Maxwell watched his fleeing figure, his eyes squinting with a smile.

It was going to be an exciting scene later.

At the banquet.

Poppy sat back down, waiting for the dishes. Bookbinder Soup, reportedly a new soup introduced by this restaurant, was remarkably expensive. But when it was served, it indeed had a rich flavor.

"Mr. Ross, they have this soup!"

"It is said that this high-priced dish uses a traditional recipe from the 1800s, with advanced modifications, replacing dry sherry with expensive Remy Martin Louis XIII Cognac, and using air-flown red snapper for the soup, sprinkled with Ossetra caviar and gold leaf."

Everyone began to taste it. Poppy kept an eye on Covington and Holland, seeing them take a sip of the soup. She then lowered her head and slowly began to taste it herself. The soup was indeed impressive in taste. A smug smile appeared on her face.

At the main table.

Covington leaned towards Holland and whispered, "With this soup, you first savor the richness of the broth, then taste the various ingredients layer by layer."

There was a certain way to eat this, quite troublesome. Holland, with bright eyes, seemed to have discovered something new. Following Covington's lead, she took a sip of the soup and then a bite of the fish.

"It tastes great."

Covington smiled. "If you like it, have some more."

He even tried to push his soup towards Holland, but she declined.

"One serving per person, it's the rule. I can't be greedy."

She showed restraint.

Dalvin had been observing them for a while and couldn't help but say, "You two are attending my banquet, yet you're secretly in love. I know you have a good relationship, but it's too much for us single men!"

As soon as he spoke, the whole table burst into friendly laughter.

Dalvin was probably the only brave one at the table who dared to tease Covington.

Holland's cheeks blushed uncontrollably.

Covington just glanced at him indifferently. Dalvin immediately shut his mouth.

Clementine gave him a firm slap and said, "Mr. Drake, don't mind him. My son has been spoiled. It's a good thing that you have a good relationship. Let's all celebrate Mr. Drake's happy marriage."

She was good at livening up the atmosphere.

Several people at the main table stood up and raised their glasses to Covington. Holland even had to pick up a glass.

"Mr. Drake, wish you a long and happy marriage!"

"When can we expect a baby on the way?"

Everyone was enthusiastic. Covington downed three glasses of wine in a row.

Holland also followed suit, drinking three small glasses of wine. Her face quickly turned red, and her body swayed involuntarily.

But at that moment, that waiter accidentally bumped into her, spilling soup on her dress.

"Sorry, sorry!" The waiter apologized in a panic.

Holland softly said, "It's okay. Maybe I wasn't standing steady."

She turned to Covington, "Mr. Drake, I'll go to the restroom."

"Alright." Covington pointed to a room on the second floor, "There's a nameplate at the door. Just go there. They should be prepared, and there should be spare clothes."

"Okay."

Clementine saw this and warmly said, "Holland, I'll go with you. I have prepared one-size-fits-all dresses for female guests, and you can change into one."

"No need, I can find it."

Holland felt a bit embarrassed to have Clementine accompany her. After all, she was the center of attention today. She still needed to entertain the guests.

"Alright, if you need anything, just call the room's landline. The front desk will provide you with anything you need."

"Okay."

They were indeed well-prepared.

Holland stood up and walked towards the lounge on the second floor.

Poppy, seeing this, signaled the stunning waiter to follow.

The waiter gritted his teeth and followed Holland at a distance.
