Claire's pov
Slowly, I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling, I was fully aware about where I was yet I felt so disappointed. For a moment I thought that I was back home. I could finally perceive the aroma of mother's soup or her scent.
But I was still hear in the hands of the hybrid who somehow I felt so comfortable in his arms and even when he was hurting me. It felt so good.
“Claire!” I heard a deep male voice called out as Lucien rushed to my side and held my arm. “How are you feeling?”.
He asked again, but recalling how he had lost control the first time, I quickly pulled my hands away from him.
Seeing the way I reacted. There was disappointment in his eyes as he took a few steps back.
“I will get the nurse to come check up you” this time he spoke coldly and didn't spare me a glance but I was also so eager to leave his room for fear of what he might decide to do to me.
“There is no need for that, I am fine now!” I assured him and jerked out of the bed, I started walking towards the door but his voice made me come to a halt.
“Claire!” He walked close to me and as he stood infront of me, I could hear the sound of my heart throbbing heavily wondering what he might decide to do next to me.
Lucien stretch out his hand, obviously he was about to touch me but seeing how scared I was, he pulled back.
“I just want to say, I am sorry about what happened. I have never lost control like that before….. ever! But everything about you is new to me and very difficult to resist”
Was he apologizing?
The Almighty Hybrid Alpha was apologizing to a mere human girl, and as I stared directly into his eyes, I could see the sincerity in them.
“It's fine”
“And as for your brother, I have decided to pardon him, he can leave today after breakfast”
My eyes popped wide open. The excitement inside of me knew no bond that I totally forgot all about fear, I rushed towards lLucien and hugged him tightly.
“Thank you! Thank you!!!”
“It's fine”
“I will go have my bath now and help in the kitchen” my eyes was still beaming with excitement as I dashed out of there.
But just as I walk down the stairs, I was so lost in my thoughts and didnt see Silas standing there until he spoke.
“You don't seem like the same person that was dying yesterday!” His voice brought me back to reality as I rushed to his side and coiled myself around his arms.
Resting on his chest. It felt like my safe place and having him here even for just a day made me so happy.
“Silas, I just spoke to Lucien and he agreed he would no longer be punishing you”
“Lucien?” Silas asked, pulling me away from his chest like he was trying the get a good view of my face.
“So you now address him by his name?” He asked and there was a look I could comprehend on his face.
“What is going on between you two Claire?”
“What! Of course it nothing, I am just the human slave he bought, nothing else”
“I was the one who gave you my blood yesterday and trust me when I say I fully recall how devastated he looked, the hybrid Alpha doesn't care about anyone like that before”
“I…..”
“Wait, did you spend the night in his room?” Silas cut me off, as if just realizing that now. “He let you stay in his bed last night while you were sick and even know I am still not sure about the situation that led to you needing blood, go ahead and tell me what is going on?”
Silas insisted and knowing my brother, he wouldn't stop bulging.
“I saved his life and he is trying to be grateful for that”
“What do you mean save his life?” He asked and I scan the area trying to be certain that no one was Eva drop-in on our conversation.
“He was shot two days ago and it turned out to be something that can kill his kind, k don't know how Silas, but I got a revelation in how I can save him and it did save him”
I explained, expecting to see the surprise expression on his face, but he didn't seemed surprised.
“Silas! Didn't you just hear what I just said!”
“I heard you. But that still doesn't explain what is going on. Claire, you are human and right now, Alpha Lucien happens to be the most powerful Alpha”
He pause and I was staring directly at him, trying to grasp where this conversation was headed.
“There is no way in this world the both of you can ever be compatible, if he is getting so close to you, it not because he fancy you, the only explanation might be because you have something he needs, so I need you to be very careful”
I nodded my head, he was right, I am even alive right now because he couldn't kill me and now that he is acting warm. It can only mean the same thing.
“I understand, I will be careful. Thank you so much, Lucien has agreed that you can leave after breakfast”
“What about you?”
“What do you mean, I have been bought already”
“Yes but you need to come see mother and father” i scoffed with a hyerical laugh.
“Come on Silas, you know that is not possible”
“Claire! There is no way anyone would believe that I saw you if you don't come with me. Mother is so heartbroken about the news of your death, please she needs to see you even for just a moment”
“I can't, Lucien would never accept”
“Yes he would, he just needs to hear it from you. You still don't realize how he treats you, I am sure he would give in to your request, you just have to ask first”
Silas persisted. No doubt that I was deeply tempted to see mother and father even just once so I nodded my head, agreeing to speak to Lucien about it.
