Chapter 58; The Alpha's Way
Matthew's point of view.
"All I need to know now is who is causing all of this havoc." Who is the intended victim, and what does it have to do with Cheska?" I spoke the words to myself as I walked to the prison where Cheska was being held. I can't wait until the morning, even if it's late, since I don't want her to sleep in jail.
I rushed through the investigation after ensuring Cheska's safety. I searched for Samantha's pals first, but they weren't at the pack house, so I went to their house. The two friends instantly admitted to what had occurred, and as Cheska said, Samantha began tormenting the latter, which is why they testified it was in self-defense.
"Alpha..." When the guard saw me walking into the jail complex, he hurriedly stood up.
"Are you all alone?" I inquired. I scowled because I instantly observed the guard was upset.
The guard was happy. "No, Alpha, I have a friend." He did, however, leave for a time to grab something to drink."
I nodded, imprinting in my memory that I needed to add extra guards to the pack home, particularly at night.
"All right, be cautious... We must be cautious since numerous packs remain in our proximity. "Remember that only Thunder Pack members can come here," I remarked before turning away.
"Alpha, may I ask why you came here late at night?" the guard respectfully inquired.
I came to a halt and faced the guard. The person is older than me, yet his respect and dread for me are palpable; maybe he is aware of my demeanor. "I'm here to take Cheska out," I said, signing.
For a brief period, the guard's expression seemed astonished. "Cheska? "Is this Luna Maurice's daughter?"
"Yeah, she is inside." I responded and resumed my stroll. I recalled that the guard was different when I brought Cheska earlier, so maybe this one didn't know what had transpired in the pack house earlier.
I noticed the stillness when I arrived at the complex but disregarded it. It's already beyond midnight, so it's simply matural. My chest began to churn fast as I reached Cheska's detention chamber.
'Something isn't right... Why am I not feeling her? Is Cheska's smell out of reach? With this concept in mind, I took out running. Then I forcibly opened the room's door. "Cheska!" I screamed in fear. But my assumption was correct; the latter is not in the room!
I took a deep breath and reminded myself that if I let loose, it would be difficult for me to think about my next move. "Oh, no! They move quickly!" As I took a big breath, I said.
The Hidden Society is the first thing that springs to mind. "Neo claimed he is not alone. So there's a good chance the gang is behind what occurred earlier." I said something and scented the whole room. Cheskaa's perfume stays in the room, but it is mingled with another.
Before leaving the room, I recalled this aroma. Then I went to the guard I had been speaking with earlier.
"Alpha-"
"When did you patrol this area?" I inquired. The guard isn't on my list since his fragrance isn't in Cheskaa's room.
When the guard saw my eyes, he was taken aback. Probably as a result of restraining rage. My eyes got very red. "... Alpha, before twelve o'clock at night, I replaced the previous guard... Why? Is there an issue?"
"Cheska has gone missing!" What about your companion? "Where has he gone?" I inquired as I examined his surroundings.
The guard's eyes widened in surprise. "What happened?" Anyway, my buddy is yet to return, and I'm afraid I don't know who the guard in front of us is. They were gone when I arrived. My companion, on the other hand, came early, so I'm certain he knows who they are.
As my skepticism grew, the quiet became deafening; the guard's companion was not to be found after a few minutes. That's why I issued the order. "Press the alarm!" I said.
I didn't have to say anything since the guard was just behind me.
"BUZZ!!! BUZZ!!! BUZZ!!!" Everyone was awakened by the alarm. Because the pack members understood what to do, they headed straight to the conference room while the others made sure the guests didn't leave their rooms.
"Is everyone there?" As I stood in front, I inquired. Fear overtook everyone since no one knew what was going on, particularly while my eyes stayed red.
"Alpha, my partner, is not here," the guard said as I gazed at him.
"It appears that the Thunder Pack is in jeopardy!" And I'm sure it's not just one or two who have embraced the pack's true purpose of annihilating us!" I answered, my gaze fixed on everyone. I can sense how everyone feels since I am the Alpha. I concentrated on feeling uncomfortable and terrified to discover someone with malicious intent.
"Alpha, could you please explain why you said that?" "Everyone here loves our pack," the member ventured to say.
"Really? So, how did the Hidden Society emerge in our midst? "How did they get into our pack house?" I yelled. I planned to bring up the group to see how everyone reacted. And, as I predicted, several of those there were racing their hearts.
We have had suspicions about those involved since our last investigation. So I gave my Beta Leonil the signal. The suspect was picked up by the latter and his men.
"What are you up to?" I've been a member of the pack for a long time! I can't possibly endanger the organization!"
"This is insane! You have no evidence! "Let's go!"
These are just a few of the suspects' comments. But anything they say is meaningless since my mind is already blocked.
"Thunder rules are too simple, so we'll follow my rule from now on!" Using my alpha tone, I yelled.
"Alpha, everyone on your list is here except for the guard..." While walking beside me, Leonil explained.
"We must locate that guard!" He knows where Cheska went!" I responded, my fangs gleaming. Because my patience has run out, I am prepared to employ force.
"There is still an issue... The other pack was curious about what was going on and requested an explanation. Despite the fact that Luna Maurice spoke to them, they refused to believe it. "They'd like to speak with you," Leonil stated.
"Fuck them all!" I don't have time to entertain them!" I replied.
Then Leonil and I entered the chamber where the Hidden Society members were assembled...
"I shall no longer waver... "Move forward and speak if you want to save your race," I urged as I stepped in front of everyone.
But the Hidden Society's members all keep mute...
"Let's go with the second option." I proclaimed myself and stripped naked. "Let's go wild!" says one. I said, sneering as I prepared my claws.
