Dr. Knight.
We went home to my house. She settled everything and sorted out the house. It was a cozy family home. She fired all the servants. I hated that. They had been working for me for years. But it's okay.
She was the lady of the house, and I wanted her to feel that she owned the place. After all, she didn't leave me in my deathly condition but stayed beside me.
I sighed once I stepped inside my room. There was an old picture of me and Bella. I missed her so much.
To be honest, I had thought about going back to her. But she had said her words. She wasn't ready to lose her life to be next to me.
But something was weird. Despite how much Bella loved me. Even Gerard! He didn't appear once again!
We had been together for years.
I wanted to take some rest for a few days and investigate both of them. I was curious to know what was going on behind my back.
But it was time for me to take care of my family and let my true and first love take care of me too.
Angela stepped in like a madwoman and snatched the picture from my hand, then opened the window and threw it away.
"What are you doing? Are you nuts?" I yelled, annoyed. I didn't like anyone interfering in my personal life, even if that person was my wife or soon-to-be wife or even my son. There are limits above all.
She crossed her arms over her chest. "I'm giving you one last chance to be with me. Why can't you appreciate it for once?"
She was right from her perspective. But why was she always blaming me?
I was the one who should kill her for not telling me about having a son for all these years!
I didn't rape her years ago, after all. I just made love to her as lovers, then said sorry, I can't, and I left.
But she knew where I lived and everything about me. It would have been easy for her to come and tell me.
"Angela. Don't ever try to tell me what I should do and what I shouldn't. I'm the man of the house. I'm the head of the family. I'm a real man, not a teenager." I stressed my words, speaking slowly, hoping she could understand that even if I loved her more than myself, I could still kick her out of my life forever. I hadn't married her yet, after all.
"Take off your clothes, Angelo," she muttered, not looking into my eyes.
"What?" I snorted.
She raised her brows. "You need to take a shower and then sleep."
Oops, my mistake. I thought she was commanding me.
I rubbed my chin, trying to be nice with her, and leaned close to her lips, stealing a soft kiss. "Yummy."
I licked my lips seductively. She rolled her eyes. "You need to take a shower. I'm serious."
I shrugged. "Okay. And you?"
She blushed. "Me too."
I blinked excitedly, even though I was still tired. My body responded immediately. "Seriously? You and I? Finally?"
She dropped her jaw. "Of course not! I mean after you."
I wheezed, frustrated, and wrapped my arms around her waist, trying to press on her nerves and make her melt between my arms. "Please. I want you. We haven't done it. And—"
She twirled away and smiled softly, then suddenly said, "No. You're still in bad condition."
I grumbled and huffed. "You're so weird! You wanted to marry me and you wanted me back, and now you're rejecting me in bed. What is this?"
"This is love. I care about you. Nothing more," she said simply, defending herself.
I retorted, "Or maybe you're not here for love but for something else."
She narrowed her eyes, aggressively asking, "Like what?"
I said harshly, making accusations, "Money! Fame."
Then she slapped my face. "Don't forget who I am! You know me and you know my family. I have more money than—"
She was truly angry but discontinued her words. I guess she noticed that she was doing the same as me.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean that," I came back to my senses and apologized to her. She was right. Her family was wealthy. I guess I forgot that she's not Bella.
Even Bella came from a good background, rich though not as much as me or Angela, but still—Bella cared about money and sex so much.
Or maybe Bella cared about me!
I snapped back from my thoughts. I tried to get rid of Bella and push her out of my mind. But I think when I was with Angela, I was thinking of my son. And when I was with Angela, I was thinking of Bella.
As if my heart wasn't mine or wasn't in my chest anymore. Something was happening.
I growled, forgetting that Angela was still in the room. She hurriedly and worriedly came toward me and placed her hands on my chest. "Are you okay?"
I clutched my hair, and the words slipped genuinely from my mouth. "Let me make love to you now. I want to be with you. I want to know if I love you and want to marry you or not."
She unbuttoned her shirt slowly and said, "Okay, you can now." Her words were so cold.
I raised my brow in disbelief. "What's this? If you're not into me, then why are you here?"
And then I heard a familiar voice saying and echoing, "She's here for revenge."
