Chapter 44 044
Chapter 44 044
Lucien's pov
I knew that I should stop at that moment but fuck, she was so intoxicating. Everything about her was calling out to me and the more my palm trailed around her body, the more rigid my cock had become.
“You are mine!” I growled in a deep voice as my eyes turned red and my under eyes became pale with green veins. It was obvious that Claire understood what was going on yet she held my hand closer to her neck.
“Yes….. I am yours” she moaned. The sound of her soft moaning was all it took to get rid of the self control in me.
I pushed my fangs out, piercing right into her neck and the taste of her blood was all the satisfaction that I needed.
She held me tight, I couldn't tell if that was a sign of her urging me to go further or not, but I couldn't stop myself even if I wanted to, the taste of her blood had sent me over the edge.
“Stop…..” I heard her cry out, but I couldn't. There was something different about her blood. The more I drank, the more I wanted. I couldn't stop myself and had no intention of stopping.
“You…. You…. You are going to kill me” she cried out, I knew she was in pain, part of me badly didn't want to see her in pain, yet I didn't know how to stop myself.
A hybrid with self control of centuries but all of a sudden, I had lost myself in Claire, she kept on struggling to pull away from me, but she couldn't, there was no way she would ever be able to break free from me.
At this point, it was clear to me that I had no intention of stopping, my hands wrapped around her, feeling the intense strength that came along with her blood, whatever she was, was definitely something I was starting to like.
But just then, a loud knock on the door came through and that was all it took for me to break free away from her.
As soon as she jerked away from me, she fell on the ground, I could see the fear and tears in her eyes, they had become pale, it was at this moment I realized what I had done.
“Claire!” My eyes returned to normal as I called out to her, pulling closer to her.
“Please! Don't come close, please!” She cried out and even though she was on the floor, she kept on drifting backwards, the fear in her eyes.
The knock on the door persisted, but I ignored it trying to apologize to Claire and make her understand that this was all a mistake, but just then she blinked her eyes and fell right to the floor.
I rushed over to her side, there was a faint pulse but it seemed like she was losing her life. I hurriedly carried her over to my bed before reaching for the door where Austin had been knocking.
“Sure…..”
“Find a match donor for Claire!” I spoke anxiously, not letting him state his purpose for banging on my door all this while which also seemed to have saved Claire.
“What?”
“Find a match donor for Claire right now!” I yelled but he remained at a spot, his eyes staring perplexed at me like he was trying to put the pieces together.
“How can I do that when we don't even know her blood type”
“Oh!” I totally forgot about that.
“Is she sick, then I think we should take her to the hospital”
“No. She has lost a lot of blood and doesn't have such time. She needs blood right now else she would die!”
I started in a haste and he massaged his temple while staring at me like he was trying to put the pieces together.
“Sire, there is no way we can get her a donor without knowing her blood type, it is too risky!”
He stated the reality again and this seemed to send fear down my body. I couldn't even bring myself to think about the fact that given her unique nature, she might be a rare blood type and if she was, then that means there won't be much time to find her match.
But suddenly, my eyes lit up as an idea immediately struck me. “Yes! Get her brother right now!”
I yelled out and this time around, he wasted no time as he turned around and dashed through the hallway.
I returned to Claire's side, checking her pulse at every moment and I had never felt this level of regret before.
I couldn't comprehend why she meant something to me or why I didn't want to lose her, humans were weak and didn't mean anything to us. I shouldn't feel anything towards her.
But I did, it was like there was a syringe between the both of us and if I lost her, then I would lose everything.
I kept caressing her cheek. Trying to keep her warm and as the door swung open, I rose to my feet. Austin and Silas both walked in and Silas let his gaze trailed straight to Claire.
“Is she dead?” He asked but didn't dare step forward because there was fear in his eyes while he did.
“Not yet, but we need to know her blood type because she needs blood” I insisted. He opened his mouth but couldn't form a word. His eyes kept trailing from Claire to me as if trying to put the pieces together.
“Did you just hear me, we don't have a lot of time. What is her blood type?”
“It's type B, same with mine” he stretched out his hand, offering me to take his blood. I let out a long sigh of relief knowing this was going to be much easier than I had expected.
“Good! Austin get the nurse here right away and have his blood draw out”
“Here?” Austin seemed perplexed at the fact that I would let them go on in my private chamber, but right now none of that mattered to me except getting better.
I left the room to get some air and by the time I was back, the nurse was already done taking Silas blood as it had now been transferred to Claire.
Silas sat next to her but quickly rose to his feet once he noticed me walking in.
“Go ahead and sit down. You just had your blood taken, you must be dizzy”
“I am fine Alpha, thank you for saving my sister” I didn't respond to that, how could I know fully well that I was the cause of all of it.
I walked up closer to Claire, checking her pulse and feeling much relieved soon as I realized that she was starting to get better.
“She should wake up soon” the nurse said as if she had read the worry in her eyes, I didn't say anything to her, instead I turned to Austin who was standing at the door.
“Get Silas settled in the guest room”
“Sure!” Austin called, his eyes pop wide obviously confused at my order. Silas was supposed to be a prisoner and yet I was giving him a guest room in my castle.
“You heard me. Take him to the guest room and make sure he is well fed”
“Yes Sire” Austin nodded his head and once he had escorted Silas out of my chamber, I settled right next to Claire.
