Chapter 197
Chapter 197
David
The sunlight trickled across the bed as David felt Stormy stretch next to him. She yawned and snuggled deeper into his chest. He kissed her forehead softly and rubber her bare shoulders. It was the most incredible sensation in the world.
He could sense that Dean, who’s head was resting against her thigh from between her legs, was also awake. Damian, who slept at the top of the bed was dozing on and off. Drew, however, was snuggled against Stormy’s back and still out cold. David figured Drew needed to rest. Stormy had given him quite the workout the night before.
The whole room reeked with a mix of their five scents. David’s chamber was filled with the remaining smell of their lovemaking. Stormy had been a bit of a wild thing as she took them all to their bed the previous evening. David had lost track of how many times she had brought each of them to their pleasure. It was almost like she was celebrating life with every thrust.
Over the last few days, Stormy had taken them collectively to bed but she always seem to have a favorite for the evening. Last night she had done things with Drew that David had never seen before, and wasn’t sure he could even spell. From the noises he had made, Drew obviously enjoyed every moment of it.
David smirked as he watched her. His whole body was already tight with anticipation. His erection throbbed at the idea it would soon be his turn to experience her focus. He had so many things he wanted to try.
“You’re killing me.” Dean grumbled as he nuzzled against Stormy’s leg. “You know we don’t have time for that this morning. We have a meeting with the council.”
David groaned. He didn’t want to get up. Having Stormy in his arms was his idea of paradise. While the day was expected to be much happier than the past ones, he still was reluctant to release his mate.
It had been almost a week since they had defeated the Shadow Army. The time had been bittersweet. For instance, Daniel and Mara had already begun construction on their new home. They had made themselves comfortable on the new elf island. They had named it Fairheim, and it was a tropical paradise. Angie was helping them and David had already taken them supplies, mostly as an excuse to visit.
Yesterday had been the last of the mass funerals for all of their fallen friends. Large memorials were already being built so that the eighty lost allied souls would never be forgotten. David had five dragons perish in the battle. He had known them for years and he mourned their sacrifice.
David reluctantly rolled to the edge of the bed and sat up. He knew Argus had something important to report. There had been a excitement to his voice when he requested the meeting that gave David hope. He hoped that things were beginning to turn around for his people. He knew that all of the dragons could use a spot of good news for a change.
Stormy also crawled out of bed. She gave David a hug and a wicked wink that made his heart beat just a bit faster. She bit her lip and drew a heart into his chest and covered it with her palm. He kissed her softly as she waved her hand. The smell of their body wash filled the air. David was suddenly wearing a familiar shirt. It immediately made him remember that wonderful day in the dressing room.
The Kindred shared a quick breakfast before they headed to the conference room. The portal mirror now permanently resided next to the round table, to make it easier for the different members to come and go easily. It stood as a reminder of their combined dedication to proceed as one people. They were united in the hope of a new and beautiful future.
When David arrived, Luscious and Argus were already in deep conversation. Nathan was lounging in his seat. The only person left to arrive was Shawna, the Fae princess. Argus motioned David to take his rightful place as the moderator.
Stormy was following behind him when she stopped and sniffed the air. She turned around and rushed to Shawna who was stepping through the mirror. David watched as his mate threw her arms around the female fae, careful not to jostle her wings. Stormy pulled away and began to bounce. She bit her lip happily and clapped her hands. Shawna was beaming.
David waved to her and called the meeting to order. Stormy was still bouncing when she climbed into his lap. The rest of the council all took their seats around the table. The excitement was so thick the air was almost crackling.
“I official call this supernatural council meeting to order. I will defer to Princess Shawna, because I have a feeling she has a announcement and if My Sweetness, has to wait much longer she may explode.” David said with a grin.
Shawna stood up and her eyes glowed the most beautiful color of blue. Her wings were fluttering excitedly and inadvertently picked her up from the ground she prepared to speak.
“As many of you know, the fae has been struggling with falling birth rates. There was concerned that our race would eventually be extinct. I have personally been a victim. My mate and I have been barren for over three hundred years. Today, I would like to announce that the curse has been broken. I am expecting!” Shawna said with a gush of happy tears. Nathan jumped from the table and hugged her. David was happy to see that they had become such close friends.
The meeting was even more interrupted with a round of congratulations but David didn’t mind. It was amazing news. He was excited for not just Shawna but for all of the fae. It was the best news he had heard in what felt like forever.
A second round of applause broke out at Luscious’s announcement. “I am happy to report the birth of two day walkers among the vampires since the fall of the shadow army. It is believed the curse has broken.” Damian was almost glowing from the news.
When the room had returned to order, Nathan indicated that he also had an announcement. He stood up and slapped Dean in the shoulder playful. “Yesterday, my people were honored to attend a human memorial service for the fifteen warriors they lost during the battle. While representing our community, I am ecstatic to announce I met my fated mate. She is a dark headed spitfire named Jade. She was the only person dancing during the memorial music. I can’t wait for you to meet her.”
Again the meeting was interrupted with another round of cheers and congratulations. David was so excited. He loved his mate with all his heart and he wanted that for his friends as well. True love and new life seemed like very worthy things to celebrate.
When they all settled again, Argus raised his hand indicating he also had an announcement. “I also bring similar news. It has been reported that dragon kind has experienced a miracle. I have been told that many of the stone eggs from failed clutches have reverted back to viable eggs. It is believed in a few weeks there will be several new baby dragons. I am happy to confirm that I am expecting the final of my two triples in the near future.”
David pulled Stormy to his chest as the room erupted into applause. “You have saved us all. I love you so much, My Sweet.”
