Chapter 47 Chapter 47
Chapter 47
Darius POV
"Welcome." Donovan smiled as I entered his office with Nathan behind me.
"I don't need you to welcome me, Donovan. You know why I'm here, now start talking before I put a bullet in your head." I growled.
"Relax, tiger." He smiled.
How I hate the gut of this bastard, if he wasn't still useful to me I would have ended him long ago.
"Moreover, I have no idea why you are here? Do you have a business deal for me?" He continued.
"I will cut to the chase since you are slow." I smirked, settling down on the seat opposite him and crossing my legs.
"Iris had an accident yesterday." I said, looking at him intently. Waiting for the moment I would see fear, or panic flash in his eyes but I didn't see any.
He leaned back in his seat, folding his arms across his chest. "Did she?"
"I'm very sure you know something about this Donovan and I want to know everything you know." I spat out.
"Mmn. What do I know?" He pretended to think about it, looking away from me for a second before returning his gaze back to me.
"I'm sorry but I know nothing about that." He finished.
I stood up from the chair angrily, slamming my fist on the table. "Don't give me any of that crap, Donovan. And if you don't spit it out right now, you might end up taking it to your grave."
"Would I mind that? Nah, I think I would prefer that." He replied.
"You are testing my patience, Donovan." I hissed. "And I'm damn sure you know what happens when you do that."
"Nah, I'm way too important to you for you to take me out that easily." He smiled.
Motherfucker knows it, but I won't give him the pleasure he so much derives.
"I will have you know that, I don't care for people that much. Whether important or not, it won't change my mind on when to kill you." I said calmly and that seemed to do something inside him.
He straightened in his seat and I sat down with a smirk plastered on my face.
"Now, that's more like it."
"Let's get back to business now shall we." I announced and I didn't miss the way he gulped.
"Iris had an accident. What do you know about it?" I asked him.
"I wasn't joking when I said I didn't know anything about it, I was only acting that way to get a rile out of you." He answered.
"Mmn. So you want me to believe you have no idea about it?" I asked again and he nodded.
"Daniel is dead already and he is the only one that comes here demanding me to kill her."
"You want me to believe she had an accident, her car tumbled over several times and not just hers but the truck that crashed into her too but no one was found in the truck?" I barked.
"Not even a single droplet of blood and you are telling me you don't know anything about it?" I continued, banging my fist on his table.
"I know nothing about it, I only heard it from someone myself that she had an accident."
"I don't want to lose my cool, Donovan. I wouldn't want to waste your life right here and right now." I threatened.
"Even if you stab me right now, I will still tell you the same thing. I don't know who sent the truck driver but I can help you try and find the person." He suggested.
"Then do it, make calls. I want that person to kneel in front of me." I commanded.
"You of everybody should know these things aren't easy Alpha Darius. I need time, I will have to make lots of calls and go places." He muttered.
"Fine! You have until tomorrow afternoon, if I don't get an update from you, I will end your miserable life." With that, I stormed out of his office angrily with Nathan behind me.
"I don't trust him, Alpha." Nathan voiced out.
"Neither do I." I replied. "But I can't sit by and do nothing. By the way, I also want you to try and locate the truck driver."
"Alright, Alpha i will start working on that right away." He responded and I nodded as we got into the car.
"Where should I drive to Alpha?" The driver asked.
"Take me to the house first, I need to pick up something, afterwards we can go to the hospital." I answered.
"Okay, Alpha." He started the car and we began heading in the direction of the house.
"Did you change the flowers today, Nathan?" I asked.
"Yes Alpha, I had it changed this morning immediately after we left the hospital." He responded.
I hummed and didn't ask any more questions after that. I still have to call Leonard on the phone later, I need to tell him about the honeymoon so he won't bother trying to call Iris or me.
Thankfully, I was able to take the pictures of the accident down before anybody could see it on the internet. I don't want Leonard especially to see it, I don't want his fake sobs near Iris.
Her only family member that I'm willing to tell hasn't picked up her phone or called me back since yesterday. I have been trying to get a hold of her.
Maybe she blocked my numbers. No, that can't be. Maybe she is just trying to avoid my calls but she should know it's important.
Else, I wouldn't call her. I have basically no reason too, if not for her close relationship with Iris I would have hidden it away from her as well.
We soon got to the house, I got out of the car and quickly grabbed what I wanted to grab inside and headed out back. I missed Iris' face, I haven't spent up to an hour with her today.
"Shit!" Nathan exclaimed loudly.
"What is it, Nathan? Why are you shouting?" I asked, irritated.
"I'm sorry, Alpha but I need to tell you this." He said.
"Go ahead then and it better be something reasonable."
"Vickie is dead.”
